The Tomb

The sky was dark and the clouds were gray.

And I flinched when thunder roared from the bay.

'Ha~ What perfect weather to go grave visiting.'

Craige said that it's been a long time since he visited his parents' graves and he thought that he found the perfect excuse for doing so today. And that was to introduce me to them.

So, as soon as we reached their graveyard, Craige made a bow and did just that.

"Mom… Dad… This is Zeanne. She's the girl that I am dating."

Not sure about their customs, I just followed what he did and politely lowered my head for a bow as well. Although deep inside, I found all of this really awkward because I've always been taught that when someone dies they are subjected to deep sleep and have no consciousness whatsoever. And that meant greeting and paying respect to a mount of soil was futile.

'The things that humans do to find comfort and lessen their grief… It's foolish and genius at the same time.'
