Wang Lin

"Father, what's this book about?"

A 12-year-old with red eyes and silver hair rummaged through a room and found a strange box with a book, a black sword, a black brush, and a locked black container.

The father who was looking for candles in the same storage room turned his head and identified the book "These items were passed down from generation to generation of our family, but none of these items have any special use. You are one of the first people in generations who learned to read so maybe you can find something useful in that book."

The child's name was Wang Lin and his father's name is Wang Dong. They both lived in a medium-sized plot of land right next to Song Village which is located in the Spring Mist Kingdom.

Wang Lin' mother died when traveling to the distant Wind Leaf City to buy some special seeds for the farm. She most likely died during the battle of two powerful beings.

Wang Lin has heard his teacher talk about beings in the world who cultivate special energy called Qi to become cultivators who have many abilities like the ability to fly through the sky and adventure to distant places. Wang Lin wanted to see this himself but his teacher said the cost to join the nearest sect, the Black Sword Sect, was too high and the alternative was to actually cultivate to the first level, but Wang Lin didn't have access to either of these.

He wanted to get revenge but his powerlessness in this world made him grit his teeth in anger. He could do nothing about his mother's death other than fulfilling his filial duties as a son.

Wang Lin grabbed the box of items and carried it to his room before closing the door. His face now showed his true feelings of joy as he read the title of the book "The Heavenly Law Seal, the book that contains the knowledge of the Ancestor of Heavenly Law, the one who created the entire universe."

The language in the book wasn't the same as the common language in the world, but an ancient language that his teacher had taught him before he left for the next town. This book is connected to a shocking past and yet his teacher already taught him the language within the book, this caused him to wonder who his teacher truly was.

Wang Lin opened the book to the first page and read "To continue reading, you must gather the Infernal Fiendgod Sword, the Divine Saint Brush, the Ancient Crucible, the Empyrean Wind Lightning Orb, and the Monarch Frost Flame. You must also cultivate the Breathing of the Gods Art for 3 years before you can continue. Drop your blood on the book and the treasures you collect to assimilate them to your body."

Wang Lin's eyes widened as he looked towards the sword and brush next to him, "My family has already collected these treasures? How is this possible?"

He tried to open to the 2nd page but his attempts were futile because the book refused to go further. He knew he would have to merge with the items and do 3 years of meditation to access the other pages.

Wang Lin grabbed a knife from his bed and grit his teeth as he made a cut on his finger. He then dropped blood on the book causing it to glow red for a moment. He then saw it float into the air like something out of a storyteller's mouth before it flew into his chest. He cried out in pain as the book merged with his soul and after about 30 seconds the pain finally faded went away.

His mind was flooded with information about the 5 treasures, how to access the treasures in his soul at will, and the Breathing of the Gods Art.

He learned how to command to pull the book it and out of his body as if it were a part of himself that could never get lost.

His mind was in complete shock "Why does my family have this? This book belongs to cultivators with immense power, not a lowly farmer family like mine!"

This book was a danger to his family and he should get rid of it so his father doesn't get implicated, but after some time he decided to keep it because he knew that if he wanted to get stronger he needed this book and it wouldn't be so easy to gain another fortune like this so easily.

He then looked towards the other 3 objects on his bed: the Infernal Fiendgod Sword, the Divine Saint Brush, and the unknown box. Seeing the information about the Sword and the Brush he discerned that these two treasures were currently incomplete as their power was not the same as described in the memories.

He would need to gather materials and Qi to complete the 2 treasures and make them whole.

He dropped blood on the sword and the brush and the same event occured with the book. This time he was able to stop himself from reacting to the pain.

The last object was the black container and when he looked at the locking mechanism he saw that the keyhole was circular with a pattern on the inside that would allow the mechanism to be unlocked. He has never seen a circular key in his house before and after a while, he remembered something.

He summoned the Divine Saint Brush and saw the bottom the brush had the same pattern as the box. It inserted into the keyhole perfectly and with a click, the box was unlocked. After calling the brush back into his body he opened the container and saw that there was only a black ring inside it.

When he placed his hand on the ring runes suddenly sparked to life on its black surface. He knew that this strange ring was also a treasure so he allowed his blood to drip on the ring.

He felt his consciousness pulled from his body and when he blinked he found himself in a world with nothing except a crucible, a blue orb, and a blue and red flame.

Wang Lin could already identify that it was the Ancient Crucible, the Empyrean Wind Lightning Orb, and the Monarch Frost Flame.

None of the items in this ring were complete just like the Divine Saint Brush and the Infernal Fiendgod Sword. The crucible was not able to refine everything in the world as the memories tell him, the Empyrean Wind Lightning isn't as powerful as the memories said, and the Monarch Frost Flame wasn't able to freeze and burn everything just as the memories said.

He would have to find opportunities to bring these treasures to its peak form.

Furnaces were used to refine artifacts and Cauldrons were used to refine pills, but Crucibles are used to refine both pills and artifacts. Wang Lin had no idea that crucibles were created by an Ancient Race of beings and no other races have been able to duplicate it, this causes them to be incredibly rare.

Wang Lin was able to pull himself out of the ring with the 3 objects and he was able to guess that this ring was some sort of storage unit cultivators use. He placed his blood on the crucible and similar to the other 3 objects, it merged with his soul. It seemed his soul got stronger as the pain from the merging wasn't as much as before.

But Wang Lin wasn't ready for the pain that the Empyrean Wind Lightning Orb would give him. When he dripped blood onto the orb he felt his entire body get shocked with lightning as blades of wind hit his skin tearing him apart. His eyes turned red as he yelled in his mind "I won't let this kill me! I have to get revenge for mother! I have to get a better life for father!"

After 30 minutes of pain, he was able to lift himself up from the floor and he found a new power inside of him that allowed him immense power despite never cultivating.

Despite the tattered appearance that he was in, Wang Lin didn't stop as he dropped blood on the Monarch Frost Flame. His body temperature started to fluctuate from immensely hot to immensely cold as the blue and red flames merged with his body, right next to the Empyrean Wind Lightning Orb. It took another 30 minutes but the merging was complete and his body was even stronger than before.

He didn't need Qi to activate the Wind Lightning nor the Frost Flames so he could easily slaughter mortals with it.

When all the treasures were merged with his body each treasure listed in the book started to shine golden showing that he successfully merged with it. He had no idea that if the seal didn't help him in the merging process then he wouldn't be able to live even if he had one-thousand lives.

He changed from his torn clothes into a new robe right before he heard a shout outside his room "Brother Lin! Are you there!"
