He had spent the whole day inside the forest after his time with that lizard. Throughout the day he did the same thing he did last time. He searched for Astral Beasts all day that were either in the Awakening Stage or slightly in the Awakened Stage that he could handle. This time around he had fought quite a bit throughout the day and he even was able to slay two Awakened Beasts instead of just one like last time. Though to be fair he did sneak up on both of them to be on the safer side still.
He knew he could probably take them on more easier going head on but it was simply a little too risky and he didn't want to push it just yet, especially after his last fight with one where he almost ended up dead because he got a little too confident in himself. So Fighting them head on might take a little while. After going around all day killing his prey that seemed suitable for him he finally realized it was night and headed back afterwards but what was different from last time though was that he didn't find the Lizard blocking his path like last time.
"Did it give up?"
Maybe with what he did this morning it might of given up and that's why it didn't show up or maybe it couldn't find him this time around he didn't exactly know. It was a little sad to think of the first idea he had thought of though since that would mean it was avoiding him. He wanted people to be with him so he could find warmth and other things among it with a group of people eventually and while an animal might not be his first choice he wasn't against it in the slightest, especially because he had read in one of his books that if they did get to a certain point they could turn human though he had no idea what the requirements were for such a thing all he knew was that it was possible.
That may not be his total reason for getting close to it though. He was alone in the forest and even if it was that lizard it did have some high intelligence for whatever reason and in a way it could be his friend or even listening buddy if anything. That's why he was a little upset at the thought that it might be avoiding him after what he did but he'd have to wait and see if it appeared again because he could never find it on his own. Only when it showed up in front of him did he know where it was.
"It's lived here it's whole life. It most know so some pretty good hiding spots and I'm definitely not good at tracking or sensing things so that doesn't help either." It would have to find him not the other way around. Trudging through the forest, he still hadn't completely gotten use to the view as it was turning night but it was better than the first time it happened seeing as he longer got dazed from it though that took nothing from the attractiveness of its beauty.
After thirty minutes of walking and reaching the exit he still never spotted the lizard once and it never attempted to block his way again. All he could do was leave for today with a slightly bitter taste in his mouth and think about what to do the next time he met it. In the future he wouldn't give up if he had to search the entire forest for the lizard to find it when he got stronger, at least then it would be easier to find it. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though.
"Alright let's go back home."
Turning toward his campsite he made his way back.
Like always she had kept her eyes on him the entire time he was in the forest. Though this time was slightly different for her and even him. When she first saw him in the morning she got slightly excited but was able to calm down slightly afterwards and was even able to temporarily forget about her fear of humans. With those feelings gone though she watched the boy actually try and actively communicate with her even though she herself couldn't talk back to him even if she did understand him. So she ignored him at the beginning to see what he'd do but he just kept going until eventually she responded to him.
After she did that she watched as he did something different from last time that slightly confused her at first and made her shift her guard up slightly more than before once again. But what she witnessed struck her speechless. She watched as he tied himself up and sat on the ground.
"You're an idiot, aren't you?"
That sentence floated through her mind after witnessing that even if it was harsh. What if she attacked him herself and what if something else came up to attack him? He Left himself completely defenseless that way. But after watching him for a couple of minutes and getting over her shock she finally realized why he did such a thing and that shocked her even more then the first thought she had.
"He...did it for...me."
After the last time she had run away after he moved around when she was close he probably felt like he himself was the cause of it. Which led him to take such a measure so that maybe she could trust him a little more and so that he wouldn't make the same mistake as last time. When she realized that and looked at him she finally felt something welling up in her that wasn't just curiosity or joy of finding something different to her. It wasn't something else that she'd never felt before.
A small warmth.
When she continued looking at him further all she could see anymore, was a cute boy trying his hardest in any way he could think of to reach his hand out to her and it numbed her body from the sheer adorableness from it. Before she noticed he wasn't as cold as he liked to show off but she still saw some of it even if it was less, but by now all she saw was a Kindness and warmth radiating from him at this moment. Upon realizing that though a different emotion came that she hadn't felt before and all of a sudden for her it got really weird and she even stopped moving and started panicking for a different reason altogether this time.
With that registering in her mind she unconscionably ran away from him once again but for a completely different reason. When she finally came back to herself after running away and calming down the feelings she felt finally disappeared and she could take a breath of fresh air as calmness flooded through her once again. With her coming back to reality, she realized she had ran away again though.
"I guess this is revenge for calling him an idiot..."
She wanted to go back but every time she thought of going back and attempting to that weird itchy feeling kept coming back until she decided to just give up for the day. She probably made him sad once again but there was nothing she could do but try again later after she dealt with these new feelings. With her curiosity and drive coming even stronger though she began her observations once again.
"I'm sorry but it seems we'll both need some time to do this right ahaha."
With a slight laugh while apologizing in her heart she continued watching him until he eventually left the forest once again. She would face him once again after she got over this because she really didn't have the heart to face him once again.
"Good bye boy"
Waving her tail she silently watched him walk off.
