Making their way up to a large fence they looked through the cracks in between as a large field full of grass and tents filled their vision. People were constantly running in and out of them as they tried to handle the poison. For the most part though Xilo didn't see any desperate panic on their faces. "Maybe this City has done better than the rest." Towns didn't have the resources available to them but a city did. it was just a matter if they had all the knowledge to make use of it. With how much time had passed and how quickly a cure was found though they probably had some inkling of what to do. The longer it lasted the easier it would be to fight off.
"It looks like this place is doing quite well compared to everywhere else."
"Heh, no surprises there. These places would enter real chaos if the big guys here didn't do anything. With such a large merchant district, information has probably got around to them quite fast compared to towns. It makes our job easier but somehow it still pisses me off."
"Try not to overthink it Xelfia, less death is always a good thing. We've already seen more bodies then we can count."
"Yeah well....How do we get in there to help, this gate looks locked."
Looking at the gate's giant padlock Xelfia had a few questions about the reason but she left it alone. "It looks more like they're trying to keep people out." Tucking that thought into the back of her head she watched as Xilo rang a small bell that was off to the side. Giving it a few rings, Xilo took a step back and waited. He figured someone would show up in a couple minutes and he was right about it. After about five minutes of waiting someone finally came up to the gate and gave them a look over. Once that was done the older looking man spoke up.
"Who are you people and what do you want? We aren't currently accepting guests and we have no time to be playing games with some...kids."
HIs voice oozed with superiority and boredom as he looked at the group of people in front of him, his eyes never left the fox though.
"We were sent here to help out with the sickness that's been spreading."
"Really? one little kid and a group of women, think they can spout such nonsense. Come back when you've figured out a better excuse. I don't have time to be wasting on this nor the want."
"Oi, we aren't lying. We're trying to help."
Unfortunately the man had already begun to walk away completely ignoring them as his sarcasm stuck in their ears like glue. They had been doubted before when trying to help people out except those times they were given a chance to prove it. This guy just made fun of them, then left without a care in the world. Feeling a bit irritated, Xilo rang the bell once more. No one came this time even after waiting ten minutes. Standing out in the streets Xilo felt a bit lost. "Alright, if that didn't work what do we do now?" He thought about jumping over the fence and just breaking in but that was probably the worst idea. There was no way traps and security didn't linger hidden all around this place.
"Well then. Now what?"
Hearing Tearia's slightly disheartened voice, Xilo shook his head.
"Let's see if there's another way in. This place should wrap around in a giant circle. Surely there isn't just one entrance."
Following that line of thought their little group started to walk the edges as they looked for another entrance. All while a couple groups of people watched their movements. That man from before was included amongst them. Usually when someone showed up to their gate they would ask for a reason and identification then proceed from there. This time though he didn't follow that procedure. Instead he lied to his Clan mates once he reported back to them. Telling them they were just a bunch of kids trying to cause trouble. Seeing them snoop around more furthered as proof for all of them there as they discussed things.
"If they keep snooping around like this?"
"Could lock them up or Beat them until they can't move anymore. Plenty of options really."
A small group of about six people started to discuss what to do about them as the man edged them on. "I want that fox." He noticed when they approached them a fox in one of the girls arms. After he took a better look at it he saw a small Heart symbol on it's head signaling that it was a rare and valuable fox type called Helis. They were an extremely rare breed of an Astral Beast that's strength could grow incredibly high. Paired with their high intelligence as they got older they had to be caught when they were younger which was almost impossible. Since the parents would generally protect them. Those kids however were carrying one around in the open like it was nothing, if he got his hands on it then he could move up in the world or even become rich. "I can't let them escape." Idea's were spreading in his mind as he watched them ring another bell as another member got angry.
"Ha, Watching them like this isn't going to get us anywhere. I'm going to go talk to them."
Standing up from his seat the woman who spoke up made her way to the gate they went to.
"Good, of all people she's going."
Out of everyone here she was the most impatient of them all and rudest, she was bound to blow a fuse and worsen the situation.
"Hopefully they start a fight, that would be perfect."
If everything went the way he wanted that fox would be in his hands in no time
