John quietly said "I see you are making the correct logical conclusions.  When my grandmother re-married, she married the then Crown Prince of Country M, who ascended the throne on the death of his father about four weeks after my uncle was born.  My mother would have been about twenty at that time and had commenced her relationship with my father."

"But there was a little quirk of the laws in Country M, that my mother learnt of when I was about eight or nine years old.  My Uncle, the crown prince, would have been about twelve or thirteen.  Prior to then, my grandfather allowed my uncle to spend a couple of weeks twice a year with us, at that time my uncle demanded that he come to school here."
