Wentworth Military Academy

As Noah stepped inside his father office, he was surprised when he saw another man sitting in his father chair, he had never seen this man but his aura was heavy he was like a mountain Noah eyes leid on the man's shoulder looking for his ranks, he was surprised of what he saw the rank of the man was really high he was his father boss Command Sergeant Major Grinston.

Noah quickly greeted CSM Grinston with his hands on his back and his legs shoulder width, this was the right way to address someone with this rank, his father had previously taught him how to greet the different ranks of the army. ¨At ease child¨ a relax voice came from the man however, Noah could see through the gaze of the man who was examining every detail about him.

Grinston smiled ¨your dad told me about your powers you are in luck since I had some business in this colony I took the chance to check out your newly obtain powers.¨ Noah got the hint, so without waiting any longer he summon his short sword and ignited a flame that cover his fist, but out of his expectations Noah saw how the flames that was covering the had with the short sword was now on the blade's edge.

Noah brought the blade closer to his face he notice that the blade was quickly hitting up, even the air around the blade had started to distort because of the intense heat, he could guess that getting cut by his blade would be an extremely painful sensation. Noah heard the noise of a chair moving, so he looked up and saw Command Sergeant Grinston standing in front of him

"strike me!", A dominant voice sounded, Noah was surprised for a fraction of a second, but did not hesitate longer, he knew that the man standing in front of him was much more powerful than his father, so there was no way he could really hurt this man, so he put all of his strength on this strike by channeling the power of the lotus flame through his body.

The blade ignited in flames the temperature in the room skyrocketed and it made its way towards his opponents neck, it was a vicious execution aim to take someone's life it showed no mercy. the sword was caught by two fingers the vicious attack was render useless.

¨ Hahaha, I like your spirit kid¨ Noah did not see when Grinston raises his hand to grab his sword, but now he saw Grinston move his hips, by instinct Noah could tell that he was about to get atack, using his lightning steps he moved back at a very fast pace, he let go of blade on his hands without thinking it twice, the short sword vanish from Grinstons fingers and in a blink of an eye it was back in Noah's hand.

With a quick movement, Noah used his Short sword to cover his body, he felt a strong force hit his sword the force push him back like a cannonball, he was shot back toward the wall, if he was just a second slower covering his body with his sword his face would have been kick. The force of the kick was strong enough for him to lose consiones. Noah was happy he knew that his opponent was restraining his strength but it was still with the aim to knock him out.

Noah used his lightning steps technique to position himself so that his feet would face the wall, thanks to his quick movements Noah was able to transfer all of the force on his legs as he made contact with the wall. Still the force he felt made his bones quake, it felt like they were about to break. Cold sweat cover Noah's back, ¨this attack, was it not lethal?¨ if it weren't for the lotus flame strengthening his body this attack might have break a bone or at least knock him out for a few days.

Noah took on a defensive position he did not want to experience that attack again, he was lucky not to get hit previously. ¨ Congratulations cadet you pass¨ Grinston said with a cheerful voice, Noah look at his father and saw his expressionless face. Noah was unaware of his accomplishment this time, he had pass CSM Grinston test with flying colors.

Andres knew of this test harshness, but it was the best opportunity for his son, if he made the CSM make a move it meant that he recognize his strength and would deal an attack with the same amount of force he took. Noah had already pass by making CSM Grinston attack back but to think that not only did he manage to make CSM Grinston move but he also manage to defend against the attack Grinston had purposely slowed down the attack but it was not easy reacting specially since his son had no real battle experience. Normally the attack would knock someone at his son power level, but if he manage to stay conscious after getting attacked the examini would have been considered to be a genius but to take no damage that was something on a completely different level.

Grinston look at Noah intensely, he was surprised by the child battle instincts. Grinston purposely lower his strength to the same level as this child he calculated the strength of Noah when he caught his sword. For a ten year old child to have this strength made him verily qualify to assist an academy in the capital, but to take his own attack with some extra force and come out with no damage by placing the sword in front of his body to take on his kick. Grinston decided to increase the force behind the kick but he never expected the child to position himself in the best possible position to nullify most of the force from the kick.

That elevated his opinion on this young person if he assisted the best Academy on the Empire he could make this child into a powerful soldier. This level of instinct in a young boy, made him perfect candidate for the top academy on the capital, he knew the General in charge of this academy, ¨have you heard of the name Wentworth?¨ Grinston ask.

Noah saw a change in his father's eyes when the name Wentworth was mention, but Noah had never heard of this name. without waiting for an answer Grinston continued ¨ ask your father about the details, the Academy start admission in 3 months, you have potential but the people from the capital are really strong so don't think so highly of yourself, there is much you need to work on. Wentworth can provide you with the best education you can ask for, if you manage to graduate from the Academy you will become an officer in the army and you would be assign to a unit. ¨Grinston said as he was getting ready to leave, he took one more time at Noah before turning to face Andres. ¨ First Sergeant Redfield you are a lucky father¨ once Grinston said this, he left both parent and child.

Noah was surprised he never got the chance to reject, but at the same time why would he reject he was not stupid there was no need to lie to him so the trusted the word that CSM Grinston said before leaving. He had three months before he could join the Academy but he had the feeling that it training would be intense so he ask the system if there was some type of training he could implement before he had to leave for the academy, but before he continued in his thinking he saw his father approaching him.

