Hiding Tina

James smiled. "Yes. It's a surprise to see you here. You usually don't come to places like this, is something going on that I should know about?"

Lens shook a little, and she hoped that James did not notice her shaking.

"I came here to meet with a friend. She left already, so I'm about to leave. Why did you come here?"

"I'm here for a business meeting. I just finished signing an important contract."

He then pointed out her shaking.

"Are you cold? You're shivering. Would you like to borrow my jacket?" James asked. He had a worried expression on his face, and suddenly Lena felt happy that she was shaking.

She managed to get some of James's worry. He cares for her. She was almost jumping in joy when she heard him ask if she wanted his jacket, but she quickly calmed herself. Tina was still in her car. She must not let him see Tina.

"No. But thank you. The inside of my car is warm, so I won't be cold for long." She scolded herself internally for rejecting his jacket, but she also praised herself for thinking of an excuse to leave and get Tina out of his possible line of sight.

"I see..." James said. He was unsure of what to say next, so he decided to leave. "Well, Lena, be safe on your way home. Make sure to wear warm clothes. It is getting colder outside at this time of year."

Lena smiled. "Thank you. And you be safe as well." Then she walked over to her car and got in. She drove away, and James watched as her car left.

"There's someone else in her car." He muttered to himself. But he did not decide to follow her.

And so, the first meeting between James and Tina was completely missed. And this was all because of Lena.
