"I'll be your next opponent, maybe you'll have an easier chance against me Xilo."
Raran stepped up from the small crowd of people to fight next.
"Win or lose I'm having fun regardless and I doubt I'd really have a better chance against you. You're just as tough as Vandor and Keld."
"True, true, did you want to fight someone else then. Everyone here is eager to fight you all the same."
Shaking his head, Xilo didn't care how many losses he took or in what order people fought him.
"I'll fight you, just don't go easy on me alright?"
"Haha, no promises."
Standing on the field Xilo waited for Raran to make the first move. Raran was someone who had managed to catch Xilo's attention but never really stood out. "He's pretty normal." His face wasn't anything special, with the only trait that stood out would be silver hair similar to Xilo's own. His black eyes shined clearly and a bit too purely for someone in his line of work but nothing else really caught the eye.. "Maybe I just haven't gotten to know him enough." Raran brushed aside his loose robe and pulled out a silver sword that was thinner than most. Gripping the red handle Raran's Aura turned sharp. "Yup that's the aura of a fighter." Xilo found that a tad bit funny as he suppressed a chuckle and got ready to fight.
"So you're a swordsman then, It'll be nice to learn a thing or two from you."
"You're sort of right but I won't spoil the surprise. If you can end up seeing it, that is."
Left in the dark by that statement Xilo felt the wind brush his cheek as Raran disappeared before his eyes. "The fuck?" Looking everywhere he could, Xilo tried to find Raran's presence. No matter where he looked with his eyes or senses though nothing showed up. Putting his guard up a chill filled Xilo's breath as he got ready for an attack. "He could end this in an instant." That was a fact that Xilo couldn't deny as he felt a chill reach his back. Twirling his whole body he slashed at the air behind him. "Nothing." There was nothing there but air.
"The air doesn't deserve that Xilo."
The cheering of Felli reached his ears but he didn't have time to respond. He felt like his life was in danger each second Raran wasn't in his vision. Sweat had started to form on his palms as he held Ice Breaker. "Is he invisible, too fast or something else?" Besides faint traces of the wind touching his skin, Xilo couldn't do anything. "It kind of feels like Aeon's ability but..it's not." Feeling a knife coming for his throat Xilo blocked any way for Raran to hit there with Ice Breaker while Ice sprouted from the ground behind him to protect him. No attack ever came for him, he didn't even feel anything touch his blade or disturb his ice. " I feel like an idiot." He was sure to everyone that didn't know Raran was here to begin with he would look like a clown fighting his own shadow.
Vandor and Keld stood off to the side watching the fight.
"How long until he figures it out Keld, My bet's on never."
"Hard to say, Raran's ability is quite nasty. He appears so harmless....but I think he's the most dangerous person in this group. I'm actually kind of worried for Xilo's safety a bit."
"Raran is a bit of a mystery but Katrin picked him out, I'm sure she trusts him and if it looks like anything will happen we can step in. I doubt he'll hurt Xilo though, he would have already if that was the case."
"Maybe...the longer he uses that ability though the more aggressive he gets...if he can't control it..."
"The Frenzied Wrath....We'll let the fight go on for a couple minutes, if Raran doesn't end it we'll step in just in case, sound good to you Keld?"
"Yeah, I'm starting to like Xilo a bit, it would be a shame to see him die so soon."
Raran was given the name of Frenzied Wrath for his fighting style and the sheer amount of people he had killed. "He has a body count higher than all of us combined." Adjusting his Glasses Keld Watched Xilo panic. "He just showed up one day out of the blue..." If Raran wasn't fighting he was normal, similar to Vandor. When a fight actually began though his ability eroded his mind causing him to go berserk the longer he used it in exchange for power. The few times Keld had actually talked to Raran, he mentioned something about giving up his life span for it. "Raran is already good with a sword..so why?" It was something Keld could ever wrap his head around. "Raran...why against Xilo?" He wasn't a show off so there had to be a reason.
"What are you fighting for Raran?"
Whispering that under his Breath Keld watched the fight go on as he counted to two minutes. Continuing to fight against the air, Xilo was incredibly lost. Nothing he was doing was working and Raran never actually attacked him. "I don't know what to do." Confusion filled his mind as Xilo briefly sensed a familiar aura. "Huh?" Trying to find where that aura was coming from Xilo got a bit distracted from the fight. In his confusion, Xilo missed the wave of wind coming straight for him. "I wasn't paying attention!" Panicking like crazy, Xilo went to defend himself as the feeling of death creeped up on him. He was far too slow to block whatever attack was coming for him and in a moment Xilo felt pain stab through his body.
Looking down Xilo saw a silver sword pierce through his stomach along with his blood.
"...That.."
Looking up, Xilo also noticed something else that terrified him as he saw Raran smiling at him calmly with blades hanging out of his body. A few shouts of panic escaped some of the viewers as Vandor and Keld instantly stepped forward. Raran quickly held them back though as he shouted at the top of his lungs. "What'd he say?" Unable to hear properly as Raran sword dug into him more Xilo looked on in horror at a familiar sight. "I've...seen this before." Realization dawned on Xilo as he stared at the blades in Raran's body. "Not you too..." Grabbing Raran's sword he tried to pull it out.
"Everyone here stay back, if you get any closer I'll kill him. Especially you two."
Barking that out Raran's eyes never left Xilo's body.
"What do you think you're doing Raran?"
Shouting that out loud Keld listened to Raran, if he didn't Xilo would die without a doubt.
