Sewers

"The hell...demon blood. Where did you find that kind of stuff and why, everyone else destroy those creatures the second they are found."

Wiping some of the drool of her mouth Mika looked at the freak next to her that was acting like this was normal.

"Xilo is a demon and I've been stealing it from him everyday. He doesn't know that I've been taking it though since it's usually after he passes out from his practice on controlling it with Aeon. As for why, I want to try some experiments with it. You're the guinea- I mean test subject. I plan to inject it into more people and create a small demon army. Their dose's will be a lot smaller than yours though, since I gave it to you with a different purpose in mind."

Mika really didn't know what to think but she had to ask.

"What purpose is that?"

"Besides leading that army of demons, I also want you to fight Xilo. Destroy him, try and kill him. Doesn't matter to me what you attempt to do as long as you fight him. Your entire purpose is just to be a machine that fights. You are "dead." Does that clear up your questions?"

Mika could feel just how serious Katrin was when she said that. "Kill him, fight him?" This was coming from the person that was supposedly on Xilo's side. "This doesn't feel right." Even with Mika's growing doubts, it was already too late to go back. The chill of steel was a constant reminder that her will didn't matter anymore. "She really meant it when she said I was dead." The nausea she felt was clearing up as Mika sat up and stretched her body properly. It had been a few days and she was getting cramps everywhere. Cracks and groans of satisfaction left her mouth as she felt the changes in her body.

"Why don't you hate demons?"

"Why do I need to, they aren't any different from anyone else in this world."

"I think you're one of the few people who actually think that."

"You'd be surprised just how many think similar. Some just don't have the power or confidence to say it. Enough chatting, I want to see what you're capable of now. If you aren't strong enough you won't stand a single chance against Xilo. You've got at least a couple months until you see him again. If you can't even beat him by then, I'll just kill you on the spot. Tools that don't serve their purpose are useless. So make sure you give it your all."

"Aren't you supposed to be on his side....?"

Grumbling as she followed Katrin, Mika heard a surprising response.

"Oh trust me, I am on his side."

His vision blurred as the world around him came into existence. A dizzy feeling attempted to push him to the ground where he stood but he managed to stand tall. "So much worse then every other time." He had figured since he had experience with teleporting already it would be fine. That wasn't the case though, his whole body felt on. "Why is it so different now?" Grabbing his head, his vision finally cleared up as he looked around the room. It was an abandoned wooden house with mould and dust growing everywhere. "It smells awful." Plugging his nose, he checked to make sure everyone was counted for.

"You guys all good, any missing body parts?"

Xilo voice echoed out in the small little house as he pulled out the map Katrin gave him.

"We're all good, just a bit sick."

"Yeah I was too, I wonder if the distance we travel has anything to do with it."

"It does, your body gets more torn up the further we go or so my Grandfather told me. This place hasn't seen a person in years though, it's quite gross."

Felli chimed in with that knowledge.

"Apparently it's underground by Central City. Katrin said something about it being a secret place hidden from Tidal's eyes. You're Grandfather also made a similar place to these in every country. I doubt any people have seen this place in decades which would explain the...look. Apparently there's a sewer on the other side of this door so we'll be using this map to guide us to the surface. Katrin sent us first to meet with the Queen and the soldiers she's sending will arrive later. We are the scouts of sorts but for now let's just get out of the nasty place and onto the surface."

"Please, I'd rather not get any more dirt on my clothing."

Tearia could feel the slim leaking down onto her clothes. "Disgusting." Following closely behind Xilo, they all walked into a small corridor with what looked like water in the middle. The wet feeling only got stronger as they went through the maze of corridors. "I'm never going to get this smell out of my clothing." She would most definitely have to burn all the clothing they wore today and get replacements as soon as possible. "Oh well." Tearia found shopping quite fun and finding new outfits was always nice. Hopefully they had time for that before going right to meeting the Queen. She would have to ask Xilo once they got to the surface.

Tearia also kept an eye on Xelfia's injury. She knew it was mostly healed but a wound like that still risked the chance of infection. "Who knows what kind of diseases are down here." She would rather Xelfia not have to suffer anymore so soon. The sloping wet noise echoed with each step they made. Xilo kept checking the map to make sure he was going in the right direction. "Why not just teleport us directly there?" He knew it wasn't that simple but he still wished they could. After a little bit more walking Xilo saw a ladder leading up. "Oh this is it." Finally seeing the exit Xilo rushed forward and let everyone else climb up first with him being last.

Sunlight peeked through the top as someone exited the sewer they were in.

"Finally some fresh air that's not just mould."

Taking in any of the air they could Xilo noticed that they were currently in what seemed like an alley.

"We shouldn't be too far from where we were told to meet her."

Katrin had already informed Tidal's Queen and told her where to meet and it wasn't far away from what the map said.
