She did not see him...

Lena did not see James when she walked out of the bathroom, so she went back to Tina and helped her walk. She wanted to rush just in case James was still there.

But Tina could not handle walking too quickly. She was drunk, and she needed support to stand at every step.

Lena quickly understood this, so she helped Tina walk to her car. Once they got to her car, she put Tina in the backseat so that she could lay down, and as she was about to go to the front seat, she heard James's voice. She quickly closed the door.

She knew it would be suspicious if she did not greet James, so it was better to let him know she was there. He would know that she was there anyways, because he knew her license plate and car, and he would probably see her driving away from where he was standing, so Lena had to get him.

Especially since she always greets him whenever she sees him, or doesn't see him, for that matter.

"Hi, James! It's such a coincidence to see you here!" Lena said, almost shouting. Her legs were shaking, but fortunately he could not see that because her car was in front of her.

She locked her car and walked up to James. Now that they were away from her car, it was safer for her to speak without being discovered.
