After stumbling around blindly in the forest for some time and getting lost along the way Xilo finally found a familiar area. "This seems like...." Stepping forward more a bit of dread followed his thoughts as he made his way a little more up the mountain again. Following burn marks that appeared here and there on trees or dirt that was kicked up after being walked on a bunch he arrived on top of the mountain where he had fallen in the first place as a deep rooted anxiety filled his body.
"Move...come on."
Standing behind one last tree that blocked his vision his body refused to move forward in that moment. The scenery beyond it was a mystery box that he didn't want to open and yet he knew he had to. "You got this Xilo..." Edging himself on he shakily took one step forward as his body refused to follow along nicely. One step, two steps, three steps and the tree had stopped blocking his vision as the cliffs edge came into view while his breath left him. Looking around he tried to stop his whole body from shaking but there was a deep pit of nausea in his stomach that refused to go away as he scanned the area.
However no matter where he looked he saw nothing there. No bodies, no Xelfia, no Relia, no one but him and one ball of fire that wasn't there beforehand. "Is this good?" Not seeing Xelfia he didn't really know what to think. However he decided to take it as a good thing for now while he walked towards the fire that was a little ways away. With each step his nerves grew slightly calmer as his fears faded away watching the fire gently wave back and forth while swapping between different shades of colours, from pink to red or orange that ball grabbed his attention while it brightened his world as he finally arrived beside it.
"It's beautiful..."
Looking at what almost seemed to resemble a garden of flowers on top made of flames Xilo got a good look at it while his eyes were mesmerized by every movement it made. Moving his hands closer he figured it would try and burn him the closer he got but even as he began to feel the flames there was no sense of pain or anything of the like, just a cool breeze that soothed his soul. However that could of also been his hopes growing bigger. "I wonder what exactly this thing is...It wasn't here before." Running his hands through the flames he began to wonder about how it came to be but he didn't know enough information to really have a good guess. "I guess it's something that's quite rare." Grabbing one of the flame flowers he plucked it just to see what would happen and was pleasantly surprised when he could actually grab a hold of it.
"hmm, interesting, wonder if this is natural..."
Watching the fire flower refuse to fade he held it in his palms while it changed colours for a little bit before looking back at the small garden of them. "I think I'll leave them be..." Maybe they were something special but that didn't matter to him. Right now in this moment he felt it was just the correct thing to do as he took the one he grabbed and stored it away in his pocket for now. Backing away he took one last look around the place to see if he could find anything yet nothing showed itself as Xilo turned around and started heading back down the mountains in a little higher spirit. "Maybe she's okay.." Latching on to that it kept him anchored while he quietly went down the mountain while his body felt better then ever.
"I guess I healed quite fast."
Feeling no more pain in his body he looked at his arm where the chunk had been created but even that was gone by now. "that's really fast, maybe it's because I'm stronger now?" Leaving it at that he swiftly arrived at the bottom of the mountain as he stretched his body. "Now let's get back to town." Thinking that he stared at the direction of the town and followed the road as made his way back completely forgetting his original goal he had when he first came to this place however by the time he had remembered he was already more then half way back and could see the town in the distance.
"I'll have to do it tomorrow or something."
Thankfully he still did have some extra money to spare from before but he'd need to seriously get on top of making some money when he could. "But for now..." With some time passing he passed the entrance to the city once more while he made his way straight to the inn where they had been before. Ignoring the world around him whether it was people or things he didn't care as eventually he made it to the entrance of the inn and pushed open the door. Without even greeting the innkeeper Xilo made his way upstairs and arrived at his room door and stopped. Listening for anything on the inside he tried to hear some kind of noise but there was only silence as he twisted the door knob after unlocking it and walked inside to find an empty room.
"..."
There was no Xelfia waiting for him to return nor Relia here. It was just him and his thoughts but he didn't give up yet. "They're probably just out doing something..." Walking to his bed that thought kept him company as he sat down on it and waited. However after a couple hours had passed and still no signs of anything with the sun going down Xilo was beginning to feel fear. "surely..." A raw fear and reality he didn't want to accept but with another hour passing he was forced to swallow that thought as he started to be unable to sit still anymore. "But her body wasn't there....did they take her...." Refusing to finish that thought, Xilo felt himself cracking as Reality crashed down hard on him.
There was nothing he could do though.
Alone in that room all by himself, tears started to form in his eyes.
