Brother is home

"Hey ya, big bro!" A girl peeks through the slightly open door. "Do you need someone to talk to?" The girl offers a gentle smile, showing her concern for her brother.

Emery forced a smile. "Come in," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. He gestured for his younger sister to join him on the bed. He removed his feet from the floor, and his sister sat down next to him, her presence only serving to deepen his sadness.

Emery has two siblings: Erza, who is the second child, and Elya, the youngest. Emery's sister recently graduated from a local university and has started working at a government agency in the big city. Meanwhile, Elya is still pursuing their bachelor's degree in college. Despite their age differences, Emery and their siblings have a close bond, more akin to best friends, and can confide in each other about anything, even their deepest secrets.

Erza is a stunning woman with an alluring presence that captivates those around her. She possesses a small and graceful figure that carries an air of confidence. Her eyes are a deep shade of emerald green, reflecting her intelligence and warmth. Erza's long, flowing auburn hair cascades down her back, adding to her elegant and sophisticated appearance. Her smile is infectious, lighting up her face and making others feel at ease in her presence.

Erza gazed at Emery's gloomy face and asked, "So, she finally asked for a divorce?"

Emery let out a deep sigh and replied, "Yes, she finally said it out loud." His shoulders slumped in defeat. His voice was barely above a whisper. "She said she couldn't take it anymore."

Erza's expression turned sympathetic, and she placed a hand on Emery's shoulder as she asked, "Are you sure about it, big bro? I'm worried. Are you going to just let her go like that?"

Emery shrugged his shoulders and replied with a resigned tone, "I messed up, and I have to face the consequences."

"What do you mean?" Erza's forehead furrowed with concern. "Have you considered trying to win her heart back? It seems like you still care about her deeply." Erza's tone shifted from friendly to empathetic. She was disappointed that her brother had let go of such a wonderful and beautiful person. Erza cherished Rhea like a sister and wanted her to be happy.

"You are still young and there's a lot of things you don't know about." Emery rubbed Erza's head, ruffling her hair.

"Excuse me, big bro! I'm a working adult now. I'm not a schoolboy like our younger brother." Erza grumbled and forcefully removed Emery's hand from her head. "You always have a bunch of old flames hanging around. It's no wonder your marriage is falling apart. Rhea was clearly bothered by your ex-girlfriends who can't seem to keep their hands off you."

Emery smiled sadly. "I can handle my old flames. But Rhea ..."

"What's wrong with her?" Erza asked, glancing at Emery with suspicion. She seemed to be wondering if there was anything wrong with Rhea's behavior, considering that her brother had a reputation as a bad boy while Rhea appeared to be a well-brought-up lady from a good family.

"Rhea has more than an old flame." Emery lay down on his bed and covered his face with a pillow, feeling sorry all of a sudden.

Erza was taken aback when she saw Emery's exasperated demeanor. Typically, when upset, he'd shield his face to hide his frustration from others. "What do you mean?" she asked the same question for the second time, her eyes widening in surprise.

"I'm going to bed. Nite little sister." Regardless of Erza's concern, Emery continued to bottle up his feeling. He will never let Erza or his family know that Rhea has another man in her life.

Erza's forehead creased in thought at Emery's words. Could Rhea have someone special in her life now? She had always been so secretive about her personal life, and Erza had never suspected that she might be seeing someone. Who could it be? How long had it been going on? Their mother would be beside herself if she found out. She was very traditional and had always wanted her children to marry well. She would be horrified if she knew her beloved daughter-in-law was having an affair.

Erza decided to keep this information to herself for now. She wanted to talk to Rhea first and find out more about this mystery man. She was sure that Rhea would have a good explanation for everything.
