5 Years Later (1)

- "Whoever you are, I'll make you regret killing my son!"

____________

-5 years later-

-"Come on Sylfiel! Where are you? We've gotta hurry."

-"I'm coming, grandma Edea!"

A girl looking to be 7 years old, stepped out of her room. She had pointy ears, and different coloured eyes, one blue, and one green. She wore a beautiful white silk dress, embroidered with gold. Her hair was silver, and it hung down to her elbows.

She lived in a little hut, created with what seemed to represent bamboo. The girl named Sylfiel ran out her room, ran through the corridor out to the entrance of the house where her grandma, Monda, was waiting for her. Her grandma didn't look old at all, compared to her age. She looked beautiful, with smooth skin, good curves and beautiful hair and eyes. She wore a warm smile, looking at the little Sylfiel that came running down the corridor of the house.

-"We've got to hurry now, or else we'll be late!"

-"I know, I know grandma."

-"Don't you 'I know' me you little runt."

Edea looked at Sylfiel with impatient eyes and a harsh tone could be heard when her voice sounded.

-"We'll be going to the palace today. It's the first time in years it's been opened to the public."

A hint of curiosity could be seen drift through the eyes of Edea, while she looked up into the sky as if remembering her old days back when she was young.

While the two walked down the pathway, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of nature, a couple of shadows could be spotted up in the treetops, that were over 30 metres in height.

-"Grandma, do you know why the palace is suddenly open for everyone?"

-"I'm not entirely sure, but one of my old friends told me the royal family found some sort of treasure when they came back from the battlefield. They'll probably be showing it when we arrive."

Walking up the pathway, they soon arrived at ladders that took them into the treetops. They crawled up to find themselves in a city build in trees. Hundreds of treehouses were connected using bridges made from wood and string. At the middle with the largest tree, windows could be spotted placed in the bark. The tree had been hollowed, allowing the palace of the royal family to settle down in the middle of the Elven Kingdom's capital city, Afrenthas.

Walking along the bridges were hundreds if not thousands of elves, each representing extreme beauty and wisdom. Each had different hair colours, eyes and clothing.

After a walk of a couple of minutes, Edea and Sylfiel arrived in front of the palace entrance in the centre tree. The entrance was extremely white, dazzling anyone looking at it. Different patterns had been carved into the front door while gold could be spotted decorating it.

The area in front of the palace doors was overcrowded with people, leaving almost no space for the ones still on the way.

*CREAK*

The doors of the palace opened, and the people flooded inside, without thinking about letting others come first. Since it had been over a century since the doors had last been opened, the people were eager to see the reason for this time it opened.

Hundreds of statues, made from the purest of marble, were placed on each side of the corridor leading towards the hall. Each of the statues represented one of the emperors that had lived throughout the ages.

The doors leading to the hall were already open, and inside sat the royal family. Hundreds of pillars that seemed to be over 70 metres tall, held onto the roof of the palace, that had been built inside the biggest tree.

Behind the current emperor of the elves sat an extremely huge crystal that seemed to contain magma, moving around without an end. It almost reached the roof of the palace, only going a few metres short. On the outside of the crystal, were different patterns and carvings, that seemed to represent fire, dragons and strength. The magma kept moving on the inside of the crystal as if the temperature inside of it didn't change at all. In the middle could be spotted a slight shadow of something that represented a dragon, curled into a ball.

-"Woah, what's that?"

Almost all of the elves gasped at the same time when they set their sight on the red magma crystal. Thousands of elves entered the hall, and some went up the stairs to the second floor, to be able to make enough space for everyone. Every elf represented beauty, humans could never dream to obtain.

A couple of minutes went by as hundreds of gasps and bewildered faces could be spotted amongst the crowds of elves that kept on entering into the palace.

*CREAK*

When another 15 minutes passed by, and the doors of the hall closed, with yet another long creak. As soon as the doors closed, silence spread throughout the hall as every elf present placed their attention on their emperor.

The emperor, although old, had smooth skin and looked like a youth. He had black hair, reaching down his back and his eyes seemed to contain all sorts of different knowledge only available to the royals. He radiated an aura of purity and dignity, and he had a calm expression in his crystal-blue eyes.

Suddenly, the emperor moved and he stood up, instantly making everyone watch his every move.

-"As you all know, 5 years ago, the third Prince of the Giants was cruelly murdered out on the battlefield in the outer region of Glorica. Although the Giants initiated a thorough search, nothing was found throughout these 5 years. Except, for this magma crystal behind me. It was given to us elves as a betrothal gift for the marriage between their Crown Prince and Princess Elora."

Shifting his sight towards a seemingly young woman standing beside him, the emperor explained their current situation. Multiple gasps could be heard from the crowd, coming from young boys feeling dazzled at the beauty of their princess.

-"Because of their generous gift, and the love between the Princess and the Crown Prince, the marriage will be held in a couple of months."

After finishing his sentence, the emperor once again sat down on his throne, while wearing a warm smile and happiness could be spotted within his eyes. Because he was extremely old and wise, he was also extremely respected, but also hated by some. Suddenly, Princess Elora stood up and walked up to the magma crystal standing behind them. She gently touched it with her hand, and her sweet smile changed to that of confusion. She turned around and whispered in her father's ear.

-"I can sense life inside the crystal. It's in perfect condition."
