Bundle of Disaster or Joy?

Rhea was so astounded when Emery asked her out on a Saturday night. They had never gone out together before, except when they needed to go to the main house or when Rhea's car broke down a few months ago. They hadn't been on a proper date yet.

It seems that Emery has extended an invitation to his alma mater's party reunion, which is quite exciting news for Rhea. Even though Rhea and Emery had graduated from the same college, they were not classmates. Emery was her senior by two years. They rarely bump into each other.

Since becoming Emery's wife, she has had limited opportunities to socialize with Emery's friends, having only met Jane, who is his business associate. Therefore, this will be Rhea's first chance to get to know the rest of husband's social circle, and she is eager to make a good impression.

It seems that Rhea's relationship with Emery is on the up and up. The two have been chatting more frequently than a year ago. Emery is even participating in small talk without any hesitation. No more 'hurmm' or 'ermmm' for an answer. And it looks like Rhea's reign as the champion of takeaway is over because cooking at home has made a significant impact on their relationship. Who knew that a simple change in routine could have such a positive outcome?

It's amazing how much Emery enjoys home-cooked meals! Rhea wishes she had known that earlier, but it's never too late to make things right. No matter how exhausted she may be, Rhea is always thrilled to whip up a meal for Emery. Her go-to dish is fried anchovies with soy sauce, omelet, and hot rice. Emery never fails to clean his plate, and Rhea couldn't be more delighted. It may be a simple meal, but Emery will eat like a horse!

It was the night of the reunion dinner. According to Emery, he had not seen his old classmates for ten years. Rhea was nervous and excited as she entered the hall. The hall was spacious and elegant, with dim lights and soft music. There were round tables covered with white tablecloths and silverware. There were balloons and banners with "Class of XXXX" on them. There was a band playing a song on the stage.

Emery spotted some familiar faces and waved at them. Most guests wore formal dresses and suits, some with accessories and jewelry. They smiled and chatted, catching up on each other's lives. They exchanged compliments and jokes, reminiscing about the old times, laughing and crying, feeling nostalgic and happy.

The dinner started with a welcome speech by the organizer. He thanked everyone for coming and announced the program for the night. There would be games, awards, speeches, slideshows, and dancing. He invited everyone to enjoy the food and drinks.

The food looks delicious and varied. There were appetizers, salads, soups, main courses, and desserts. There were dishes from different cuisines, such as Italian, Chinese, Indian, and Mexican. There were also vegetarian and vegan options. The drinks were refreshing.

"Jane," Emery greeted Jane. With a warm smile, Emery approached her, who was seated at a table that was also occupied by two happy couples. Emery extended his hand and greeted the two gentlemen before pulling up a chair and sitting down next to Jane. It was a pleasant atmosphere with soft music playing in the background.

Rhea sat down next to Emery and made herself comfortable. She smiled at the two women who were already seated.

One of them asked, "Is she your wife, Emery?"

Emery then introduced Rhea to the women, saying, "This is Harriet. And Rhea, meet Harriet."

Later on, Rhea found herself merely an observer when the topic shifted towards reminiscing about old memories. Emery, on the other hand, was quite the chatterbox, which is a trait some people exhibit when surrounded by friends. However, when it comes to their spouse, they tend to become tight-lipped. Even if a marriage is based on love, such things can occur. In contrast to Rhea and Emery's case, some people become like this because their marriage is arranged, making it less surprising.

The clock struck midnight as they finally arrived home, leaving Rhea feeling extremely exhausted. Listening to people discuss something she couldn't even comprehend was tedious, and it made it difficult for her to engage in the conversation. That morning she woke up late. Her head felt dizzy. She rarely overslept. That's why she felt weird.

"Sorry... I did not make breakfast today." Rhea reached for a pot to brew coffee. But there was already coffee brewing inside.

"It's okay. I already made breakfast. "

Rhea glanced at the breakfast bar and saw omelets and toast, a rare sight as Emery usually gets takeout before cooking. After pouring herself a cup of coffee, she sat down in front of Emery. He offered her a double toast, but she declined as she had no appetite that morning. After finishing her coffee, she went back to bed as her head suddenly felt heavy.

The next day, Rhea still felt unwell, but despite Emery's offer to take her to the clinic, she declined as she had an important meeting. Upon arriving at her office, she regretted not taking Emery's suggestion as her head was pounding, and she felt nauseous.

"Hey Des, do you think you could come with me to the clinic next door? I'm feeling a bit lightheaded and don't want to risk passing out on my way there," Rhea requested after their meeting had ended.

Desmond noticed Rhea's pale complexion and suggested, "You should give Emery a call to come pick you up."

Before Rhea could answer, she collapsed to the floor. Desmond shouted her name in alarm, and several colleagues rushed into the room after hearing the commotion.

"Someone call the doctor from the clinic next door!" One of them yelled.
