In The Dust

Watching sparks fly all around her arm she felt her hand come into contact with something and pushed without caring. At this point there was no backing down for her, if she did it was over and with all the sparks flying around in her face she could barely see. "I'm going to lose total control of it at this point...." She could feel her arm burning with each second passing but nothing was happening.

*Crack*

Amongst all the cracking of the lightning Tearia managed to catch a sound that wasn't quite like the rest. "So he did block it after all." She couldn't feel anything she was touching at this point so she could only go off a guess but most likely Felix surrounded his body in rock or this fight would have been over already. However this meant she was actually making progress. "Just a little more." Pushing harder she gritted her teeth until she could hear the sounds of them threatening to break as she brought her other arm up and made herself stable with no more rumbling underneath her feet.

"She's insane." "What do you mean?" at this point the whole arena they were fighting in was covered in dust that had been thrown up from broken rumble and the like so not many could see what was happening only her friend could see what was going on but she refused to say anything else. "Tearia....what's pushing you this hard?" Looking at the dust though she was at a loss at what was happening. Soon even more cracks filled the air as their fight dragged even more attention to them as more people turned their way wondering what was happening.

*Crack* *Crack* Crack*

With more cracks being created Tearia felt a little more confident as she pushed forward without stopping until finally one loud crack broke through everything as she felt her hand lose contact with whatever she was hitting. "What the..." Panic set in feeling nothing stopping her from moving forward anymore as her vision was completely blocked stopping her from seeing but thankfully the earthquakes didn't start again so that meant something had changed she just didn't know what. "What's next?" Panting she finally calmed her Astral Energy before it could explode and go crazy as she felt her arm screaming in pain slightly before it began to calm down now that it was no longer under a burden of constant Astral Energy. "I've messed up one arm already, I can't lose another." Steadying her breathing she kept herself alert as the dust finally began to clear.

Yet she wasn't quite ready to see what had happened. "Did I do that.....?" Looking at Felix now he looked completely different as he stood there without moving. His hair had stopped covering his face at this point after being burnt off along with some of dragon scales on the other side and a giant burnt line ran all the way down to his chest. However that was just a part of it. His chest had a giant indent in it as blood was seeping here and there onto his uniform as one as his arms was essentially completely mangled. Even still he stood his ground regardless of the pain he probably felt. He was so beat up Tearia felt like puking at the thought that she even did that to someone.

"There's no way...I did that right? He's just a kid..." Maybe he could be healed eventually but the disgust and fear she felt at that moment ignored all that as she sat there frozen unable to move even though she still had the energy. All she could was stare at Felix as he slowly moved forward still not defeated as mini rumbles happened under his feet. Holding in the slight urge to want to vomit she slowly regained her sanity a bit as one question came to her mind. "Why?" With the condition he was in he shouldn't even be able to move at this point let alone want to move especially with his age so why did he still keep trying. Even she had given up in this fight. With silence washing over them she heard the echo of each step he made until finally she couldn't handle it anymore.

"Why?"

But she wouldn't get her answer to that question as she watched him trip and fall not getting back up. hearing the echoes of cheering and the shouts of her victory though Tearia didn't really know what to think about that her win. "I know exactly why....He's probably similar to me." They both had their goals in mind when entering this competition and both pushed forward to it without stopping even if she did practically give up. Seeing someone so young doing that though just threw her off along with his condition that she caused and in all honesty that was probably the bigger question she asked herself, not Felix.

"Why did I do that to someone?" Slowly she got off that stage as all the damage she dealt to the boy kept reappearing in her mind as she tried to push it away. "I hurt someone so badly without even knowing." Shuddering she looked down at her arm as a slight fear of her strength slowly seeped into her mind unconsciously and without her even knowing she had eventually made it back to her Grandparents as she sat down on her spot a little listlessly not even hearing their words at this point. Until eventually she felt her shoulder rocking back and forth and broke out of her trance.

"Tearia..Tearia....Teariaaaa."

"huh, what?"

Looking up at the face of her Grandparents in front of her smiling Tearia burst into tears for the first time today and cried as she hugged her Grandmother. She couldn't hold in the disgust she felt towards herself at this point anymore and seeing their kind smiles was her breaking point. Not surprised she took Tearia in her arms as she hid her away from prying eyes and let her cry her heart out as she rubbed her hair.

"I know...hurting people is never easy."
