Closer To Her Goal

"You seem to be struggling a little bit. Want some advice?" Hearing that faint voice Tearia looked around wondering where it came from. However that led her to be distracted as she was blocking causing her to take a hit that almost sent her flying out of the training area. "Ouch." Rubbing her arms she got herself up before her Grandfather could pursue fast enough to knock her out of the place completely.

"Are you getting tired, Tearia. Stay focused for a while longer."

"I'm fine."

"Did he not hear that then?" Preparing herself to defend properly this time as she got up Tearia looked around again for the voice splitting her concentration even more and well it was a struggle at this point she managed as she heard the voice again. "Up here silly." Looking upwards she eventually turned to the inn where she saw her Grandmother leaning on the window from her room looking down watching over their fight. Feeling the pressure on her arms from blocking she staggered slightly but held her ground as she watched her Grandmother. "So I'll ask again do you want some advice?" Going for an attack herself she didn't answer with words but instead with a slight shake of her head as she punched towards her Grandfather only to watch it be blocked with ease.

"Grh."

With a frustrated grunt that wasn't like Tearia she tried again to no avail as a soft sigh entered her ears. "I see you're just as stubborn as your Grandfather but if you won't listen to me because you'll feel like it wasn't your win or that it wasn't figured out by yourself then that's foolish Tearia." Hearing her Grandmother hit the mark right on target Tearia winced on the inside. "She's right...." She wanted to do this herself without help or what was the point. "Well Stop thinking like that." Surprised at her Grandmother actually replying to her Tearia almost jumped in surprise while blocking an attack but for her Grandmother it wasn't hard. "It's written all over your face after all." Laughing to herself she continued to watch Tearia struggle.

"It's alright to take advice you know? Being helped isn't really a weakness but refusing it definitely is." Struggling to continue blocking Tearia went for a counter attack to get her Grandfather off her as she listened to her Grandmother's words that caused some slight wavering in her. "But...." She couldn't though she wanted to be strong for herself and for Xilo. If she needed help in an actual fight all the time what use would she be in the future then. "I see, Still playing Stubborn. Then lets change the way I ask the question." Confused at what her Grandmother was talking about she watched her attack fail again but at least she gained some room to breathe for a little bit after forcing her Grandfather back.

"Your goal is obviously to get stronger right and Presumably for Xilo. But doesn't that mean you want to help and be there for him, Doesn't that make him weak then?" "No!" Blurting out that in the middle of the fight Tearia panicked wondering if her Grandfather would find out was going on but besides giving her a funny look for a second or so the fight continued on. "So then why does it make you weak to accept a little advice?" When she put it like that Tearia had a hard time finding it in herself to shake her head and say no again. She didn't want to say yes but looking at it that way she was beginning to think it wasn't the worst thing to agree to and another part of it was Tearia wanted to win.

For almost a month now she had been Consistently losing and she was growing tired and frustrated with it. She didn't expect to win or actually do any significant damage though she knew that was more then impossible for her now but she still wanted something so she could walk away without from this training and go into the competition soon with confidence. Either way she would go to the competition like her Grandfather wanted but the differences in her whole mindset going in would be almost night and day. Sighing Tearia finally gave in to her Grandmother as she shook her head yes. "Haha good girl." Smiling, she told Tearia what to do.

"Aim for his right side and get behind him, that is his weak spot. Over the years he's become slightly more blind in that spot of his eyes then anywhere else. So just wait until he attacks you again and rush there and you should be able to land a hit. The rest is up to you and your skills Tearia. Good luck." Hearing that Tearia was a little surprised to know her Grandfather had such a weak spot since she never noticed it through all there fighting but thinking about it Tearia knew her analyzing skills weren't that good nor could she keep up with the knowledge her Grandmother has on her Grandfather. "I'll give it a shot though I'll probably only have one shot. After that it might be a lot harder." Calming herself she couldn't give anything away nor did she have the energy to do much more herself.

So she had to do it as quickly as possible. "Now to make get him to attack me the way I want him to." Rushing towards him she tried to gain the advantage to keep him off guard. If she wanted this to work she would have to have their fight play out slightly different then usual where she was always on the defensive for a little bit at least. Launching one attack Tearia smiled as she watched her Grandfather block like she expected as she unleashed another one then repeated that as she constantly attacked his guard. It took quite a bit of energy out of her and didn't do much but it was a start towards her goal. That's all that mattered.
