James finally decided what his answer should be.
"Ok. Let's be friends. But we can never be anything more than that." James smiled as he said that and then walked away, leaving Lena standing there stunned at his smile.
"His smile is so handsome." She thought, "and now I have the advantage. Even though he refused to get back together again, I still can meet him whenever I please. I can try to win his heart."
Then she looked around the room and realized that he already left. She walked out the way she came, but now instead of being angry she was humming a love song.
She left as easily as she came, and forgot entirely about the other reason she came: to scold James about not visiting her as soon as she was discharged.
"Oh well." She thought, not caring about this matter in the least, "I got what I want, so something like this doesn't really matter anymore."
She looked around outside, admiring the scenery at James's house once again, and got into her car to go home.
At the time, she did not realize that this was the last time she would ever be able to leave his place in good spirits.
