"Yang! watch out!" A warning come from Ruby lips the moment a signal for the beginning of combat resounded throughout the training ground, but sadly it was too late.
Yang was thrown back violently, rolling a few times on the floor before clutched her gauntlets Ember Celica against the floor, grinding her teeth audibly as her hands were filled with sparks. With a few efforts, she managed to stabilize herself before she get thrown out of the arena.
Her aura was shimmering faintly and the big screen in the background showed that she had lost 80% of her aura.
Just from a single flick.
"Speed semblance?! Just like Ruby!" Yang scowled at Vincent. She didn't saw it coming, the attack was too fast. But unlike Ruby, he could use it in the middle of combat, thus made it very deadly for his enemies. Even now she had no idea what and how he struck her, but a faint throbbing on her forehead is an undeniable proof by itself.
She was not the only one surprised by the speed of their professor, everyone in the training ground were surprised because they thought he had a super strength semblance. Never in their wildest imagination that he also had Ruby's inhuman speed semblance.
Even Ozpin and Glynda also surprised at this discovery, they never saw Vincent used his speed semblance. So, only now that everyone finds out about Vincent's seemingly powerful semblance, super strength, and speed.
Of course, it's just their belief. All of them had no slightest idea that Vincent had no semblance whatsoever, it was his pure strength and speed of his vampire traits.
Team RWBY exchanged a glance with each other before take off in a sprint.
-- Bang! Bang! Bang!
A sniper and other bullets flying toward Vincent at high speed from various directions.
"A sound decision." Vincent laughed as Ruby, Blake, and Weiss separated from each other and created a distance between themselves and their professor.
They know by now that they're no match for Professor Vincent in close range, so they're planning to whittle his aura little by little and win by attrition.
Too bad they had no idea that Vincent had no aura at all. So, even if they managed to land a hit, Vincent's aura bar in the background will remain full and unshakeable.
All living being has an aura even animal is not an exception. But Vincent is not a living being, he's undead and unliving, that's why Vincent can't awaken his aura. This is what he comes up with after some research he did back in the homeworld.
He never tried to awaken his aura because asking someone to do it is too risky in various ways, he has no idea what will happen to his undead body if he do that, nor he want to be known as someone without aura, that was Grimm traits after all. The implications behind this discovery may put him and Shinobu in grave danger, hunted by the whole residents of Remnant.
So, if the bullets managed to hit him who had no aura, a bloody scene would haunt the students' minds forever. At least that's what Vincent thought might happen because he never got shot by someone and whether bullets can penetrate his body or not is beyond his knowledge. He also doubts if he could ask Shinobu about this, their power is on different level after all, so he had to find it out through experiment later.
Vincent suddenly saw something and immediately jerked to the side.
-- Bang! Bang! Bang!
They continue releasing a barrage of bullets at Vincent.
Fortunately, none of the bullets hit him. Vincent managed to avoid every single one of them. All he had to do is watch out where they point out their muzzle and it was easy to predict where the bullets will go.
He had no slightest intention to experiment with something so gory in front of these naive kids and the staff of Beacon.
He still felt the blood pulsing inside his body. His reaction speed was greatly enhanced after he took a few sips from the red wine a few hours ago. Vincent never did a doping, but maybe this is what those drugs could bestow upon the users back in his homeworld.
"Ruby! behind you!" Even though Ruby could move at inhuman speed and the fastest at running away, it was useless if she didn't saw the attack coming or in simple terms, sneak attack.
Once again, Yang's warning was too late because Vincent was already in motion, After a slight blur, Vincent arrived behind Ruby and kicked her soft bottom lightly toward the second most troublesome person after Ruby, Blake Belladonna and her shadow clone.
Even though he did it lightly, Ruby was flying at high speed, but not fast enough to escape from huntress eyesight, at least the talented one.
That's why unlike Cardin and his teammates, Blake didn't caught Ruby with her body and get thrown out together from the arena. Instead, she used her flexible weapon to caught Ruby's body to prevent her from flying out of the arena.
"Weiss, do it!" Blake gritted her teeth and signaled her friend to help her while she used her whole body as catapult to launch back Ruby to their enemy.
"Got it! Just like the old time!" Weiss activated her signature glyphs for Ruby and Blake, increasing the propelling speed of Ruby's diving and preventing Blake from losing her footing and get dragged in by Ruby.
And then just like what they did at the emerald forest, Ruby was thrown back toward Vincent at high speed while holding her scythe to send Vincent out from the arena. But unfortunately, they're still underestimated their Professor Vincent.
"Noo waay!" Ruby wailed as Vincent tapped the tip of her scythe with his fingers to change it's trajectory and avoided the high-speed slash of Ruby's scythe with his inhuman reaction speed while at the same time caught her hoody with his hand and launched her back toward Weiss and Blake twice as fast, leaving their mouth agape at the incoming projectile.
Looking at the red blur moving at incredible speed, Vincent wondered if they could catch Ruby and do the catapult thing again. It was pretty fun.
