Unlocking One's Aura

Ruby was flying toward Weiss and Blake, too fast for them to stop completely, but Weiss and Blake can't abandon her either. She could end up injured if they did nothing to slow her down.

Without hesitation, Weiss activated her semblance, unique power of hers that grant her ability to create glyph for various purpose. She deployed multiple glyphs between her and Ruby. Each time Ruby passed one of the glyph, her speed decreased little by little. But it was not slow enough for Blake to use her weapon to help Ruby again.

So Ruby crashed into both of them, hard. Still, they managed to catch Ruby but depleted their aura bar in the process.

"Uuh, sorry Blake, Weiss. It's my fault both of you are out." Ruby bit her lip.

"It's not your fault, Ruby. We underestimated professor Vincent's ability." Blake assured Ruby.

"That's right, unlike Grimm Nevermore, Professor Vincent is just too strong, so it's inevitable that our plan was failed." Weiss sighed.

"Weiss... Blake... I love you guys!"

"Hey! Ruby! Let me go!"

"Where do you think you're touching me!"

Vincent let out a sigh of relief seeing they're safe and sound. Though, he was prepared to rush straight ahead to save Ruby in case Blake and Weiss abandoned Ruby or failed to protect her. As a combat professor, he must be responsible for his students' safety and well being.

Vincent suddenly leaned to the right, dodging a jab aimed at his face. It's coming from his left.

"Oh, the raging yellow." Now, only Yang is what remains left of team RWBY. Her red eyes is enough sign that she was more than pissed.

"Stay still and let me punch your pretty face," Yang growled while brandishing her gauntlets around his face, sometimes they shot bullets at close range which made it riskier to face her.

"That's... not a nice thing to say to your teacher." Vincent smiled as he dodged all of her attacks, making her frustrated as nothing hit the opponent, nothing at all.

But Yang realized that he also didn't attack her either even though he had many chances to do so.

He's toying with her! Yang gritted her teeth as her frustration doubled and so is her power. She put all of her strength into her last punch as she growled, "Don't toy with me!"

-- Boom!

Vincent stopped her fist with his palm, leaving a small shockwave around them.

"You misunderstand me, little Yang. How could I bring myself to toy with you? Your professor just wants what the best for his cute student."

"It's the best for me if you stop dodging and accept my fist with your face," Yang replied.

-- Click! Boom!

Vincent shift her hand sideways as bullets come out from the gauntlet, barely missing him.

-- Click! Boom!

-- Click! Boom!

"Why...? I can't hit him at all... what is wrong..."

"Your power is not bad, but you're too slow."

-- Click! Boom!

"Now, Now. There's no need to get depressed over this, little Yang." Vincent calms her down with a good-natured smile but she showed her teeth in return and a couple of bullets.

-- Click! Boom!

Vincent continue playing with Yang, dodging left and right.

"Tch, stop dodging and fight me seriously!" Yang trying to hit him again with her unstoppable conviction, but he quickly shifted to her back before she had the chance to hit him, always remain as her shadow.

Vincent was truly appreciating Yang's mental strength. Any other people usually would be in despair right about now and lose interest in fighting him, but Yang is different. Even now she's still trying her best to land the impossible hit.

Suddenly the scroll in his pocket started vibrating, "Ah, the time is up for today's lesson, so here we go..." Noticing the meaning behind the alarm, Vincent grabbed her hand to lock her in place and gave Yang a simple flick to finish his job. She a strong girl, so he is pretty sure she's going to be alright.

Vincent then turned to the other students, "Sorry, kids. The fun times are up today, we will continue this activity in the next meeting."

"Oh, I'm glad. It's finally over." Many sighs of relief could be heard across the training ground. They looked like someone who just got spared from horrendous torture.

Vincent was rather confused at this, he's pretty sure he did nothing outrageous in his lesson and as if reading his thought Nora, the most cheerful huntress, complained, "Professor! Your lesson is too hardcore!"

