Chapter 4: A new type of Spirit

Standing in front of him were 3 boys the age of 6, eagerly staring at the crystal orb in his hands. Their different hair color scheme made the scene truly colorful, the white one his disciple, the pink and blue ones, his student friends.

Throughout the years, it was only natural for him to get close to them with Koto always bringing them in to their house. He already forgave them in his heart, for taking part of Koto's mini corruption because he saw how truly happy Koto was with them, although he felt their relationship becoming a tiny less of it once was.

Koto, having absorbed everything he had to offer, there was really nothing more he could do for the kid, putting him at an awkward position. He always knew Koto would eventually pass him, but to think it was quick, truly unbelievable.

Knowing a little more about spirit hall then the rest of the world, he wanted to keep these kids spirit a secret as something in his gut told them their spirits will be nothing but spectacular.

He had seen them cultivate the sutra manuel, one Koto was carrying inside the ring he wore when they first met.

Whoever left Koto that ring truly was a rich folk, unfortunately, with all the treasures it held, there was none to help him with breaking through to the 30th rank. Although, Koto spent many days looking for such a treasure, in the end they decided Koto will find the Spirit plant necessary to help.

"Long Tian, why don't you go first?" The tallest of them, one who was already as tall of a teen should be stepped up with determination. His short pale-ish blue hair were spiked to his shoulder, added with his built body truly gave out an imposing image, one that of a future war god.

Koto and the other kept their silence, they knew how important this was. Although they firmly believed in " no trash spirits, only trash people" they still hoped for a good spirit for their brother as it would truly make his future a lot easier.

"Im ready" Tian said with a firm nod, placing his right hand on the orb and closing his light purple eyes. A breezed seemed to have entered the room, blowing his light blue outfit in a small manner.

Xiao smiled, " remember, there is no trash spirits" kindly reminding him as he push his spiritual energy into the orb, connecting to Tian's hand. " you should now feel some sort of comfortable presence" Tian nodded in confirmation, " get a good feel it, is it hot? Is it cold? Is it warm?" Xiao slowly helped Tian recognize his own Ki.

Since very young, they had already been cultivating, and gathering Ki for the betterment of their bodies and spiritual capability. With Koto's research, they had discovered that with a strong body, one should be capable of withstanding the prowess of a higher aged ring then normal.

The increase in body strength in which it is trained to withstand and hold ki better, directly also increase the inner spirit space, space required to hold the spirit beast essence for rings.

Now, they needed to learn how to push the Ki out instead of in. Gathering Ki was a lot easier than manipulating it outside, for to do that, one must master or grasp the type of Ki they were born with, connect to it and through different methods, control it.

"It's cold yet comfortable" said Tian, with a pleased expression. He can feel it, His own Ki, he can feel it, His spirit, it was close, he was close… just a little more…

'As expected' Xiao thought, " Control the Ki to change into what you are feeling" guided Xiao, he knew the spirit would be one of the best as most spirits only required the presence of their owners Ki to awaken, while Tian actually needs to fully be able to control his Ki.

Spirits also affected their owners early on, especially beast, be it through body type, eyes, or even hair color. The spirit took part in deciding such things and looking at Tian, He could already make a few guesses about the spirit, such as it being associated with the element of ice.

The trio of brothers were undoubtedly geniuses pass their generation, destiny itself seemingly taking part of their meeting and friendship. Grasping his Ki, Tian quickly was able to grow an understanding of it, enough to control it and form his spirit!.

To the grandmaster, the room was quickly becoming colder and colder, until even his breath became visible! Releasing the orb to hug himself, he turned around to see some parts of the walls covered by ice!

Surprised by the effects of just the awakening of the spirit, he looked to see if Koto and Ling were fine. Strangely they were just fine, just standing there with big goofy grins, knowing their brother has awaken a powerful spirit for himself.

No, for Koto to be unaffected, it wasn't much of a surprise, but ling… ling always had a weaker body then his two brothers, even after training his body was still small and frail looking. It was nothing short of incredible for him to be unaffected when he, a grandmaster, was left to the point of shaking. Yet there he stood, unaffected and proudly supporting his brother " you can do it brother long!" he said, forgetting all of his shyness.

