The Second Call

After calling Liz, Lena had to make sure that the plan works correctly. She looked at her phone again and this time called Tina.

The phone rang for a while, but the call did not go through. When the phone stopped ringing, Lena called again, but Tina still did not answer.

Finally, on the third time that she called, the phone was picked up.

"Hi Lena. Is something the matter? It's really late, and I had just fallen asleep before the phone woke me up."

"I'm sorry for disturbing you so suddenly. I wanted to call you before I forgot."

"Forgot what?"

"I was invited to a party this afternoon with a bunch of my other friends, and I asked if I could bring someone else. They agreed, of course, so I immediately thought of bringing you. You're don't mind, do you? Would you be willing to come over to the party? It's next week on Sunday."

"Is it really okay for me to come?"

Lena sneered inside of her head. "Of course it's okay! Tomorrow, let's go shopping and I'll buy you a dress. Then we can go to the party together on Sunday!"

"But... how will I get to the party?"

"Don't worry about that! I'll pick you up from your house! Where is your address?"

Tina gave Lena her address, and then hung up the phone to go back to sleep. Lena was smiling; she had succeeded in getting Tina to come.

Now she only hoped that Liz would do her part.
