Lena heard the voice and then whispered, "Where... am I?"
The voice said, "you are in the hospital. You've been in here for a week."
Lena jolted up and looked towards the person speaking. Finally, she recognized who it was.
"James... you came for me..."
"Of course. You are my best friend."
Lena's sadness came over her again. She remembered that he fell in love with someone else. But he still cares for her. He must love her, or he wouldn't be like this. He must be bewitched by that Tina.
"Can we... get back together?" Lena asked nervously. She already knew his answer, but still could not believe it. She must hear it from him.
"No." He said. Then he got up from his seat next to the bed and began to walk out.
"Where are you going, James?"
He turned his head back towards her and said, "since you will only misunderstand if I stay, I should leave now. I'm sorry."
"Wait! James!" Lena reached her arm out towards him, trying to stop him, but it was too late. He was already gone.
A tear began to fall from Lena's eyes again. "Why..." She muttered, "why can he not see me?" She then wiped her tears and leaned back against the bed, to seem as if she was not crying at all.
Lena then heard footsteps from the hallway, and her eyes lit up. He came back!
But then Lena was disappointed because it was not him. It was the doctor. The doctor walked in and smiled. She said, "You're finally awake! I'm the person who has been taking care of you while you were asleep."
The doctor has a bright smile that Lena could not find any fault in, and had beautiful golden hair. She looked cheerful in every way. But the cheerfulness did not hide any gracefulness she carried. She seemed unique and perfect, almost too much so.
"Oh right!" The doctor said, "I should introduce myself! My name is..."
Lena was shocked when she heard the doctor's name.
"Dr. Tina S."
