Hiring

Wiping the drops of sweat off his cheek Xilo finished his training as he took in the smell of the lake. From the small updates Tearia had given him, everyone seemed to be healing up well. "Looks like Levia has something she wants us to do." They had been discussing things backing and forth, planning the best course of action. If they wanted to stop the Landel then they would have to start from this City before going to the front lines. Levia had already begun to go around to every Clan in the City to get them to join her. A few had already joined while others denied or stayed neutral in their response.

"Of course, they don't want to pick a side between anyone. It's a bit disheartening but oh well. That's just how people are."

If they didn't have anything to gain from picking a side, why would they join? Levia had tried to offer them a bit of money or power yet that didn't help as well. "Some saying yes is better than none." Once they had gotten through all that then they would have a small army of their own. They still needed more people to join them if they wanted to take on two large kingdoms at once. "Some mercenaries for hire wouldn't be a bad idea." Tossing the towel aside that he used, That was Xilo's plan for today. While Levia worked on the people in the City, Xilo would go around hiring any mercenary he could to work for them.

"They work based on money not loyalty."

Which was a good and bad thing.

"Tearia will take care of everyone and Felli is doing some more studying. So it should just be me and Xelfia."

While he was thinking about that a set of footsteps approached him from behind. Turning around stood a beautiful red head trying to sneak up on him. Grabbing her by the waist Xilo stopped her in her tracks while she giggled. "Speaking of Xelfia." It looks like Xelfia was all set and ready to go now. Levia had already given them a map that gave a few places where they could find work for hire. "Let's hope they all play nice." Mercenaries were a rough bunch to get along with so hopefully there wouldn't be any trouble. He really didn't want to have to make some kind of scene out of it, lest he attract Landel's unwanted attention.

"You finished a bit early, Xelfia. All good to go?"

"Yup, yup. Let's get this over and done with. I want to be back before nightfall so I can check on Tearia. She's been working herself way too hard again and needs someone to keep her in check."

"Sounds like Tearia alright, she really doesn't learn. I'll also talk to her when we're back. For now let's just get as many people. Once Katrin's forces arrive we should have quite a large army on our hands."

"Will that be enough though?"

"Nope. The plan is to focus on Landel first though. If we can get him out of the picture we can take over his army and then potentially stop the war."

"Sounds too hopeful of a plan to me."

"What else are we to do then?"

"I know, I know. I just wanted to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Without Katrin's extra help this would be impossible, so at least give her a thanks when we get back. She's putting herself and her own Country in a lot of danger to do this."

"I will, she's annoying but a good help."

Grabbing Xelfia's hand Xilo headed towards the City with Xelfia's words in mind. If they wanted to get everywhere today and be back by nightfall they would have to be quick. Heading straight for the nearest location that Levia gave them, Xilo counted how much money he had brought along. "Bleh, probably not enough." Entering the streets he ignored how empty it felt today as he made his way to a nearby bar. Apparently a lot of mercenaries hung out around here so it should be easy to find one or two to join. At this hour hopefully they weren't too far gone and drunk out of their mind just yet.

"Oh, there it is. Lennie's Bar."

Seeing a large sign up ahead, Xilo picked up his pace as he arrived in front of it. Opening up the door Xilo felt the weight stop a few times as he gave it a shove. Bursting in, he almost tripped however Xelfia caught him. "Whoa." Looking around the place it was severely empty except for a few people here and there. "The whole atmosphere of the City has changed." Just a couple of days everywhere was busy with people filling every inch. Now everyone was hiding in their homes trying to make themselves unknown or planning for war. Clearing his throat, Xilo didn't want to bother asking them individually so he spoke to them all at once.

"Is anyone here a mercenary, if so there's a job I have for you if you would accept. I don't care how many of you do or don't, you will be paid well though."

Waiting a moment after that awkward outburst Xilo saw a few hands fly into the air and ease some of his worries.

"Good, didn't look like a total idiot."

Xelfia snickered from the side as she heard Xilo's whisper.

"No, you did Xilo."

"Oh..."

Brushing aside the pain from Xelfia's laughter Xilo pointed at the people who had raised their hands.

"If you would like to work with me, come here and we can explain a bit of the details and the pay. Otherwise just go back to what you were doing and ignore me. The choice is up to you."

Out of the five or so people who raised their hands only two came towards Xilo to at the very least hear about his offer, the rest stayed behind and just listened in.