Turning back to Tian, he started hearing noises of 'CLINKS' as chunks of ice and snow form around Tian. Ice tinted blue started spreading out from his back, into his right arm forming spikes along the way. On his back, a huge ice wing sprouted, wings of ice covering almost the entire room, and in his hand, a large spear with snowflakes around it formed. Tian subconsciously mutter out "Reign over the Frosted Heavens, hyorinmaru"

Thinking it was over, Xiao couldn't help but exclaim " what an amazing spirit!" It was like nothing he has seen before, clearly one made to rule over the domain of ice! Getting ready to joke about the state the room was left in, the words became stuck in his throat.

The roam became even colder, greater amounts of snow hurled inside the room practically freezing up the place. Howlings could be heard from the whirlwind of snow, as it slowly died down. 'Twin Spirits!' Was the first thought everyone in the room shared.

They were all incredibly proud with no hint of envy.

Covered by the snow, a small snowy white pub could be seen shaking the snow off himself. 'A variant spirit beast like luo san pao' thought Xiao.

Looking around the room, it let out a small "yelp!" as it slowly made its way to Tian, slowly rubbing its head unto his leg. With his bruly body, and the pups small one, they truly made an interesting pair.

After the pup appeared, The ice had already started to vanish, along with the spear and wings. Bringing the temperature back to normal.

"That was amazinggg!!!" Ling yelled, scaring the pup into hiding behind Tian. Ling ran to Tian for a very big hug, sending congratulations after congratulations, even more happy for Tian than Tian himself. His small figure happily jumping up and down around Tian inspecting any changes.

He was of course the first one to notice Tian's hair turning a lighter blue. " brother! Brother! Your hair has changed" he said excitedly, Tian in turn lightly brush his hair with his hands, asking with curiosty " has it?" with a childish face unfit for his body. Looking at such a scene, one wouldn't think these two kids were of the same age at all. Ling's bright eyes, lightened even more and said " it has! It has!" repeating himself out of uncontrolled excitement.

'Even if you are shy, you are definitely still the one with the greatest energy, aren't you ling?' Koto thought with a happy smile. " congratulations Tian" he said, joining in the celebration while walking slowly to them, a huge grin present in his face.

"With such a strong spirit, you will surely become strong" koto said encouragingly, with that Tian responded " with you, brother" rather solemnly.

"Enough" xiao butted in, "I get why you three are all happy but we still have to test his spirit level, and after that we still have koto and ling to test, or have you guys forgotten that? Xiao halfheartedly reprimanded cause all the three boys to laugh sheepishly.

Everyone in the room knew with such strong spirits, and added to that, twin spirits, his spirit level must be at the highest, full innate spiritual power!

Still, just checking was no problem, and true to everyone's belief, Tian showed that he was at the spiritual rank of 10, ready to hunt for a spirit ring to further empower himself. Another round of congratulations came until it was Ling's turn to step up.

Closing his ruby eyes, encompassing the orb with his left hand, he slowly left out a breath for reasurrence. "You can do it!" " don't worry so much!" hearing the words behind him, he couldn't help but get even a little bit more nervous.

Slowly helping Ling like he did Tian, Xiao slowly felt himself heating up. Ling's spirit seemed to have a reaction from Tian as his wings suddenly appeared him, cooling down the room. The cold and hot battled and mixed into the normal temperature, they seemed to have been equal.

Xiao was glad Tian's spirit reacted in such a way, or else he wouldn't know how to deal with the heat. This explained why Ling was not affected by the cold from Tian.

In Lings left hand, an orb of pure black fire appeared, looking at it, a name appeared inside Lings head " amaterasu.. " he said in wonder. Releasing the fire, he pulled out his right hand, having felt another spirit.

Instead of on his hands, his pupils dilated and split into two, suddenly everything became clear to him. His eyesight becoming great enough to see certain things he hadn't been able to see before, looking at his brothers and the grandmaster, he could see cracks on them, less on Tian, more on Xiao, and none on Koto. " what am I seeing" he wondered out loud.

Looking at Ling, Xioa couldn't help but think " what tool spirit? What beast spirit? Is there not an elemental spirit just right in front of him?" in disbelief, the awakening in front of him just forced open and destroyed what he knew about spirit essence.

Turning to Koto, he muttered " will you be the same?"
