Stuck

"Well, think on it for a bit then Yanyan. I'm sure Levia isn't going anywhere just yet so you've got some time to do so. Is that alright with both of you, Levia, Yanyan?"

Yanyan was still a bit lost yet she nodded her head. On the other hand Levia wasn't happy that Tano didn't just agree without a question. She had other things to be doing and couldn't just bring a child along and he knew that. "Though, why is he here?" That was something she had been curious about the whole time. He had been retired for so long and to just suddenly come back was strange. Especially when he had made it pretty clear to her long ago that he didn't want to fight anymore. Yanyan looked up at Levia as she spun around her thoughts forcing Levia to give up once she saw those eyes.

"Ugh fine. We'll go back and talk about it tonight if that makes you both happy. You know that I can't take care of a child though, especially with my current job."

"I'm in the same boat there and this isn't just something I can drop for the hell of it. Too many things are going on here for me to drop it all for a lost child that you're trying to hand off to me."

Tano had come here on an old friend's request and he wanted to see it through.

"Why are you even here? You retired ages ago, shouldn't you be living a peaceful life now?"

"I wish, An old friend stopped by recently and started to pester me about this. I couldn't turn them down so I was forced to come here and help them out."

"You have friends?"

"My heart, take it easy girl. He's an old buddy from my younger mercenary days. He saved my life so I owe him quite a bit. He's never asked me for anything before a month ago so it's pretty important. Right now though he's probably in the main City dealing with the King and his antiqs"

"Eh, is the war here really that big of a deal? I thought it was just another scuffle between them. It's been like that for years on end without ever changing."

"If it was something as simple as that life would be easy but it's not. Their little scuffles have evolved far beyond just that and soon it'll be entire armies fighting. I have no idea why or how it came to be, I just know that everyonehas eyes on these two countries at the moment. It's a giant pain in it's own right but this is how it is. I've brought some of my best men and women to fight again so Hopefully we actually can make a difference."

Levia was initially under the impression that this was just another petty fight that was happening again. "A full fledged war?" That would explain Tano coming out of retirement at least. It would also put her in a lot more danger than she had imagined. Remembering another piece of information she heard she figured Tano might be able to prove if it's true or not. Asking him quickly, he nodded his head without blinking. "Dammit." It turns out the borders we're truly being blocked out for anyone who tries to leave. "Can't just run away then." Biting her nail, it looks like she was taking on more than she could handle.

"No wonder it was such a large sum of money, I thought something was up, I just didn't think it would be on this kind of scale. That bastard tricked me."

Slamming her fist on the table, Tano watched her.

"What'd I tell you about double checking jobs before accepting Levia? Meh, no matter. If you want you can come stay with me, we should have some extra rooms for you and everyone else you bring. It'll also give us some more time to catch up, that isn't just drinking at a bar and disturbing the people around us. What do you say?"

"You're lucky, all the other places we tried were booked full. I'll take you up on your offer however, we're doing our own thing and you better take Yanyan when this is all over."

"That's up to the girl, not you. Come now, let's get out of here. It's getting a bit late and I'm sure you still have things to do as well."

"Right.."

Tano took out a piece of paper and scribbled an address on it before handing it to Levia.

"Here, come to this address when you're all ready. That is where we'll be staying and you can of course come to me if you need anything. Until then I'm off to search around this City, I'll see you then."

Just like that Tano walked away without another word leaving Levia to pay for all of his drinks. "I swear..." A large man stood behind the counter tapping on the wood. Spinning around Levia ignored the throbbing on her head as she smiled and dropped a few stones onto the counter. "As cheap as ever." Taking Yanyan by the hand, Levia walked out of the bar before any other misfortunes could happen to them. "He doesn't know about my debt though." Taking a deep breath she walked back to where they had left everyone. She had to inform the others and get more details on their mission before they could go anywhere else.

"A war eh, just what I needed...."

Since Levia couldn't leave, her only choice was to stay and in a time like this it was a perfect opportunity to make lots of money.

"If everything goes smoothly, their's a good chance I can pay off my debt and be done it with it forever."

Then she could finally be free of that burden and move on.

"Come on Yanyan, we got some talking to do together and a few other things as well.
