The Voice

As Lena was comforting Tina with a hug, she heard a voice outside the bar. When she heard that voice, she became alert.

She knew that voice well... it was James's voice.

'No!' Lena thought in panic. 'I can't let them meet! Why is he here?'

Then she backtracked again. 'Maybe it's not him. Maybe it's someone with a similar voice.'

But then she heard the voice again. It was clearer than last time, but she still could not make out the words he said. And this time, Lena was completely sure that it was James.

And what was worse was that the voice seemed to be coming closer to them!

'I absolutely can't lower them meet!' Lena thought. Then she stopped hugging Tina and stood up.

"Where... are you going?" Tina asked gently. Lena smiled and thought of the perfect excuse.

"You're a mess now. Come on, let's get you cleaned up." She beckoned for Tina to come with her.

However, Tina was too drunk to stand up properly. Lena had to come closer to her and gently lift her into her feet. She also had to help her walk.

Lena was panicking again. Time was quickly running out. James was already in the bar, it was only a matter of time before he saw them.

Lena quickly escorted Tina into the bathroom and spent an hour helping her clean herself up. Tina was not really that much of a mess, but Lena took her time.

Lena walked out of the bathroom first to see if James was still there, and if she could bring Tina out without him noticing.

She did not see him...
