Chapter 9: The Outing

Celine Lebrun's POV

I was so angry that I just tossed the C4 into its place. Lucia said that she will put the plan into motion tomorrow as I was checking the last minute details that will make our plan smoothly. I cannot blame her as I was trying to get out of here as well.

Now that Simone was following me everywhere.

Yesterday, he told me that we will be going for an outing to the town. I guess it was convenient so that I can get out of here and no one will know better about it. I hoped it will not be an awkward thing between us or anything. But I do wish it was a date.

Pfft, as if!

I was now in the lobby of the main building which we were not allowed to come but it was Simone's idea and Dr. Sean has approved it. I was waiting for him as he was late. He was never late to any of our meetings before.

"Celine, have you been waiting long?" Simone asked before I rolled my eyes at the annoying voice behind me.

"Dr. Laverte, if you are going to be late, at least have decency—" I said as I turned to look at him but my sentence stuck in my throat.

There he was, in an immaculate casual t-shirt without the lab coat. He looked young compared to others as he was wearing black denim and sunglasses. I scoffed as he wore it inside the building.

"You don't have to wear it inside you know. It was just for the sun,"

"For you, maybe but my eyes were super sensitive so I took precautions whenever I was around fluorescent lights," he said as he gestured to the main door.

"Shall we?" He said as he walked past me before I can say anything. I swear this guy was getting on my nerves today and he has nothing to do anything about it!

I was on the passenger seat whereas Mr. Simone Laverte was driving us out of the facility. I know that we were still inside the hospital which has landed more than they should but whatever. It's not like I was going to stay here anyway.

I was looking at the man beside me. He was cool and steady right now. I wonder if he ever went on a date before. I know he's a virgin before we shared the bed but I think he might have a girlfriend or two in the past.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" He asked, amused by the staring that I involuntarily did toward him. My face was hot.

"Nothing. I was just looking around," I lied. I was checking him out.

"Liar," he whispered but we were silent afterward. Then, all hell broke loose.

There were screaming around as I saw smoke coming from the main building. There were lots of people there and I don't think that they were aware of what Lucia and I were planning.

"Dear God, what have I done?" I whispered as Simone was looking at the smoke. We have stopped to look at people that were running around and I think Simone was ticking his jaws.

"Let's go," he said before he put the stick into D and drove off from the facility that was in panic and chaos.

"Slow down!" I was shouting at the top of my lungs as I saw Simone was driving like a mad man. If I knew anything, he did not know how to steer the wheels.

"Will you shut up? I'm trying to concentrate here!" he shouted back before I was gripping the handle.

"Well, if you know how to make sure that we were on the safe side of the road, maybe I can calm down and just enjoy the ride," I replied before I saw a car was heading our way.

"Simone," I warned him but he kept going. They were increasing in speed if anything.

"Simone, stop!" I shouted at him but Simone just gripped the wheels tighter.

"Hang on!" he shouted before we were slamming against the vehicle that was coming our way. I hit the dashboard and everything was blurry. We were screaming and windows were breaking. I did not know what happened but one thing for sure, we were all dead as fas as I'm concerned.

Simone Laverte's POV

"So, you have come to meet me," the captain said as I was in the room of his office. It was a nice touch that he had a taste for something ghastly.

"Are you the captain?" I asked as he snickered at me.

"It depends. Why are you looking for me?" He asked but he knows exactly why I was here right now.

"I need baggage," I said as he looked at me with an arched eyebrow.

"Who sent you?" He asked but I was gulping that he was narrowing his eyes at me.

"I asked you who sent you and you need to answer me before my crew takes you out," he said as he warned me if I ever lied, he will kill me alive. Well, thanks for the nice hospitality then.

"Dr. Sean Copper. He sent me as he said I needed baggage as well," I said before the captain was nodding at me.

"Where to?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Where do you from? The baggage will be sent there," he said as he was rolling my eyes at me. I never knew that this captain was such a pain in the ass.

Let alone the captain was a woman, no less.

"Um, Wales, UK. I'm from there," I said as she nodded at me.

"Well, it's settled then. The payment will be due once it's arrived on your footsteps," she said as she nodded at me before I was escorted out of her office. I don't know what she meant by that time but now I do.

I was laying on the ground with Celine next to me. Her mane was flowing with blood as I was trying to reach her hand.

"I'm sorry," I said as I looked at her. She was breathing slowly, thank goodness she was still alive. If I have known it will be like this, I will not agree. But I think it will be the best course of action afterward.

I saw Sean and Lucia were on the other side of another car. They were bleeding but the captain and her crew have come to aid us. I hoped they will believe this and everything will be back to normal.

We were given some drugs that keep our heartbeats low enough to be passed as passing away. But we knew better. This technology or creation of this drug was a fucking genius.

"It will be okay now," the captain said as she was loading me and Celine up into our baggage. We were ready to leave this island and I think the month was already up even I have 2 more weeks to overcome.

But I made my decision and I think my lawyer will be happy to know that I was home for good, no more this doctor dreams and certainly, I have found the love of my life.

Nothing feels more perfect than this.
