"Hello, kids. My name is Vincent Valentine, I will be your combat professor from now on. " Vincent said with a lazy smile as he stands in front of the first-year students of Beacon. They're inside the training ground after the announcement of the new curriculum from their scroll.
All of them are pretty surprised, to say the least, considering Glynda was their combat instructor a while ago. So, they never thought someone would replace her that soon.
"Er, professor... you look so young, how old are you this year?" a fair-skinned young woman with lilac eyes and bright golden hair asked him a question that bugged the whole class since they saw him. Vincent looked so young just like them, so it's kind of surreal and unbelievable for Vincent to be a professor, not a student.
"I should be eighteen next month, little Yang."
"Don't call me little Yang! Wait, how did you know my name?!"
"I am a professor, remember? I had all of your data in my scroll." Vincent waved his new scroll in front of him, "You must work hard as you had a long way to go, little Yang. Only those who passed my class with... anything above average could ask a request of me. Do you understand, little Yang?"
This made her annoyed, Yang is pretty pissed at him, but she's not the only one among the student who share the sentiment, especially Cardin, Vincent could see anger radiating from the bully's face, though he had no idea why. Vincent ignored them completely and said, "I was invited to be a professor at Beacon Academy by the headmaster directly, so you can be sure that they deemed me qualified to be here."
This seems to calm down the majority of the students as they started to assess the young professor in front of them, but couldn't get anything other than good looking and young.
"My class is pretty simple," Vincent said as he looked at the hunters and huntresses in the training ground, pulling them from their thought, "You have to fight together with your team against a single opponent.." A murmurs break out between the students. This is very different from professor Goodwitch's lesson.
"Don't worry, it won't be so easy as your imagination because your opponent will be a powerful one, of course." Vincent scanned the faces around him, then continue, "This combat will strengthen your teamwork and also act as a lesson in case you encounter a powerful opponent beyond your capability,"
"So, who is our opponent?" An energetic girl with short orange hair asked him, "Don't tell me it's you, professor!"
Vincent recognized the girl, she's Nora, the bundle of energy. He said with a smile, "That's right, I'm your opponent."
The murmurs started again, but more loud this time, some of them are not convinced and unsure, while some are excited to fight with a professor for the first time, just like team CRDL. Vincent was able to see Cardin the bully of Beacon was raring to go and give him, a pretentious professor a smack across the face. His red face said it all. Vincent saw it and immediately decided to choose the team CRDL to be the first sheep to be slaughtered.
It only takes a few moment of preparation, team CRDL stood opposite of him in the training ground, Cardin is among them. Seeing that they're raring to go, Vincent signaled them to start whenever they want.
"Get out of my way! he's mine!" Cardin bumped and pushed away his teammates as he charged toward the new professor in from of him alone, leaving the team members behind. The fact that the professor is the same age as him rub Cardin the wrong way.
He can't accept it no matter what and believed that the young man in front of him is not qualified to be a professor of prestigious academy and there's no better way to prove it by beating the cocky professor with his trusty mace.
Even if Vincent had a connection with the headmaster, the academy won't let a professor who lose to their student to continue teaching in the academy. Cardin believed this reasoning, so he amassed his rage and negative emotion from his whole being and raised his mace to crush the smug bastard in front of him.
Looking at Cardin who charged at him blindly, Vincent didn't give any reaction at all, even when Cardin trying to smash his face with a mace. It was too slow for Vincent to take it seriously.
He leaned slightly to avoid the mace as it smashed against the floor, completely missed him. Vincent raised his eyebrow slightly at the spectacle before him, it was a pretty hard impact, but there's no damage whatsoever to the floor, it's completely intact. He briefly wondered what's the material used to create the floor.
The distracted face of Vincent increased the rage inside Cardin. To think Vincent still had the time to be daydreaming while fighting against him made his blood boil, with a cry he trying to swing his mace around to break the man, but he gasped loudly when his weapon refused to move according to his will, nearly made him stumble.
Once, twice, trice...
No matter how much strength he put into his hands, his mace won't budge even an inch. This weird phenomenon made Cadin look down to examine his weapon and he was shocked when there's a hand holding his mace in place.
Total humiliation!
He was completely overpowered by someone of his age.
Cardin's face was red from shame and anger.
"You are slow and lacking in power." Vincent said casually, ignoring the incensed Cardin, "Attacking a powerful foe alone without your team is not a wise move, little Cardin. You're dead."
Before Cardin could retaliate and lashed out in anger, Vincent already lifted his hand to Cardin's face and flicked his forehead, hurling Cardin toward his team who's running to back him up.
The first one in the front managed to roll to the side, but the one behind him failed to react and crashed into Cardin, sending them both away from the arena. They keep rolling for a few moments before bumping against the wall, stopping their motion.
The remaining two members of team CRDL continue their attack and charged together, but they too suffer the same fate as Cardin, finger flick sent them on a rolling spree.
The rest of the students are dumbfounded by the spectacle in front of them. Their new professor dispatched team CRDL easily and effortlessly, even though team CRDL are not the strongest, to handle them like a children is beyond them. Professor Vincent is so young, yet he is so powerful.
The handsome professor in front of them suddenly become a lot more charming in their eyes.
"What a strong hunter! He is so awesome!" A beautiful girl with white hair exclaimed with amazement, "Not to mention his fight was elegant and beautifully done!"
"Yea... he's strong, and Weiss... we're going to fight with that strong professor soon." The girl next to Weiss reminded her excited friend. She had a serious yet beautiful complexion with a cute bow atop her long black hair.
"... You're right Blake," Weiss replied after calm down a little, "I wonder if we are his match at all."
"I can't wait for our turn to fight him!" Yang clasped her hands together, preparing the dual ranged shot gauntlets, Ember Celica, her faithful weapon.
"The next one will be team RWBY. You can come up here after you finish with your... little preparation." Vincent gave Yang an amused smile which annoys the blondie.
In the corner of the training ground, a security camera caught the whole event that happened in that place.
"Are you sure this is wise, Ozpin?" Glynda asked as she looked at the team RWBY walking to the arena through the monitor in the headmaster's office.
"It is of great importance that we must keep Vincent close to us."
"Ozpin, he is very dangerous, both of him and his fiancee."
"That's why we can't let them to meet with her, we can't afford to let Vincent and Shinobu join her forces." His eyes flashed with resolve.
"... I know the need to recruit him as a professor in our school, but a combat professor? he's too violent."
Ozpin keep silent for a while, he walked to the window and said, "Perhaps this is what they needed, the experience against a powerful foe... before it's too late."
"What are you..."
"It's been a while since Crow made a contact."
"It's Crow we're talking about, maybe he just gets drunk and forgets about his mission."
"That would be good if that was the case..."
