"Water and....spirit..Maybe?"
"Oh"
With some shock Xelfia acknowledged his effort in taking a guess in the wind but unfortunately for Xilo he wasn't right this time around. That did make her feel a little sadness seeing him guess wrong but she couldn't entirely blame him either because she herself was surprised when she gained her elemental affinity and learned that her affinities were largely based on the individual's personality. " I mean, They just don't fit me do they?"
Though that could be seen as a little harsh on her part which she knew. Speaking of that she was also a little curious on how he came to such a conclusion himself especially since he didn't seem to have said those two things at random with the time he spent thinking and all.
"So water and spirit then, no take backs?"
"Nope final answer."
With a grin she asked the thing she cared about the most and the thing Xilo dreaded the most but certainly knew was coming. He knew she wouldn't miss this chance and now he could attempt to put his plan into action.
"So how did you come to such a conclusion then Xilo?"
Inching a little closer she stepped on his foot slightly to keep him in place in case he ran away and gestured for him to explain. Feeling the foot on top of him didn't disturb him in the least though because he wasn't afraid of his answer being wrong "Kind of." Well maybe 90% certain but that was good enough for him.
"Well since their connected to personalities I tried to think back to all the ways you've acted and presented yourself and came to that conclusion."
"Go on."
"FIguring out the first was one probably the easiest one for me to think of but when it came to the second element that's where I struggled the most."
Cocking an eyebrow she listened patiently for him to finish.
"Since your element technically could have been anything I tried to narrow it down to things that could possibly be related to one of your bigger personality traits I've seen.
"Which is?"
This is what Xelfia wanted to hear the most. leaning forward she accidentally lost some of her composure.
"I'm getting there, don't get too excited haha."
Seeing that he tried to pacify her a little but it was quite cute so he ended up inadvertently laughing. Which made him forget all about the potential punishment he could get for continuing his next sentence.
"And since we're talking about your bigger traits the one thing that came to my mind and struck out to me the loudest was your playfulness. The joy you seem to have messing with me and the coldness you like to show whenever you can around others and your sense of curiosity."
"Hearing that caused one of her eye's to twitch but she didn't do anything because she was the one that asked for it.. "Playfulness? coldness? Teasing? Is that how he sees me?" Well she did acknowledge such things as being a part of her that didn't mean they were the biggest or only part of her. But giving XIlo a chance to save himself she continued listening. She could get her revenge afterwards regardless. Xilo not noticing any of such things continued on.
"So with that in mind I tried to think of elements that could be related to those things mostly. Like ice, fire, Mud, Wind, and other things like that. That is until I remembered some of the stories I've read in the past about Spirits and other ghost-like creatures. In the stories a lot of the times they would be depicted as something scary but there was also quite a bunch of times where they were considered pranksters or similar things of the sort.
The more she heard the calmer she became..
"Combined with your "Freeness" I figured that it was the perfect fit for you in the end and after a couple minutes of contemplating against my other options I went with that one."
With the patience of a saint Xelfia kept listening with a smile as she heard word for word what Xilo had to say about her.
"I see, Interesting take."
"Well it could still be wrong but who knows, The one i'm most confident in though is probably the first element water that I had the easiest time associating with you."
If Xilo said he was a hundred percent with his second guess then he would say no. In Fact that was where all his doubt came from in the first place because there were just too many other possibilities he could've associated with it as well. But with his first guess he was even more than a hundred percent positive and that was something that he was secretly proud of quite a bit. Though if it turned out he was wrong with water as well he'd be pretty depressed about that. "I mean I should know her well enough right?" He knew he wasn't the greatest at seeing through people and who they were especially considering the fact that he never interacted with anyone much before.
But for now and the future he needed to learn. It was his a part of his mini goals to reaching the bigger ones and his first Test and practice was on Xelfia so well he shouldn't be to hard on himself for failing potentially, in the end it would still be a hard blow to learn that he couldn't even tell for certainty what a part of someone was like after spending quite a bit of time with her now. Even if he excluded the time before she transformed into a human in front of him for the first time.
"Oh yes, How could I forget there's still one more element left for you to explain."
"Haha, yes I hope I'm right."
With a soft smile Xilo began to explain his other guess.
