Jasper Indigo (part two)

The fist thing he pulled out were some old photos, it's rare to see physical pictures in this day and age actually.

"Oh my…this is me and G-ma when I was a kid, and this is from when I was in college…I didn't know she had all of these pictures this really takes me back."

Keep in mind that there is an entire crowd of people as well as cameras surrounding us. Jimmy was so emotional in the moment that he seemed to forget about all of that.

His eyes suddenly stopped on something as he reached into the corner of the metal box. What he pulled out was a letter that spanned several pages it seemed. He silently read it over for a minute. A single tear fell from his eye glistening in the bright lights.

Suddenly Jimmy hugged me out of nowhere and I was confused as the cameras swirled around us.

"I don't know how you knew about this, but thank you for giving me the courage to open this up."

"It was nothing…I was just relaying a message…"

"I-is she- is G-ma Norn still here?"

I had briefly seen an old lady smiling in the corner before disappearing into the light leaving a soft goodbye.

"She's gone now…I think that she just wanted for you to see that letter."

"It was worth reading, I thought that she was disappointed in what I had chosen to do with my life…but that couldn't be further from the truth, in this letter she told me just how proud she was."

"That's good to hear."

"This segment is running longer than scheduled, to think that you are not only a magician but a real psychic that's amazing. Everyone give a round of applause for the amazing miss Jasper Indigo!"

I bowed formally as the stadium lit up with a roaring audience. When the show was over the producers told me that was the best television segment they filmed in years.

They were so impressed in fact that they offered me a recurring time slot to come back and perform next week. The check they had written out had so many zeros it made my head spin.

That was how I became known as a magic psychic that can communicate with the dead.

It sounds nice sure, even I thought the whole thing was too good to be true at first…

There I was humming silently while laying on my bed one calm evening. My foster parents had already gone to sleep for the night. I was just flipping through my cards like usual making note of any that were becoming too tethered to use.

I was hearing some weird sounds out in the living room, almost like someone was sliding around with their back on the floor or something. It was midnight so it was hard to believe anyone was still awake other than me.

I got up to go get myself a drink and check what was going on out there. Funny enough, the moment I twisted the doorknob is when the scuffles out there stopped. I just thought to myself 'huh' and proceeded to open my bedroom door.

I was surprised to see the hall light was off, that was unusual. I tried to turn the switch on but nothing happened, everything seemed to be just so dark. None of the fans or clocks were on, It was like anything that was electric was broken out here.

I walked toward the fridge and grabbed myself a drink. It was also not working, a fuse must have blown or something.

Well, it's not really my problem but if all the food goes bad I'll feel a little guilty I guess. Is it worth waking everyone up at this hour though? I mean, obviously I can't just go playing in the panel box myself I'll probably just get electrocuted in the process.

After a few moments I shrugged and turned on my heel. I opened the bottle and took a sip of the crispy carbonized fluid inside while walking back towards my room. Eh, I'll just leave tomorrows problems for tomorrow.

Suddenly the lights came on and lit up all of my surroundings. I was startled for a second, my heart felt like it had stopped but then I sighed and laughed a little bit.

Heavy foot steps echoed behind me as I walked down the hall. It felt strange, but even weirder still was the heavy breathing and strange reverberating animal noise. My stomach began churning as I suddenly realized that something dark, something that wasn't human was letting their presence be known.

I opened my door and quickly attempted to shut it without looking behind me. Unfortunately, just through the cracks I saw it.

A tall dark thing with black skin, long twisted fingers with the skull of a deer for a head. It's antlers stretching out covered with blood running down from the tips. It let out a horrific screech that will haunt my dreams for the rest of my life.

I shut my door and fell to my knees trembling in terror.

All I could do was listen to the scuffling of something sliding around on the floor outside my door all night.

The next morning that thing followed me everywhere I went. No matter where I was, walking through town, in the bathroom, it was always there. I was picking up my pace, trying to run away from it.

That was when I ran into some old guy, hot coffee spilled everywhere making a mess. I felt bad about it, but just as I began apologizing to him that creature had appeared. It was standing just inches away, what does this thing want from me?

If it wanted to kill me I'm sure i'd be dead by now. On the same note I don't think that anything this thing does want is good at all. Thus I ran away from it, or tried at least.
