Seeing his fist couldn't even leave a mark Xilo was left disappointed as he jumped back to avoid the second blade it held coming at him. "Even the other ones from before took some damage." But it seemed this one was going to be tougher. "It's reaction times aren't that slow either." Landing he watched as Xelfia deflected a sword arm herself before attempting to hit it but even Xelfia seemed to struggle to do anything. "When did she learn to do that..." He remembered Xelfia being a lot worse at fighting but now she seemed so different already so fast.
"Well this place has been rough on her."
Thinking that he blocked the second blade blade coming towards Xelfia.
"Thanks."
"No problem. How do you feel about your chances to do damage?"
"I can probably do something, it just requires time but even then I'm not totally confident."
"That's fine. I doubt this thing is unbeatable. We'll figure it out together."
With a smirk she backed up letting Xilo handle this well she moved to one of the sections of the room in the bottom leaving Xilo alone with the Statue in another. "We need to incapacitate it if possible, though that's the best scenario only. But if I'm able to get my Nature to be strong enough I can probably tie it down. Maybe.." That was the only solution she could think of for now while she also made a mental note to keep track of the floating spirit they saw earlier here and there when she could.
"This will take some more time this way but." She wanted to further increase her fighting capabilities whenever she could and after that fight in the dark room she had felt a lot more confident in this fight so far and in general. "And it can never hurt to try." She wasn't too worried about this statue yet so she wanted to keep practicing at something she was already decent at. Charging forward she went to join Xilo as he was fighting while starting to create the vines necessary for her plan. However as she was approaching she felt a heat starting to build in the air and was soon forced to stop in her tracks as a fire blazed in front of her cutting her off from leaving the other area.
"Well this is new."
Staring at the fire and feeling the heat coming out of it she knew that without a doubt she would be burned alive within seconds even at her strength and looking to the other side of the room there was even more fire blocking her path. She was trapped in a small little box of fire in one section of the room unable to do anything well it was active leaving Xilo alone fighting the Statue. Looking at the ground she saw the lines they noticed earlier filled with flames and sighed. "So that's what they were for. Dammit." Sighing she couldn't do anything as once again the lights flickered leaving her practically blind for a second before turning on once more but her situation was still the same. She could only watch Xilo fight through the gaps of fire and hope for the best.
"Please..."
Panicking Xilo felt a blade glide across his arm as he dodged too late thanks to the lights turning off again. He couldn't see it but he knew from the pain he was feeling all along his arm it was a decently big cut but at least it didn't seem too deep. "Seems like I need to be more careful." Looking at the flames in the corner of his eye he could only sigh knowing Xelfia was trapped behind them for now with no hope of helping him. "Well I hope they turn off again." But maybe it was just a pointless hope to assume since they were off before they would do it again. At the very least it wasn't something he could rely on blindly.
"I knew this wouldn't be easy but I still didn't expect this."
Complaining he continued to dodge the barrage of attacks that refused to stop chasing him as the lights turned off again leaving him to only go off his senses but thankfully he was a little more use to it now and with his experience beforehand he quickly got in the mindset that it was going to happen more often than he thought. "Well at least that test helped for this one." Thanking the test from before he blindly dodged each and every blade until he felt a pillar coming up behind him in his senses. "Our Astral Energy isn't restricted here either it seems so that's nice." Dodging to the side he got out of the way at the last second and heard the sound of a blade striking something.
With the lights turning back on, Xilo turned to the direction and watched as the giant statue struggled for a couple of seconds before pulling out his blade from the pillar and turning around. "hm..." But before Xilo could do anything within less then a second he watched as the Statue disappeared before his eyes before reappearing on the other side of the flames where Xelfia was. "Whoa, what." Barely comprehending what just happened he turned to where the sounds of fighting were now coming and briefly saw Xelfia fighting again yet now there was nothing he could do while he was stuck on the other side of the flames.
"Well this makes this even harder."
With nothing he could he watched Xelfia fight the best he could. Meanwhile Xelfia jumped in surprise seeing the Statue suddenly appear in front of her again with no warning whatsoever.
"Whoa."
Nearly getting struck from being completely caught off guard she stumbled for a second before getting her balance back on track. But she didn't have anytime to think about why or what was happening as she faced a barrage of attacks herself before the lightens turned off again.
"Ow."
