Just The Same As Before

"I Have to change the way I do things." If Tearia wanted to land a successful hit she would have to do everything in her power to change how she fought against her Grandfather. Even if her Grandfather was some kind of fighting god he was still susceptible to falling into the lure of complacency or patterns and with how their fights have been going he was surely at that point to some extent. With how much more experience and practice he had over Tearia, she knew he was probably not expecting much from her however that didn't make her upset because she knew it was the truth yet that didn't mean she wouldn't use it to her advantage.

Though she also knew something like this strategy would never work against someone else. "Not many fights get put into this kind of situation after all." Almost breaking a smile she lashed out at her Grandfather continuously and watched as tiny sparks started to fly off her hand with each collision. "This is going to be close." She had been using her Lightning in and out constantly throughout the day and well it resulted in better use of it she also became more tired than usual and now she was feeling it. Keeping it under her control as best as she could she let her attacks grow fiercer as she pushed on.

Watching Tearia constantly attack him Eli calmly blocked it as he slowly backed up watching her tire herself out. He could have dodged at any point but he had never seen her behave this way so he was curious to see what would happen. "Though wasting all your energy like this is foolish." But she was probably getting desperate. "You need to stay calm in these kinds of situations Tearia.."

"But I am Calm."

Hearing Tearia's heavy breathing while answering him he shook his slightly as a smile surfaced on his face. She wasn't calm in the least but he didn't mind, She would learn eventually. She was wasting so much energy with her attacks now that he wouldn't be surprised if she collapsed this second. Keeping her assault up Tearia ignored her Grandfather's words as thoughts swirled in her mind while pushing him slowly towards the edge of the training area. "This is.....Kinda...fun?" Feeling a rush she hadn't before in her previous fights that thought prevailed in her mind but she didn't care. She was sweaty, exhausted and her bones felt like lead yet...She was having fun.

Besides her times with Xilo she only felt like this on special occasions and even that was rare but at this point Tearia was positive that was the only thing keeping her going at the moment or she would have collapsed already. "I think it's time to end this." Seeing the outer area of the training zone she knew she would have to back off at some point and let her grandfather attack her. She knew he would no longer let himself get pushed back anymore at this point and with one last attack her theory was proved right as she watched her Grandfather dodge off to the side but she staggered as she almost fell herself. "Not now, come on body, move." Her energy was gone at this point and she knew she could barely move anymore. "Just a little more come on..." Feeling the sweat run down her body she watched her Grandfather approach

"Well I think that's enough of that."

Saying that he watched as Tearia pulled her fist back well jumping back to gain some distance quickly but she was already staggering back and forth on her feet. She was on her last wind and would soon collapse with or without him doing anything at this point. Seeing her like that he sighed a little as he calmly approached her. He still wouldn't go easy on her even if she was in this condition and he wanted Tearia to know that no one else would either. "I'm sorry, but you tried and for that I'm proud of you." Appearing in front of her as quickly as he could with his strength he brought his right leg up and swiped it at Tearia planning to knock her out of the training area and end this like every other time. She may be out of breath and barely standing but this was still the end for her today, maybe she would do better another day. She had until the competition after all.

"It seems you've lost today but don't worry you'll have more time to try again. You did good."

With that he watched as his leg went towards her gut. However in the next second he was surprised to watch as Tearia ducked under it at the last second and disappeared. "What?" Not seeing where she went he looked all around in front of him until he felt a hand gently touch his back with a couple of softly spoken words along with it.

"No, I've won."

Barely standing as her hand touched his back she spoke those three words and slowly collapsed as all the energy left her body now that she had finally accomplished what she set out to do. It was unfortunate that she couldn't enjoy it fully though but the ground wanted her to visit her along with dream land it seemed instead. "So tired..." Watching the ground approach her she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Feeling the hand leave his back he quickly turned around to see Tearia falling to the ground and grabbed her before she fell.

Up we go."

Picking her up and hugging her against his chest he silently stared down at her face as he heard her breathing slowly begin to steady out as she began to sleep and sighed.

"You did fantastic..Tearia."

Turning to face the inn he saw his wife approaching with a slight smile on her face as he held tearia and knew something was up seeing her sly smile that he hadn't seen in a very long time.

"What did you do this time? What did you tell her..."

"Me? Doing something I shouldn't? I'd never."

Rolling his eyes he walked towards his teasing wife seeing she was just the same as he remembered in the past.
