Chapter 5

When the golden plate was with Abayomi's hand, she starts to read the symbol, and performs a ritual while rubbing it. After a few moments, the land suddenly moves beside the lake ....

While Khazar and Haley were hugging each other, Khazar felt that the ground was moving. Meanwhile, the land quakes beside the lake and soon after, there an Anubis slowly coming out from the ground. His body is muscular like a man, but his feet, hands and heads like a jackal, about 7 feet tall.

While the family was having fun, James noticed that Haley wasn't there.

"Hon, where is Haley?" he nodded.

Lucy's eyes fluttered around, and only then she noticed that Haley was not there.

"She is not here again oh!" she sighed in dismayed.

She asked Chloe.

"Have you seen Haley?"

"She's just right here recently, maybe she went back in our room,"

"And why she doesn't get along with us?"

"Maybe she is reading her book?"

"What's up with that kid, there's a lot of time to read a book when we get home,"

"Okay aunt Lucy, I'll check our room, I'm sure she is just there reading."

"Much better, if you saw her, please tell her to come here and mingle with us, she just wasting her time, we're going home tomorrow in the afternoon anyway,"

"Okay then aunt Lucy," Chloe replied.

Chloe came out of the bath house, as she was walking down the hall way, she looked out the window, and she heard a trample coming from the outside. She steps near it but it was dark. She move closer, but she sees nothing but the moonlight that seen from the high window. She shrugged her shoulder and about to turn around, then suddenly, she heard another noise. She gazed again at the window, and there she saw something.

"My gosh what is that?" she moves more closer to take a look. And there, she saw a strange shadow from the afar.

"What the?" She wondered. She reflected the shape of the Anubis. Chloe walked back from the window, felt scared but can't able to scream.

She ran back to the bath house as fast as she could. When she got there, she still in shocked and can't say anything. Lucy saw her frightened face.

"Chloe, what is wrong with you? Why you look scared? Did you see Haley now?" Lucy asked constantly. "N-not…" She tried to speak but no words coming out, her mouth went dry and stiffed.

"What happened to you Chloe?"

"I-I saw something!" she murmured and look around.

"What did you said?" Lucy can't barely hear her because of the loud music in the bath house. "A-aunt Lucy, I saw a strange creatures outside the window, I was so scared, I didn't get into our room!" her voice trembles and it shows how terrified she was.

"What are you talking about Chloe?"

"Let's get out of here!" Chloe exclaimed.

The bath house was full of noise because Oliver was playing loud sounds.

"Stay calm, maybe you're just getting a hallucination,"

"I-I don't know but, I really saw a shadow of a strange thing, looks like a beast!"

"It's only a shadow after all, forget it, come on and have fun!"

"But aunt!" Chloe gasped.

"Chloe my dear, its only a shadow, maybe a shadow of the mythical statue that stands anywhere here, okay? I will be the one to find Haley, join them and have fun, it's our last night here!" Lucy shook her head as she held Chloe's arm.

"You don't have to be scared okay? You have to enjoy!" Trying to console her, she walked with her inside the bath house, Chloe sat in the corner.

"I'll just want to sit here aunt Lucy," she said feeling uneasy.

"Well, okay then,"

After a moment, while they were having fun, Anubis entered through the window. When the Anubis step inside, he walked in and over heard the music from the bath house.

Chloe just nodded and sat down in the corner and hugged her knees. "What is it?" Still, unsure for what she saw. After a while, Anubis suddenly went inside the bath house. Chloe felt that there something coming in, she glanced at the door, and there she was horrified when she saw the Anubis.

"Ahhhhhhh!" She screamed. But no one heard her because the sounds were too loud, and enjoying themselves. Chloe turned of the speaker situated next to her. All of them was suddenly paused for what their doing when the sounds stopped.

Then, everybody was startled when they heard Chloe's screamed, they glanced on the door, and they saw the Anubis was entering. "Grhhhg!" Anubis growled.

They all screamed in fear and fall back in their places.

The youngsters quickly approached their parents, and they gathered in terror.

Meanwhile, in Khazar's room,

"Khazar I want to saw you something," Haley said and she is about to show her amulet pendant to him. But suddenly, they overheard the screams.

"My family?!" Haley exclaimed and felt nervous.

Khazar paused for a while.

