Two Queens Talk

After listening to the message a couple more times Xelfia slipped the tablet into one of her pockets. "This really was your last wish." Bowing at the grave Xelfia gave her respects to all of her family. "Thank you for setting me free." Peeking over at Xilo, Xelfia debated what to do in her mind. "Later." Giving Xelfia some space, Xilo surveyed the sea of graves while Tearia picked up all the weapons again. "Azurin's death explains the condition of this place." With no one left alive to control this place everything had shut down. "I'm sure this place has a lot of treasures." Even knowing that Xilo walked back to the main room bringing everyone else with him.

"Take your time Xelfia, we'll all be waiting for you back at the surface."

Without waiting for a response Xilo left Xelfia all alone. By herself Xelfia took a deep breath as she dropped down low to the ground. Her scales came out as she returned to her original form. Spreading her tiny wings and stretching her claws, Xelfia let out a wild roar. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." Letting everything out she dropped her head to the ground. "I'll see you all again.." Turning around she was about to leave before she felt a searing pain on her face. A black flame ignited while her stomach exploded. Crying out in pain Xelfia felt her own power fighting against it. "What's going on?" The flame grew higher on her face as Xelfia fell to the floor shocked. Looking up at the cave ceiling Xelfia saw a figure.

"Who...are you?"

A woman's shadow appeared in the black flames staring down directly at Xelfia.

"So you're the first he has chosen to link with. It's been a long time since I've seen a Dragon, for him to find one and get you under his leash he must be quite lucky. You'll also be a useful tool for me as well."

Through the pain Xelfia heard the woman clearly, she even recognized the voice.

"Althea...I'm not a tool that you can just simply use."

With a crazed smile Althea enjoyed watching Xelfia writhe around on the floor.

"As long as you stay with Xilo you always will be. You're already transforming as is, I wonder if you can keep your sanity through it all. Xilo managed to survive creating a connection with me long ago, in return though he lost all his memories of that time...and so did I. From what I can tell you seem to love the boy, I wonder how much it'll hurt him if you forget all your feelings for him. It'd probably crush his soul, ripping him apart from the inside. Maybe he would finally join me then. The rightful place where he belongs, by my side."

"I won't break so easily and neither will Xilo. I don't get why you want him so badly but we will stop you. A little Zytal Blood isn't scary."

Hearing her bring up the Ancient Demon Blood Althea's smile grew wider, the flames leaned down as if whispering in Xelfia's ear.

"Oh? So you know about one of his little secrets. Do you think that makes you special, like all of sudden you can help him. That he isn't so scary anymore? It really pains me to say this, it does but that blood is just the beginning. I experimented on that boy for months, I tortured and tried injecting him with every kind of Demonic Blood I could get my hands on. "Oh but Althea how is that possible?" Simple, I killed hundreds before him trying the same things, he was the first to survive. He's not human, not Zytal, he's his own unique race and the very first of his kind. A ticking time bomb that is waiting to explode. The only reason he's beside you still right now is because I'm allowing it. So don't get ahead of yourself. You're just an oversized dog that thinks you can bark."

Shivers went down Xelfia's spine as Althea whispered into her ear.

"You're far from in control of Xilo, Althea. I'll beat this stupid blood and rip your throat out with my bare teeth. Things won't always go your way and I plan on making sure of that."

Unable to suppress a chuckle hearing Xelfia's threats the flame shook like it was laughing.

"I hope that blood rots your mind, getting rid of every single memory you've had with the boy. That it tears you apart from the inside and eventually kills you. Dragon's have always been cowards that would run when they met a challenge, you won't be any different. When you were fighting earlier, you already proved that. You needed the boy's help as you broke down. Even now you're still crying over your parents."

"....."

The flames Althea was taking over started to flicker and dull.

"Looks like I'm out of time, If you survive I'll see you when Xilo truly awakens. I wonder if you'll run first?"

Like that the figure disappeared leaving Xelfia all alone as she fought against the pain. Gripping her paw Xelfia fought through the pain as she stood up. "What do you want from us so badly." Closing her left eye that was burning Xelfia took a step forward. "Looks like the pain is passing." Making her way back to Xilo, Xelfia engraved into her heart that she would prove Althea wrong. "I wonder what she meant by his true awakening." If what she said was true Xelfia was curious as to how much power lurked underneath the surface. "A unique race, one of a kind." A deadly grin full of viciousness and cruelty flashed by as Xelfia thought the same of herself now.

"I wonder how your blood tastes in person, Althea. I eagerly await the day we meet again. We'll see how hard a coward can fight back."

The flames solidified themselves as they went back into Xelfia's body, slowly she was gaining traits of Xilo.

Sitting in her room all alone in a castle Althea crushed the cup she was holding.

"That bitch thinks she's tough."
