The city disappeared behind them as Xilo and Lexia entered the park that they were staying at. Going past the pond Xilo hadn't let go of Lexia's hand since they had left. Since she made no attempt to pull away he figured she didn't mind. "Or to get out of it to notice." If that was the case it was best he didn't leave her alone. Taking her towards their place Xilo stepped inside as the smell of wood entered his nose. "I wonder if anyone's here?" He didn't hear anyone close by but they could have just been working or even out still. Taking Lexia to the dining room he opened up the set of double doors and spotted someone sitting inside staring at a couple pieces of paper.
"Hey Vandor, how did everything go, is everyone back yet?"
Looking up from his work Vandor waved at Xilo.
"Things went alright, It'll still take a bit of time. For now I'm just doing some reviews. I think the others are out doing some stuff. I should be the only person here right now. Why what's the...matter..?"
Peering at the figure beside Xilo, Vandor spotted Lexia's dishevelled figure as his sentence trailed off. Picking up his paper, Vandor knew that they probably needed this space. Without saying much else he left after hearing Xilo thank him. "She looks miserable." Interacting people was still far from Vandor's strong suit. He was to much of the big and quiet type to really of be use. The least he could was go get something else that could probably help. "Xelfia and the others should be back soon." If he saved the review for later he could go out looking for them. Lexia's wellbeing was a lot more important since she was hosting them.
"I guess the girls had gone out while I was gone if Vandor's the only one here. I hope they're back soon."
Xilo sat down with Lexia and went to the kitchen through a small door at the far end of the table. "She should be fine for a couple of minutes." Peeking over his shoulder he made sure she was actually sitting before she disappeared from his view. Taking some things out of the shelves, Xilo started to prepare a warm drink for her. "If...." Shaking his head he didn't let the question continue any further as he felt his hands shaking. Once it was done Xilo headed back out and sat down next to lexia and passed her a small green cup full of warm liquid. "Some tea." It was far from anything special, Xilo wasn't the best when it came to stuff like this.
"Mmmm."
Mumbling Lexia dragged her hand across the table and grabbed the cup. She felt the cup burn her hand but she didn't let go of it. Putting it up to her mouth she felt the lava hot tea enter her mouth and go down her throat. Even with how it was Lexia still could taste how bad Xilo was at making tea. "It's horrible." At least when she compared it the usual she had, this had a bit of a different taste though that she didn't mind even if it was awful. "I'm an idiot." Some of Lexia's vision cleared up as the heat woke her up. The warmth travelled through her body and stopped her from shaking so much.
"Thank you."
It was quiet enough for Xilo to almost miss it but it was sincere. Unable to stop his lips from curling into a small smile, Xilo took a drink of some of the tea he made for himself. "I did pretty good this time around." He was quite impressed with the outcome of the taste. He hadn't done it a lot and was learning with the help of Katrin and the maids/butlers. He was improving though with each try he made, maybe eventually it would be up to their quality. Until then he would have to deal with the mess of flavours that was his current tea. Vandor headed outside of the house as he went to look for the girls to bring back to Xilo.
"I wonder, did they say where they were going when they left this morning?"
He tried to remember what happened earlier today but he couldn't recall them saying much. "Looks like this might be a bit difficult." Rubbing his hair he was about to start searching for them when he saw a couple figures at the edge of his view coming towards him. His guard went up for a quick moment before recognizing the people that were coming towards him. "Perfect timing." It was Xelfia and the others returning from their trip. Rushing up to them, Vandor was pretty lucky that they had come by right as he was leaving. If he was a bit earlier he might have passed them and been searching around the City for hours just to find no one.
"Ladies, it's good you've returned. Xilo is currently waiting for you in the dining room and it seems to be a bit urgent."
Xelfia sensed Vandor approach them as she stopped talking with the girls to greet him. She thought it would have just been a casual greeting but hearing him mention Xilo needing them stopped any attempt at small attack. Walking past him without so much as a goodbye Xelfia dragged the girls with her. Their little trip today could be shown off at another time when they weren't busy. "Felli was quite cute today." Xelfia got to see a side of her that she didn't really think was in her. Xilo would probably be really eager to see her like that again. "That'll have to wait though." She had also gotten some stuff for herself and Tearia as well so there was plenty to show off.
Stepping inside the house Xelfia went straight for the dining room and opened up the doors. Inside she spotted Xilo who waved at her but completely ignored him as he saw Lexia's current state. her make up was in a complete mess and her eyes were red and puffy. "Oh no." It was a look that she had seen a couple times in her years with Xilo. Mostly from Tearia whenever she had gotten really sad and Felli. "What happened?" Sitting down Xelfia heard the other girls right behind her as they all thought the same thing. With the girls here Xilo finally felt some relief as he let out a deep sigh. "I'm not alone now, thankfully." Cheering up Lexia all by himself would be very hard so he was grateful they were here and instantly understood the situation.
"What's the matter Lexia?"
Sitting down next to Lexia that was the first thing Xelfia said.