"Oh no! She used the golden plate!" Khazar venting out.

"Khazar, what we gonna do? I'm scared!"

"Just stay with me!"

The two of them quickly put their clothes on, then Khazar grabbed the sphere hanged on the wall and carried Haley, they went up to spiral staircase.

And when they reached the top, he lowered Haley and made their way to the bath house. Haley was terrified while she heard the screams from the bath house. She held Khazar's arms.

In the meanwhile, Haley's family was screaming in fear, they all nodded at appearance of the Anubis approaching them.

"GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!GRRR!" Anubis growled.

They cannot move, they were trapped.

And in a moment, the five male servants came in, and they are startled when they saw the Anubis in the middle, growling and staring at the family. They took the sphere that attached in the wall, and prepared themselves to fight against it.

They fought the Anubis, but unfortunately they fell down and killed. The family more likely to cry out in fear....."We're going to die!" Chloe's eccentric voice, they couldn't get out of the place, Anubis blocked their way.

After a while, female servants came in, they shocked at what they saw, the Anubis turned his attention to them, and he stabbed them one by one with his spheres.

After killing the female servants, the Anubis turns to them again and slowly approached them. "Grrgh!" Growling.

The Anubis glanced at Chloe. Then suddenly, the Anubis grabbed her neck and lifted in the air. On the verge of blacking out, she looked at the eyes of wild, frothing beast and found no trace or remorse of emphaty.

Allen came to save his daughter but the Anubis kicked him and threw him over the wall. "Allen!" Eleanor cried.

As the Anubis attacks Chloe, suddenly, salvation arrived in the form of Khazar, with his eyes wide and nostril flared. "C-Chloe!" worried Haley as she hid in the doorway.

When Khazar came in, Anubis noticed him right away, and there, it throws Chloe and falls to the floor. It took a moment for Chloe to comprehend that she was rescued, then Chloe immediately runs to her mother and still trembling from the attacked. Khazar and the Anubis confronted and fought back, exchanging arms with their spheres. Suddenly, Khazar cut off the head of the Anubis. Everyone was amazed at what Khazar did, and when the Anubis fell into the floor, they all ran out of the bath house. Allen back his consciousness, his son Oliver help him to walk. They saw Haley outside the door.

"Haley!" Lucy gasped when she saw her. She hugged her. "Oh thank God you are safe!" Lucy exclaimed. "Lets get out of here!" Eleanor shouted. They all ran down the hall way, going to the exit of the main door.

"What the hell is that?" Kyle mumbled under his rapid breath, as he held Jazzy's hand who was still in fear.

They all looked at Khazar, "You, do you know what is that huh?" Oliver asked Khazar.

Khazar was just about to say something but suddenly, there was another Anubis approaching from nowhere. Khazar guarded the family hiding behind him.

He prepared himself to clash with the Anubis, he holds the sphere and waiting for it to attack him. Haley was holding Khazar's arms. "Stay away Haley, its dangerous!" Khazar ordered, "Be careful!" Haley said helplessly as she released her grip on Khazar.

Then the Anubis starting to confronted Khazar. Then he soon cut off its head. But thereafter, another Anubis was approaching, he fought again and killed it. The family was terrified when they saw the two lifeless Anubis sprawled in the floor. Khazar told them to stay calm and follow him. They all followed Khazar who was leading the way. And when they arrives at the main door, Khazar opens it.

"We need to get into the white house, I need to stop Abayomi!" Khazar said while opening the door.

"Anubis?" James said wondering,

"Yes, they are Anubis, came from the underworld!"

They were all scared, they had many more questions to ask but James stopped them.

"This is not the right time to ask questions for now, all we need to do is to survive and to get out of here!" James exclaimed. And when they came out from the Castle House, suddenly another Anubis came out, Khazar fought again until he killed it, but every time he kills one, another one will always come out in just a matter of seconds.

Now then five Anubis versus Khazar, they attacked him.

But Khazar bravery fought back, Haley was very worried when she sees Khazar fighting with the Anubis. She felt the first tear slide down the slope of her flushed cheek.

"Khazar!" Haley cried out. The family can't help but watching at Khazar, he is fighting alone against the Anubis. A few minutes later, Khazar killed them all. "Let's go!" He said to them then he carried Haley.

"I need to stop Abayomi from doing her ritual!" Khazar said anxiously.

