Vincent asked the subdued criminals the whereabout of Roman Torchwick. But just like he expected, no one answered his polite question. He wondered if a forceful methods is way better in this situation.
"Spare me!" But Looking at the horror in the criminals' eyes as they crawled away from Vincent made him felt as though he was the bad guy.
So, he changed his attention to the unharmed criminals who were out of the bowling course. They flinched the moment their eyes met him.
"Violence is not a good thing, don't you think so?" Vincent asked with a smile, which followed by nods from the criminals.
But the smile quickly faded from Vincent's face, "Where is Roman Torchwick?"
With sweat trickling down their backs, they turned their faces in unison towards a certain direction in the warehouse.
The moment they did so, a man with orange hair come out from behind the pile of crates and let out angry curses, "Useless bastard! How dare you sold your boss to the enemy! Where's your loyalty?!"
Then he gave Vincent a graceful bow and smiled, "Why hello there, I am Roman Torchwick, delighted to make your acquaintance."
The goons and White Fang members which now become mere onlookers have the same thing in their mind, 'they are both two-faced bastards.' and curses them silently.
"Roman Torchwick, you're quite a difficult man to meet."
"I have been... very busy as of late, so pardon me,"
"Or so I heard," Vincent smiled, "I guess someone needed their dust very badly."
Roman narrowed his eyes and said, "You sure know a lot... Well, that was expected of such powerful hunter I guess. So, to what do I owe the pleasure for the sudden visit?"
Vincent ignored his inquiry, "It's been what? eight heist? or is it nine? you already worked hard scouring the dust stores from the whole City of Vale and yet, you're still unappreciated."
"What is your point?"
"It's too bad that Cinder still didn't trust you one bit, even after she made you work yourself to the bone."
The smile slipped from Roman's face, "You... Who the hell are you?"
"I am just your ordinary hunter."
"And I am an innocent merchant from the Vale."
Vincent laughed for a few moments, then said, "As expected of Roman Torchwick, you're still very entertaining even in real life."
"In real life? What're you talking about?"
"It's nothing important," Vincent waved his hand and said, "How much do you know about the tale of twin gods?"
"Do I know the twin gods?" He rolled his eyes, "Of course I do, everyone in Remnant knew about it."
"But have you heard why the twin gods abandoned humanity and shattered the moon in the process?"
"I was not there, so no."
"That's a pity."
"...Is that even important?" Roman sighed.
"No, not really."
Roman gave him a blank look. But Vincent ignored him and continue, "There was a princess who lost her beloved one due to sickness. She plead the gods to bring back her deceased lover into the world of the living."
"Is that even possible?"
Vincent shrugged, "Maybe? The gods refused her plea though. In grief, she convinced the humanity to rebel against the gods by using their greed. She spread the word to various kingdoms that they could overthrow the gods and take their power for themselves."
"It doesn't look like it's going to end well for the princess."
"Oh, you have no idea. The god of darkness destroyed them all except the princess."
"They spared her life? How kind of them..."
"Unfortunately they're better than that. The twin gods cursed the princess with immortality so that she will continue to live in grief without her beloved one for eternity. For thousands of years, she had tried to commit suicide, but it was useless."
"What a nice twist. that's a good bedtime story."
"Ah, it's not a story though," Vincent titled his head, acting confused, "I am pretty sure you can find the princess' castle somewhere outside the kingdom."
"...Okay, that's funny." Roman said dryly as he sits on a crate.
"Right? You also already had the pleasure to met with her subordinate."
"Huh?"
"Her name is Cinder Fall."
"If you say so..." Roman shrugged, he didn't believe it one bit, to him, it's just a silly story.
"Has she told you what is the massive numbers of dust they collected will be used for?"
"... Not yet."
"Right... " Vincent sneered, causing Roman to frown in displeasure.
Vincent continues, "It's an explosion, they're planning to blow up the whole City of Vale. The negative emotions from the people of Vale caused by the explosion will attract a lot of Grimm from the holes created by the explosion. It won't be long before the Grimms spread to the whole city of Vale... it's a massacre."
"What do they want to achieve by blowing the City of Vale?"
"Huh? What do you mean? She's the slave of the princess, of course, she had to do her bidding. Vale is just the beginning, other kingdoms will soon follow. What do you think is her goal?
"... I dunno, but I don't think it's anything good."
"The Princess hate humanity as much as she hates the gods. So, it's obvious that she wants to wipe the Humanity and Faunus alike from the surface of the world."
"... Okay. So, assuming Cinder is the subordinate of the Immortal Princess, isn't it better to work for her to get out of her bad side?"
"Well... Cinder, Mercury, Emerald and you're also part of humanity so I think you're also somewhere down on the list, the bottom I mean."
"Oh..."
Suddenly the police's siren blaring loudly from outside of the warehouse. Based on the sounds, multiple police cars are coming.
Roman was startled silly, Looked at Vincent while expressing his confusion, "What is going on?"
Vincent said solemnly, "Isn't that obvious? you're a thief with a bounty of 80.000 Lein and as an abiding citizen, I had the responsibility to report to the police."
"What?!" Roman gnashed his teeth and jumped from the crate.
He's running for his life, but when he realized he could not shake off his pursuit, he shouted loudly, "But what about our newly-found friendship? our bond? we got along just fine."
"Don't worry, I am sure our friendship can withstand this ordeal," Vincent replied as he suddenly appeared in front of Roman and clutched him in the throat.
Roman tried to talk between cough, "After all that talk... I thought... you're gonna ask... me to join your side... or something."
"Or something I guess..." Vincent was trying to let Roman know about the Humanity begone project. As a professional thief, victims are necessary. It would do him no good if humanity were to disappear from the world.
It was a good enough reason for Roman to stop aiding Cinder and her master plan. If not better, stab them in the back.
But he didn't felt good to works with a criminal so before Vincent invade the workshop, he already called the police. He was pretty sure Roman could escape from the prison given his ability.
But Vincent didn't really care either way. If Roman could escape from the prison then it's good, but if not then... one less thief in the world. But there's one thing he knows for sure, tonight he would be 80.000 Lien richer than before.
Vincent was out of his reverie when he felt something invading his body. He looked down and he was surprised at a long blade that suddenly come out from his heart.
Taken aback, Vincent dropped Roman on the ground and the blade was immediately pulled out of his heart by the wielder, leaving a gruesome injury that continues to splurt blood.
Vincent turned back and saw a beautiful woman similar to Neapolitan ice cream. Her hair color is half pink and half brown, with white streaks on the pink side while her eyes have different colors, brown and pale pink.
She is the right-hand woman of Roman Torchwick, Neopolitan.
Vincent has been wondering why he didn't spot the silent beauty ever since he met Roman in the warehouse. Turned out she was in hiding, preparing to launch a sneak attack when the time is right. He didn't expect their meeting would be so gory.
"You got me there, young lady. I didn't see that coming." Vincent said nonchalantly as if nothing was happening which confused Neo greatly.
It was then when she looked at the fatal wound she created that she cried out silently. There's no longer injury, it's gone.
Not only the injury was gone, even his blue shirt and scarf are still intact without tear and not even a single drop of blood could be seen anywhere.
Vincent smiled at the shocked beauty and said, "Silly girl, I can't die."
