A small Little Chat

Tearia was a little hesitant to move forward until she thought about it a bit more. From the looks of things there wasn't anywhere else for her to go and the man didn't seem hostile. Picking herself up she walked towards the bench as she stared at the man that called to her only to find him familiar. "It's the King." Instantly going on guard, it was hard to forget a face she had just seen and fought with; however he didn't move his body at all as he looked up at her.

"Calm down, I'm not going to fight you anymore at least. This is a special world created to give us some time to talk. If i'm being honest though you were the last person I thought I would see here. If anything I thought it'd be silver haired or red haired one. I guess things don't always go the way you want it but enough of that, sit down and let's talk a bit while we have the time."

Sitting down as far away on the bench from his possible Tearia asked the question on her mind.

"Didn't I kill you, why are you still here?"

"I did die however, think of this as the reward for landing the final blow. It's a part of the system of these places that I twisted a bit to my will. Wasn't too hard, so now we're here talking."

Listening to the King's words a bit of her skepticism faded even if she didn't fully understand it. Watching the king shift around and grab at his pockets she got a little curious at what he was doing as she watched him pull out two weapons that she recognized. "Ravenous and Icebreaker." Resisting the urge to reach out and grab them herself she let the King do what he wanted with them. Holding both weapons in his hands he leaned forward a little bit as he said a silent apology before turning to Tearia and handing them back to her.

"Here, you can have them back. There's no longer any other need for them so they'll be best used in your hands."

"Aren't these things you created and took away from us before, why give them back now."

"I just felt like it though I want you to promise me to take good care of them."

"I can do that I think, I'm sure this isn't why you called me here though just to give these back so what else are you hiding."

"I'm getting there, give me a minute."

Taking a deep breath he opened up his mouth once more.

"I wanted to thank you all for putting an end to me. It may have been hard to tell but I was filled with an infection that was corrupting me. Maybe none of this will make sense to you exactly but I'm sure that boy will understand when you tell him. A long time ago I died on a battlefield trying to protect this world...no that's not right. I was trying to protect the people I loved but I failed. Year's passed without me until my friend Relt stumbled across my corpse one day trying to look for me and that's where things turned extremely blurry."

"hmm?"

"I don't know what happened exactly but as you can see I came back to life sort of. I can feel all the souls sacrificed inside of me screaming out in pain. Thousands of them along with all their different elements used just to bring me back and not even perfectly. Along the way though, an infection got in my system along with my kingdom. With that knowledge they most likely locked themselves away from the world as I laid in slumber trying to heal. Until I was eventually awoken early and unable to do anything about this corruption. While some of this is speculation and guesswork, my fragments of memory let me put some of it together. Most likely the corruption came from that giant long ago and because of that I need you to get rid of my body and all traces of it. It can't be allowed to spread."

"Wouldn't It infect all of us then?"

"No It takes much longer for it to spread, You're safe so try not to worry about that.

"I see, I'll keep it in mind then. I'm sure you just didn't want to talk about that though. You mentioned a reward for me, what is it?"

"Yes, yes. There was something I wanted to teach you in particular now that you're the one here. Give me a moment to remember it properly. It's been a long time since I last taught someone."

Clutching Tearia in his arms he looked at the king's body as he kept thinking he might come back to life but nothing happened even after a couple minutes passing. "Is he actually dead?" It was somewhat hard to believe after all that struggle they had gone through however all signs lead to that. Hugging Tearia tight he let the King out of his sight as he checked on her to make sure she was okay while Marie walked towards him. Sitting down next to the two of them Marie grabbed both of them and inspected the damage they took.

"You're both quite stupid, you know that?"

"...."

Staying silent he didn't know what else to say as he felt a soothing energy enter his body and begin to heal his wounds. "We need to get out of here." He didn't know how yet though he just hoped defeating the King was the key to that. With his current condition though along with the others that would have to wait a little bit. At this point he was sure even the weakest Astral beast in this place could kill them all or at least get close. "Tearia..." Clutching her tighter he didn't know what he would have done without her help there at the end.

This Victory was so much more then his alone.