And when they get into the door step. Khazar banged the door.

"Abayomi please open the door! Stop doing this Abayomi! I'm begging you!" Khazar said loudly, while banging the door.

While Abayomi was doing her rituals, she was suddenly interrupted by Khazar's shout out. She looks out the small window and saw Haley's entire family, and then she saw Khazar and Haley were holding each other hands. Abayomi became more and more angry and did not open the door, she double locked it instead, and she resumed her rituals.

A moment after, another Anubis appeared, Khazar confronted it again. While Khazar was fighting, James saw the tourist van.

"That was the van we were riding in, we need to escape, let's go now!" James called out. Then again, Khazar killed the Anubis.

"Khazar, let's go, we need to get out of here!" Haley said, but as she said this, another Anubis approaching from the distance. Not just one or two, but seven.

"Just leave Haley, I'll take care of this!" Khazar said urgently.

"But how about you, I just can't leave you here!" Haley cried.

"Forget about me, what important is you to survive with your family! All of you, you must leave!" Khazar said quickly, urgently, then he hugged and kissed Haley for one last time. Haley's family looked at the two of them and exchange glanced to each other, wondered.

"Haley let's go!" James said with panicked and trembling voice, he about to grab Haley's hand but Haley embraced Khazar tightly as she doesn't want to let go of him. And soon after, the Anubis was near approaching.

"Come on, we don't have time, we have to leave!" James exclaimed, but Haley doesn't want to go with James and still clings to Khazar. "Haley please go!" Khazar said urgently. Kyle approached Haley. "Lets go Haley!" Kyle said, and he helped his father to grabbed Haley. But Haley start to struggles.

"I can't leave him!" Haley cried while still clinging on Khazar's arm.

"Are you out of your mind?" Kyle said furiously. Haley's hand slipped away from Khazar's arm due to Kyle and James dragging her away.

Khazar then fight with the Anubis and kills them one by one, but each time he kills one, another new one coming from nowhere. In the meanwhile, Allen and Oliver intervene in opening the Van.

Haley sees Khazar fighting alone, and the Anubis were constantly appeared. Haley's tears fell into her eyes while gazing at Khazar's non-stop fought with the Anubis, her father and brother pulling her away. "We need to go now!" His father said urgently.

Allen and Oliver finally opened the door of the van. "Let's get in!" Allen said hurriedly. Kyle grabbed Haley's arm tightly.

Kyle forced her to get into the van. "Get in!" Kyle said furiously. When they all got in, James didn't know how to start the engine because he don't have the key.

Oliver approached and did something to get the van to operate, and when the engine start, James drive immediately. Haley peeked in the windshield and saw Khazar alone fighting the unstoppable coming of the Anubis. Haley is very worried for Khazar. Then the van starts moving. After a couple of minutes, Haley couldn't stop herself.

"Dad! Please stop the van!" She cried helplessly.

"What? I can't, we need to leave!" James said and he drove faster.

"What is wrong with you Haley? Are you crazy?" Kyle furrowed his eyebrows.

"I have to go back to him!"

"No! Stop this none sense Haley, what's wrong with you!" Kyle said, his tone altering from angry to desperate, then he hugged his girlfriend.

"Kyle! He saved our lives! We should not have left him!" she retorted, her eyes was shimmering with fresh tears, her gazed shifting to the windshield and glimpsed at Khazar as he still fought alone against the Anubis.

"I know, but we can do nothing more, we will die!" Kyle shouted furiously.

"If we come back! What will happen to us? What can we do?" Allen said.

"Yes that's right, we have no choice just to leave him," Eleanor mumbled.

Haley just kept quiet as her tears flowed. She sat next to Chloe and leaned beside her.

"Haley, keep strong, please forget about him, our safety matters," Chloe said and rubbed Haley's shoulder comfortingly. Haley was speechless and her tears continued to flow.

"I can't imagine there such a kind of creatures in castle house! Why is that became a tourist spot then?" Allen said with confusion.

"No one is aware that something like this is happening at the castle house," James straining voice while driving.

"I'm scared!" Jazzy said quietly, her words muffled into Kyle's sweat-soaked shirt.

"Hurry up James, we need to get out of here as fast as we can!" Lucy said nervously.

"We will gonna make it!"
