Levia met back up with everyone as she told them where they would be staying for the next few weeks or longer if they were unlucky. She also made sure to catch everyone up on the situation as well. "They don't care." These people would do anything for money so as long as they got paid they were happy. "Bunch of idiots." They were strong at least and that was why Levia kept them around even if she didn't agree with their ways. She didn't really have room to be picky otherwise. Hearing about the details of the job Levia went to the place Tano had written down for her.
"We should be there shortly."
Yanyan was right beside her as always although she was a lot more quiet since they had returned from talking to Tano. "Did I hurt her feelings?" Scratching her head, she didn't really know what was up without Yanyan saying anything herself. "Is this how Tano felt?" She never said a word to him when she left him that day. She had just suddenly disappeared in a storm of rage and never came back. "No, he had it much worse." Yanyan hadn't run away from her just yet at least, so there was that. Levia had never regretted what she had done that day; however she did acknowledge how poorly she had handled it all.
"I was a bit too young and stupid for my own good."
She was also obsessed with fighting at the time just like the others in her group. She had quickly grown out of that though once she was scammed and forced to pay off a massive debt. For the first time after leaving Tano everything was fine, she was taking care of herself and getting to do what she enjoyed. It wasn't until the second year that someone sent her a message about a big contract. At the time they were working small little one off jobs that helped them get by day to day. So when she was met with so much money for a job she was ecstatic and hadn't cared for anything else.
"They wanted us to go to Dracal and kill off one of the big Family's daughters and son. Destroy their line of succession completely in order to put them off the map. They of course didn't say that upfront, they handed over a large sum of money and asked them to kill three people."
Blinded by greed Levia reached out and took it before her mind could catch up with her body. Levia left with the money without a care and she went to Dracal to find the targets. "I thought we were living the easy life." Even with the up front money alone they were set for a very long time. After giving a portion to her group though Levia only had one goal in mind with the money she had. She wanted to fix her terribly scared face and body. For years on end it had been a constant thing she tried to hide and a constant reminder of so much pain. So she wanted to find someone who could actually heal her body and make her normal again.
Rubbing the side of her face Levia could feel her burnt fused skin crack with each stroke.
"Eventually I found someone that said they would be willing to heal me....for an extreme amount of money. Said I would need tens of millions to do it....still not even halfway to my goal but I will do it."
She had searched everywhere she thought possible in order to find some kind of fix. Hundreds of doctors said they couldn't do it and there was no way to reverse the damage to her face. Thousands of others also told her there was no treasure out there that could do it as well. The old woman she had found was the only one that gave her that small bit of hope. Now every single job she did she would constantly send money to her in hopes that she would reach her goal one day. She didn't care how long it took as long as she made it. Levia was sceptical about it at first however the woman had managed to heal a very small part of her face as proof.
Once that had happened there was no more holding back for Levia.
"That job was a massive failure. Wanting a bunch of nobodies to kill Heirs to Dracal's family? What a joke."
They couldn't even get close to them and had only ended up being hunted by them instead. So now Levia was on the run from their family while also trying to get as much money as possible. If Tano really thought she could keep a child with her with those two things combined then he was insane. "When I'm healed....I'll go and see my family again." Until then nothing would stop her, not even the words of Tano who had raised her for years. She couldn't tell him that though, he would only get angry and upset with her or even try to get her to stop. "I can't." Looking down at the small burnt skin that came off Levia knew she couldn't stop now.
"I'll keep trying until the end."
Yanyan was thinking about everything she had heard today as she heard Levia's light whisper.
"What did you say Levia?"
"Oh, nothing Yanyan. I was just counting out how much profit we earned from this trip. You have been quite quiet since we've gotten back though, whats on your mind?"
Putting her fingers together Yanyan didn't quite know how to explain it.
"Just thinking about what Tano and you said today....Is it really not okay to stay with you?"
Levia felt her heart tug inside of her chest as she looked at Yanyan.
"No, you can't stay with me Yanyan. It's far too dangerous for you to be here with me."
