As the chaotic space energy made contact with Xelfia's skin it blew up instantly giving her zero time to react. The weight of Xelfia left Felli's sword giving her a moment to breathe and stall time. The explosion carried Xelfia through the air until she slammed into one of the pillars nearby. Bending her back against it Xelfia felt her bones threatening to snap into two pieces as she turned the pillar to rubble. Flopping to the ground Xelfia threw her arms out, catching herself. She felt awful. Glancing at her arm she saw it turn dark red with a couple black marks scattered about. Moving it around a bit she made sure it was still working properly as she stood up. "One nasty attack." She was surprised she hadn't lost her arm from that attack alone.
"The others were far too soft on you Felli, Don't expect me to be the same. If I have to kill you I will and I really want to in this moment, so I hope your prepared."
The set of red claws on Xelfia's hands shined as she closed the gap between them. She desperately wanted to rip Felli apart piece by piece with her claws. Slashing her whole hand at Felli she aimed for her throat without any mercy. Sweat ran down her face as she attacked Felli. Feeling her claws touch something for a split second and then vanish, Xelfia knew she had missed. Felli was no longer in front of her though, throwing her off guard. Searching around everywhere for her, Xelfia failed to notice Felli's presence behind her. Coming out of a crack in space Felli stabbed Xelfia in the back and pushed her blade in. Feeling metal run straight through her body, Xelfia faltered for a second.
"You can still teleport!?"
Shocked that she was actually able to teleport to different locations, Xelfia panicked before grabbing onto the blade in her stomach. Gripping it with her hands she thought about a few options in her head before refusing to let it go. Instead she pulled it deeper as searing pain traced her stomach. Pulling Felli closer she didn't know what Felli would do next in this situation. Trying to pull her sword back Felli struggled for a few moments as Xelfia trapped her. "How much longer?" Turning around, Felli eyed Xilo on the ground as she tried to keep everyone's attention. Most of the others were breaking out of their sudden shock now while Marie and Tearia treated Xilo. If the others there teamed up against her she would be in trouble. Feeling the hilt touch Xelfia's back a sense of dread attacked Felli as she quickly gave up on trying to retrieve her sword.
If she held onto it any longer she felt like she would lose her hand as well in the process. "She's crazy." Once Felli let go of her blade Xelfia grinned as she turned around and grabbed at Felli before she could back away. Pulling the sword in her stomach all the way through she didn't care at all for her own well being. Thrusting her own sword straight at Felli she sunk it into the girl's shoulder as she pushed her back, slamming into the pillar she had destroyed earlier. Watching the blood trickle out of Felli's body Xelfia felt a sense of enjoyment. "Let's see if you can teleport out of this." Relentlessly punching her in stomach Xelfia gave her zero time to do anything.
"Bleh..."
Coughing as her rib cage was being destroyed Felli started to distort space around her trying to escape. "I'm not good at this still." Ever since she had obtained that book she had improved over time and those results had really shown today. The massive drawbacks had also appeared as well, the large energy consumption and requirements to use them. They were both drawbacks that Felli couldn't handle at this moment. "Need to attack back." Kicking her feet she tried to get Xelfia off of herself. Xelfia just took it without flinching, keeping Felli trapped where she was. Peering at Xelfia's face filled with rage as her eyes went crazy, she could see scales starting to form where her skin used to be.
"You really are an Astral Beast...."
It was something Felli had a hard time believing at first but with Xelfia standing in front of her now she believed it.
Hearing that only made Xelfia attack harder as her claws started to dig into her skin with each attack. She was purposely avoiding using them before however now she had lost any want to stop them. "All this work, all this pain, just for you....not worth it." Frustrated that all this was happening Xelfia took out all her anger on Felli. In the head she kept replaying that scene of Xilo falling to the floor as she thought about the chances of him surviving. An attack like that wasn't something most people could recover from. "Xilo..you idiot." Tears started to fall down her cheek as she thought about it more and more. Slowly she lost some of that power behind each attack, giving Felli the chance to escape.
Balls of energy floated into the air and expanded before exploding instantly. Destroying the room around them entirely. Felli felt Xelfia let go as they were both blasted around the room. Once she hit the ground Felli felt her head spinning as she grabbed the sword in her shoulder. Pulling it out, she closed the wound as best as she could while standing back up. "Just a bit longer." Waiting for the dust to clear up Felli knew all of them would be coming for her now. Lying in his own pool of blood Xilo felt some of his pain fading away as the room spinned around him. "Keep focus." Listening to the voice inside of his head he did his best to keep thinking straight.
"Why did she do that?" He wasn't expecting anyone to answer that question, yet the voice in his head still gave him an answer. A soft voice touched his ears and soothed the pain a little bit. "She doesn't trust you or more accurately she doesn't trust herself or the power you hide." In a dark empty place a woman floated around as she answered Xilo's question. "The power I hide, do you mean those blades?" "Yes, unfortunately she has seemed to learn a lot more about them since you last met and she finds it hard to trust an unstable power." Xilo didn't really know what to say to that in response to that, staying silent he tried to think. "Then why doesn't she trust herself?" Taking a second to answer, the woman recalled a few dreams she had seen.
"She's scared, scared of herself and her mother....She's testing you and herself. She wants to see what you can do. I'll tell you this right now though. Those blades won't help one bit. The Queen will destroy you with or without them. If you want to pass this test by Felli, you're to stop them from taking control completely."
"That sounds easy enough I think.....Though how do you know all of this?"
"I have my secrets to keep, nor do we have enough time to talk. She ripped a whole in the seal that keeps your blades locked away and it's coming for you. It's time for you to fight against them and reseal them. Can you handle that?"
"We'll find out...."
As soon as he finished saying that Xilo was overwhelmed by a familiar feeling.