Andres gave his son a hug ¨ am sorry my son, if I had told you of the way Grinston conducted his test that would had disqualified you¨ Andres was really happy for his son, he was worried of how his son would do on the test, he had medications prepared for any occasion, but now there was no need for it. He had taken the same test in one of his promotions, he felt proud to say that he manage to come out from the test with only two broken arms, injuries like broken bones can be mended in a week with today medical advancement.

¨ Don't worry father, am okay¨ Noah just smile to ensure his father that there was no problem with his condition, the lotus flame was sending energy in every part of Noah's body so any small injury would heal very quickly, there was no need for any medicine he took a look at his HP and it was at a 100%. ¨Dad what can you tell me about the Academy CSM Grinston talk about?¨

Andres explain about the different Academies in the Empire, the most prestigious one was Wentworth with its long history of educating the best officers the Empire has had, but it was also known that the training was very harsh and only a few manage to graduate, Andres look at his son ¨dont worry as long as you work hard there is no obstacle that can stop you, enjoy these days before going to the academy, I have heard that the first year is really tough.¨

Noah understood what his father meant with his words, there was not much a person could do in three months so it was best to enjoy these day with the family, once he left he would not see his family for a long time. But he was not a normal person just now the system had told him of a way to increase his strength he just needed to get back to his room so he made an excuse to leave his father office.

Noah made his way toward the kitchen before going to his room ¨Master make sure to get some water and food¨ the system was telling him to get many things Noah used his ring to store all the things the system told him he needed. Before he enter his room he told his mother that he was feeling tired and wanted to go to his room to sleep, with that he got to his room with no more delays.

Once he enter his room Noah took out the coin he had previously gotten from the chest, the system told him that the coin could be use to enter another world. ¨Master the beast that inhabit that dimension very in strength if we are lucky you would start in a relative safeplace in that world¨ Noah took at look at the coin no matter how hard he look at it it look like an ordinary coin ¨what happens if i get transported in a dangerous place how do I get back? Noah question the system if he started in a safe place than it would be easy to survive but if he started with monster with the power to kill him with one strike, he could only hope that the system had a plan for that.

¨Master you can't expect to get stronger without taking some risk ¨ Noah's face darken ¨ system how do I get back in case of an emergency?¨ Noah asked once again this time in a heavy tone, he was not afraid but he had to be clear about every detail so as not to make a rash decision. ¨If thing turn for the worst I would need at least 12 hours after activating the dimensional coin tu use it again.¨ Noah sighted a breath of relief after hearing that it was only a 12 hours of danger and that was only if he was unlucky to lan in dangerous place, taking a look at his luck stat Noah's mind felt more at ease.

The system continued with its explanation that the currency could be used every 12 hours, the time was different in the other dimension, which means that 12 hours on the other side amounted to 3 hours in this. It also told him that the other dimension spiritual esense was much higher than on the current planet so his strength would grow faster while he was on the other side, it also pointed out that killing any beast would grant him with exp the more he killed the faster his leveling. ¨system what happens after gaining a level how does that help me,¨ Noah had played some games but he was not sure how his strength would improve as he level up. You would get 5 attribute points every time you rase a level these pins can be allocated in any stat you see fit, your max Hp and MP also increase as you level up.

Noah took a look at his inventory making sure he had everything he needed it was only 12 hours but he had to make sure not to forget anything, he spend another hour to settle his mind by circulating the energy from the lotus flame. When he was ready he told the system to activate the coin. The coin floated in mid air as it started your buss Noah saw how portal appeared in the middle of his room he did not wait and took a step inside the portal in the next second Noah found himself in a pitch dark place.

Noah took out his flashlight but before he turn it on the heard the system inside his head warning him not to light up the flashlight ¨Master there are currently 3 soldier ants, if you want to make it out alive just give me some time to find an exit¨ Noah was rooted in his place he could not see anything he was holding the flashlight in his hand but he had no intentions of using it, he could only wait he was regretting his decision of coming to this dam place. ¨Master we are lucky aldow we are inside a ant colony we are in the most outer part of the colony so there is a chance to make our escape.

A map showed itself in front of Noah he could see his location in the ant colony and he could also see 20 red dots that indicated enemies once he turn on his light he would alert the troops giving himself only a brief window to dash out towards the exit. there where 5 chambers before the the exit that was the best pad to take the other pads had a lot more enemies guarding the entrance. ¨How strong are these ants compare to myself¨ Noah ask he had never seen these beast but he could imagine the size of the ants since the size of the colony was enormous ¨these ants are of the lower ranks the strongest one is on level 5 as you go deep into the colony the ants strength also increases, if you use your lightning steps technique you could dodge all of the attacks but I advise you to kill all 20 enemies it will help you level up.

¨You are telling me that with my level at one I can kill a level 5 ant¨ Noah was unclear of the difference in level he thought that he could only fight enemies with his same level at the most one level higher than his own but to fight someone 4 levels higher. ¨If you use all your strength you could kill most of the 20 ants before reinforcements are send, you have 5 minutes to make your escape and that is exactly how long you can summon your short sword for. As for the levels it is true that normally you are not a match for someone 4 levels higher than you but this beast attacks are very simple so am sure you would be able to manage them, it is still up to you but you need to hurry we can't wait here any longer.¨
