With Aeon gone now Xilo felt a little more comfortable. Aeon gave him a weird feeling that constantly put him on edge. "He's a weird one." He wasn't sure about it but his presence also felt familiar to the one that was following them. With him gone though it gave him room to breath as he asked Tearia what was on his mind. She said it would be difficult to cure so he was curious what they would have to do. He already knew Tearia was telling the truth so anything else didn't matter to him.
"You mentioned it would be difficult to cure, what do we have to do?"
"It'll take a couple things that we might need Aeon to get for us and then one more ingredient that's quite rare if I remember right. Afterwards we need to make sure it doesn't infect any of you. I have no idea if it spreads or has to be directly injected so it's better to be safe."
"Alright, what's the rare ingredient we need then?"
"Luckily it's natural location isn't too far from here. About a week at normal speeds to find it or a couple days depending on your speed. It's another plant called Selin. It replenishes Astral Energy at an alarming rate and clears the body of impurities. It should be able to kill off any of the Lezal in their system and give them back a lot of their energy. The only problem is we're on a time limit, if they don't get healed soon they will die."
"Then we can't be sitting around waiting for you to prove it to Aeon. The three of us will go find it while you take care of them. Sounds good to you?"
"Yeah, that's fine, I should be able to take care of myself. Just let me write down its location on a piece of paper first. Though what about checking to make sure you're not sick?"
"That's fine, we can do it when we get back. It should only take a couple days and we'll be careful."
"I'm not okay with that answer but fine. I swear if you get yourself hurt, any of you."
"We'll be fine."
Walking over to the desk the Leader was at before she took some paper from it as she wrote down the directions and what the plant looked like. "Hopefully it's there." There was a chance it might have been taken by others but she just had to hope they could find some. They didn't need much for a cure so even just a couple of them was enough. Finished writing it down, she brushed up her hair slightly as she handed the paper to Xilo just in time for Aeon to return with some guests.
"Alright go, I'll take it from here."
"Right, get to it."
Grabbing the paper he turned around and met eyes with Aeon.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"We're going to go look for something Tearia needs, We don't have time for to wait for things to be verified."
"....Very well, good luck."
Letting their little group pass Aeon looked at Tearia as he brought in a couple doctors of his own. "Not everyone's words can be taken at face value regardless if you doubt them or not." He believed Tearia but he still needed actual proof or else he couldn't do much. Having more doctors help her out as well wasn't a bad thing either. Before they didn't know what was causing it so they couldn't do much but now was different. "If she's right." Letting Tearia explain things to them he watched over her debating whether to follow their group or not. In the end though he decided to stay with Tearia. There was a lot more he could do here then if he followed them.
"I need to tell Telan as well, I have some ideas of who did this but he probably can help out as well."
He wanted word of this to spread as little as possible. If a sickness that could drain people of their power was to spread around the country they would be in mass panic. Astral Energy was way too important for them to suddenly lose it. "That's if it's a sickness though." Letting thoughts roam around his head he continued to listen to Tearia speak as more doctors' faces turned from skepticism to shock. "Looks like she's right." He was a little surprised to see someone so young know so much about medicine but he had gotten his proof. Now it was time to start working on a cure.
"As you can see, if they keep losing their power it'll eventually kill them."
Stepping in himself he asked the important question.
"Alright, how do we cure it then and how can I help?"
"i'll need a couple things from you. Mostly things you can buy off the market and I'll need more help to support people. As long as we can give them doses of energy they shouldn't die if we're lucky but we're only stalling it. Afterwards we need to find the source of it and stop it obviously."
"Of course, now what do you need me to buy?"
"Firstly...."
Naming off a small list from the top of her head Tearia got to work. If they wanted to save these people they needed to start right away. "Weird." Tearia felt a little funny playing the doctor for the first time in her life but a small part of her thought it felt natural. She was taught medicine for a large part of her life but largely ignored it. Now here she was relying on all the knowledge to save others. She really didn't know how to think about that especially when she cared more about fighting for Xilo then anything else. "For Xilo..." Directing the people around here she made sure she focused as she dropped her thoughts after finishing off the list for Aeon.
"Got it, I'll get on it right away."
