Wedding Planning

They had to use the formal dining area with a big rectangular table that managed to fit them all, albeit a bit tight but nobody minded. The staff busily kept coming in and out from the kitchen to bring out food for everyone. Butler Li was there to supervise and of course make sure everybody is not left wanting anything.

The women are trying to decide for the wedding needs while the men are talking over football. The Wu men, Lina found out a bit earlier, are also into football. Henry puts in his thoughts every now and responds to questions asked towards him but otherwise he has remained silent like Lina. He just kept urging her to eat more which instead of eating, she's really just pushing it all over her plate, taking small bites. She's just not in the mood for food right now.

"Nana, lets choose the dress tomorrow, okay? I have already sent a request through Jenny from a few designers you like and the dresses will all arrive tomorrow. Thank goodness its Monday today and they are open." Maria said animatedly. Shopping does that to her, and to the rest of the women in her family.

Lina nodded her agreement but Henry interrupted, "Auntie please schedule it for the morning. I will take Lina with me tomorrow for an overnight trip. We will be back on Wednesday maybe after lunch time."

"Oh?" Lina was as surprised as everybody. But the women had smiles on their faces. Just looking at the couple sitting together, they look so good together. Oh! How cute will their babies be, is the thought in their minds.

"Where are we going?" Lina asked Henry quietly "Oh no, I have a shooting tomorrow!" she remembered belatedly and pulled her phone to check her schedule, why did nobody remind her.

"I have already cancelled them and asked Jenny to reschedule everything."

"Next time, consult with me before you mess my schedules." Lina informed him tiredly. She really didn't have any fight left in her today.

Henry just shrugged, not committing to anything.

After everybody finished eating, Mrs Liu, followed by Wang came in to say.

"The guest rooms are ready on the 3rd house; you may go there to rest when you would like." She informed the Lina's family members that just arrived.

During the meal, they found out that all three houses in the cul-de-sac are all Henry's. They are currently staying in the first house which happens to be the smallest but styled like that of a Mediterranean house, lots of windows, high ceilinged and open spaces which she personally like. But a bit too many corners on the design.

The middle one is currently inhabitable; Henry haven't decided on the final design on the house though the main structure is already built. And the third, which is the biggest, where the staff also stays is a traditional mansion. From the back of this current house, there is a pathway leading to both houses. There's even a golf cart to use.

The backyard, almost like a forest is all part of the land for the 3 houses. The area itself is filled with rich businessman, celebrities and dignitaries who wants some peace and privacy but still stay close enough to the city. It's hard enough to buy a land in this area even if you have money but Henry managed to buy 3.

Her family who had to take a really long travel to reach Merisa, decided to rest first, because later in the afternoon they will have to get fitted for clothes. Mrs Grace had already arranged for a few ateliers and they will be coming in later in the afternoon for everybody, except for her, of course.

Grandpa Jianyu and Grandma Sophia decided to go home first to rest while Mr Jian Li had to go to the company to take care of a few work matters.

Lina and Henry were called in to sit at the sofa by their mothers who were the only ones left in the house with her. The twins went with their dad to look at the third house and will be back once the girls are tired. Lina felt dizzy as she listens to her mother and Mrs Grace detail their plans for the wedding. So much details! These women are very efficient.

They have consulted a fortune teller, because of course they did, and an evening ceremony will be the best for them. They are preparing a small vow ceremony in the Wu family house' backyard but it will be elegantly and extravagantly set up for sure.

When asked who else will come from any of her friends, she simply said. "Ki Ha."

"Okay. Henry, give me your list today as well." Mrs Grace informs her son who just nods.

"And you've got to prepare a vow Nana." Maria said. "Of course, you too, Henry."

"What? Don't I just have to follow what the officiator says?" Lina asked. She thought she just had to say the words after someone and be done with it.

"Well, Henry don't want an officiator so you just have to say your vows and sign the marriage documents. We thought you would prefer that too since a small ceremony anyway." Mrs Grace answered Lina's question.

Exasperated but really just accepting anything at this point, she said, "Okay. I will go and take a nap. Just do what you want, I'll show up do what needs to be done." She excused herself

Henry stood up when she did to go with her. Lina stopped walking and looked at the ladies. She felt guilty for being such a brat. "Thank you for doing this, I'm sure it will be beautiful no matter what you decide on doing." Which delighted the two women who just called out for her to rest well.

Henry helped her up the stairs, her foot is still not perfectly well, and straight into the bed, his bed.

Feeling conscious that they are alone, she stops him when he started fussing around her. "I can manage, you can go."

Henry didn't even stop, went ahead and took some pillows, placed it under her sprained and went back to tucking her in bed. "I'll go when you're asleep."

"Don't be creepy, I just want to be alone, please."

After some thought, he agreed. "Okay, since this will be the last time you will truly be alone."

Henry leaned down, caressed her face softly. Lina can only freeze and look at him. He kissed her forehead and said, "We will be happy, baby." and left.

Lina wished she has the same confidence as this guy. But she can't help but worry on what kind of marriage the both of them have. With worried thoughts, Lina fell asleep well into the morning.
