She sat down beside him on the couch and glanced at him then at the food. "I didn't know you could cook so well. I'm very impressed."
He laughed, "You haven't tasted it yet."
"I know excellent cooking just by looking at it." He picked up a fork and gathered a little of everything in her plate before handing it to her.
He did the same for his plate, "You haven't eaten yet?"
He looked up from his plate, "I was waiting for you, we did agree to spend today together."
"You're too sweet, darling." She picked up some eggs and pancakes with a fork and placed it in her mouth.
"Darling? I like the sound of that." He smiled and placed some fries in his mouth with a fork.
She let out a sound of approval after tasting the food, "Mmm, this is really good."
He grinned at her seeing how much she enjoyed his food. His phone rang started ringing, he brought it out of his pocket and answered it after glancing at the screen.
"George, have you found out the name of the governor that is backing Clara and Dr. David?" He said into the phone as their new kitty cat came to rub against Freya's legs.
"So that's why?" He said after George's reply from the other side of the phone.
"Set up a meeting with some government officials, I'll meet with them and get their help on opening a case against Clara and Dr. David." He ended the call and turned to Freya who has finished eating and picked up the small cat placing her on her lap as she brushed her fur with her hand. He smiled at the view and picked up his fork to continue eating.
"George found out the connection between Clara and the governor and who he is."
She turned her attention to him and put the cat down, "Who is he?"
"It's Governor Carl Ronald. He is backing Clara and Dr. David because he killed Dr. David's wife, and Dr. David doesn't know, so Clara is blackmailing him to sleep with her and help her and Dr. David."
"How bad can you be that you have to blackmail someone into sleeping with you?" She asked not looking surprised.
He chuckled, "It seems that he's really scared that Dr. David will kill him if he found out."
Her eyebrows furrowed, "I thought that Dr. David's wife died during child birth."
"That's what Carl told the hospital to tell Dr. David. Carl didn't mean to kill her, he sent his man to take out another patient at the hospital who was on the bed beside Dr. David's wife that just got out of labor, but she interfered, so he took them both out.
When Dr. David arrived at the hospital from work, the hospital didn't let him see her because they said that she died during child birth due to an infectious disease to everyone except people in their old age, so they had older people dress and prepare her for the funeral. Dr. David didn't see her bullet wound or her body up close at the funeral, so he believed it was during child birth."
She shook her head and let out a sigh, "I would feel bad for him if he were any other person, but he's Dr. David."
He placed his plate on the table and pulled her closer to him wrapping his arms around her. "We'll get through this together, Freya. We'll have them locked up soon and you'll be safe."
He murmured against her hair and she smiled grateful for his care. She could feel his body heat, she nestled closer to him reveling in the comfort he was providing.
They ended up spending the day cuddling and watching movies.
Lydia entered their work place with Ethan and another woman that looked to be in her early thirties. "Hello, can I have your attention?"
She asked standing in the middle of the office space, the lawyers in the office continued murmuring until Ethan clapped his hand, "People! The boss needs your attention."
Everyone quieted down as the new woman raised an eyebrow with a sarcastic look on her face. "We have a new lawyer joining us here, Brie Anderson, and she's also a family friend of mine. Treat her well." Lydia announced then turned to look at Freya.
"You'll be showing her around until she gets the hang of things."
Freya nodded with a tight smile, still angry at Lydia's betrayal. Lydia walked away with Ethan to her office and left Brie with Freya.
Freya walked back to her cubicle and sat down, ready to continue working on her computer. She didn't realize Brie followed her until she spoke up, "Where is my cubicle?"
She glanced up at her before returning her gaze to her work, "You would have to ask Lydia or Ethan about that."
"What are you working on? Why are you dressed in a suit? Do I also have to wear it?"
"Look, why don't you go ask Lydia about your working space and I will show you around later?"
"Ugh, you're such a b*tch. How dare you refuse to answer me? Do you know who my family is?"
Freya sighed and pinched the skin between her eyes, trying to reel in her frustration, "I'm going to pretend that you didn't just insult me because I am not in the mood."
"How dare you dismiss me?!" Brie screeched and Freya ignored her to continue working on what she was doing. Brie marched away to Lydia's office.
It was already time to leave and Brie hadn't come out of Lydia's office since she went in. Her phone beeped and she checked it, it was Luke, letting her know that he was outside with Trevor.
He had said that he would come and pick her up from the office because he didn't have much work that day, so he was leaving early.
She switched off her computer and packed up her files into her desk drawer while picking up her hand bag from the desk and slinging it onto her arm.
She went to Gwen's cubicle calling out, "When are you going?"
Gwen looked up from the file she was writing on, "I have to finish this, so I will be leaving later, but it seems that you're ready to go."
"Yeah, Luke's outside waiting for me."
"When is Salma coming back from her trip?" Gwen asked referring to the trip Salma went with her family to another state.
"Next week." Gwen nodded, "Let me not keep you here when Luke's waiting for you. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Till tomorrow." She nodded with a small smile and walked out of the office to the parking lot.
She saw the Limo parked close and Luke leaning against the door behind the passenger's seat. She walked to him, he smiled when he saw her making her smile in return.
He opened his mouth to talk to her when Brie's voice cut him off. "Hi! Are you here to open a case? I can show you around and be your lawyer."
He looked shocked at her interference while Freya watched to see what Brie was trying to do. Brie moved so close to him, "Come with me."
Brie attempted to hold his arm, but he moved back and she missed. "I'm not here for that, I'm here for my fiancee."
He walked past her and took Freya's hand leading her to the Limo while Brie stared at them with shock.
He opened her door and she entered while he went to the other side and got in. Trevor started the car and they rode away leaving an embarrassed Brie.
"Nina liked me and she confessed to me when I was going out with Percy, but I didn't tell Percy." Finn said as he, Gwen and Freya were sitting at Betty's to talk about Percy's murder case.
"Are you saying that she might be the murderer?" Freya asked crossing her arms across her chest.
"No, no. She can't be the murderer, but it seemed that she was jealous of Percy even though they were best friends." He said staring intently at Freya.
"You mean just like you and Luke?" Gwen asked sarcastically.
"Why do you have to be like this?" Finn retorted with a scowl.
"It's true, you always think that you're in a competition with him, that's why you stole Percy from him, and now, you want to steal Freya from him." Gwen said staring him down.
"I don't like Freya that way."
"Then why do you keep looking at her like that?"
"Guys, please stop and let's do what brought us here." Freya interrupted them looking between them before she settled her gaze on Finn.
"What more do you know?"
"I also know that Nina was sleeping with Nick, but Percy didn't know."
Freya and Gwen both looked shocked. Who would have thought that Nina would betray Percy when she showed that she cared so much about her?
"How did you know then?"
"I caught them together at one of Community town's parties."