"Is that so? I thought it's not that different compared to the hunter's daily training." He raised his eyebrow at the 'Orange'.

"No! Absolutely not, sir!"

"Then you better prepare yourself for our new training regime. We will start with the Team JNPR for the next meeting." Giving the orange girl a laugh, Vincent left the training ground.

"Oh no, Nora... what have you done?" Jaune moaned in despair. He's pretty sure the first person who is going to be eliminated first will be him without a doubt.

"Cheer up Jaune. You will be fine, we're a team so we will fight the professor as a team." Pyrrha consoled her team leader with a comforting smile. "You're not alone, Jaune. We've got your back."

"Pyrrha..." Hearing this, Jaune's mood takes a complete turn for the better. He's the leader of their team, yet he was the weakest one among them. So, he always felt inferior and useless. Unlike him, Pyrrha is the most powerful huntress in Beacon, but despite being a celebrity, she was modest and patient around the useless him, making her the best teammate for anyone.

Not to mention she's breathtakingly beautiful. Coupled with her red hair in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet. She is the 2nd best woman according to the Beacon's Beauties Ranking he recently stumbled upon. Of course, if not for Ms. Glynda Goodwitch, Pyrrha would be ranked 1st.

Jaune's thought was suddenly broken by a cheerful voice from the side.

"She's right, Jaune. Sooner or later we will also need to face Professor Vincent just like Ruby and the other anyway." Nora chimes while Ren nodded at her words. Ren is a man of few words and always at her side since their childhood.

"At least now we had enough data to create a plan for our spar with Professor Vincent," Pyrrha said with a smile.

======

Vincent is walking on the maze-like corridor of Beacon Academy. But he walks with no hesitation whatsoever.

Even with his confident gait, Vincent was not familiar with every single place of Beacon, it's too massive for someone who worked there recently to memorize. Even students often navigate through the academy by using their scroll.

He very familiar with this particular path because he had gone to this secluded place of Beacon nearly every single day.

Vincent stopped in front of the door and swiped a Professor's card he has got from Ozpin 5 days ago into the device beside the door. With a hissing sound, the door slides to the right. A familiar woman stopped her activity and turned to face him.

"Good afternoon, Professor Vincent. I see that you're visiting your mother again today." A soft and distant voice greet him from beyond the door. She is Glynda Goodwitch, a beautiful middle-aged woman that has light-blonde hair tied back in a bun with a curl hanging down the right side of her face. With bright green eyes and thin ovular glasses, Glynda the cold beauty occupied the 1st rank in the Beacon's Beauties Ranking. Of course, only Jaune and most of the male students know about the hidden site.

"Ah, Glynda. Thanks for today as well. How is my mother condition?" Vincent asked.

"She's getting better today. Her body had become more stable."

"You say that again? Really..." He sighed, feeling exasperated, "It has been more than one week, I can see that she's getting better but when she's going to wake up?"

Vincent walked closer to Glynda and stopped beside her, "Glynda... Why don't you unlock my mother's aura, I'm pretty sure it will be a great help in regaining her consciousness."

"Unlocking an unconscious person's aura is not recommended." She shot him a stern look.

"... We both knew about my mother's condition. Normally, she should be waking up right now. So, unlocking her aura will not affect her in a negative way." Vincent hesitated for a moment before whispered softly beside her, "Glynda, I will give you one more favor. No, this time it's a wish. I will grant you one wish, you can ask me for anything you want, please."

She wants to ask why he didn't do it himself but Vincent beat her to it, "I can't unlock my mother aura because of some... very private matter. I hope you could understand..."

Glynda gave him one long look, then sighed, "Fine, I will do it."

"Thanks, Glynda. I appreciate it."

"Really? then you should start by addressing me as Ms. Glynda."

"Is that your wish?"

The faint smile faded from her lips, "No."

"Wait, Glynda! Don't leave me! It's just a joke. pretty please."
