Sign of a wing

The test after what seemed like forever ended.It took a while before the cultivators broke out of their shock from Lee's performance.

They had showered him with a lot of praise that made Lee's head spin to the displeasure of the crowd.

But Lee didn't seem concerned about all of this he had searched all around for his father but didn't see the man it felt as though he just disappeared.

At the back of the third cultivator where he stood he received a lot of gazes some of admiration with most of envy and hate.

Especially from a lad named Shad he stared at him soo much that Lee was beginning to feel the lad's eyes would pluck out.

Shad was extremely angry because Lee had completely outshined him he was meant to be the star of the day because he was able to attract five fishes but with Lee's feat he was crushed.

What was more annoying was that he just surpassed him with only two fishes and the cultivators were praising him endlessly while he only received a grin of admiration.

They were precisely fifty of them who passed the test and was standing with the cultivators on the other side of the gate.

The other children who failed couldn't help but stare at them with jealousy,everyone would feel that way.The lives of those who passed the test would now far surpass theirs with a long gap.

"Our job here is done,and luckily for us this year we picked up a rare gem. For those who didn't pass it isn't the end of the world you are not just fated to become a cultivator!"said the fifth cultivator with a wide grin which the crowd could swear they had never seen on his face.

Lee was amazed on hearing the fifth cultivator refer to him as a gem,he hadn't been paying attention when the man and his crew were pouring him with praises he had been focused on finding his father.

He never knew attracting seven fishes was really big that the cultivators would continue to praise him like as though he just destroyed a mountain with an ordinary gaze.

"So with this we shall take our leave"

On hearing this,Lee sighed"I wonder where father is,he should have waited for me to say goodbye!"

At the point were he was about to lose all hope he suddenly saw a figure who he had been waiting for appear among the crowd who have merged together.

"Father!!" Lee almost screamed out on sighting his father.

The man appeared to have also sighted him as he smiled and shaped his two hands in the form of a wing.

On seeing this Lee smiled, his heart which had being restlessly pounding calmed down.

The sign his father made to him was a secret code between him and his father.

Meaning expand your wings and cover the world in your shadow.

After this his father made a final wave with sadness in his eyes before he merged with the crowd.

Lee had a bitter smile on his face he knew well enough that it would take his father a long time before he got over his absence.

"I'm back" said a young thin boy who was a head shorter than Lee,the lad appeared to be very energetic in nature with his sparkling burnt orange eyes which gave him a mysterious appearance.

"You've succeeded?!"asked Lee.

" Yap!" said the lad as he raised his two arms up.

"Seriously?!"The agile boy named Ryan a very close friend of his who Lee really liked had also passed the test with four fishes.

Ryan had claimed that he would make friends with all fifty of them so as strengthen his friendship so they could be close as they would probably spend the nearest future together.

"Unfortunately there is one of them who I didn't approach" said Ryan as he stealthily pointed towards the angry looking Shad.

Lee burst out in laughter,as he had expected.

"The lad eyes are scary" Ryan protested like a kid who had been laughed at for getting scared at the sight of a shadow in the dark.

Lee could only shake his head,the humor of Ryan was one of the things he liked about the lad.

The crowd slowly disappeared,it was after this that the cultivators finally turned their attention towards the lucky fifty.

"Lucky kids,your future from now would be very bright than you expect especially you lad!!"said the fifth cultivator as he grinned towards Lee.

Shad and the other jealous lads felt as though their heads were about to explode.

You guys are praising him again!!....this isn't fair!!

The jealousy in their faces weren't hidden in the slightest which surprisingly the fifth cultivator liked as he laughed heartily.He even further intensified it by winking at Lee.

This made them almost explode in rage.Lee appeared to be unmoved on the outside by the happenings.

But on the inside he was cursing the cultivator,the cultivator knew that every of his actions towards him spiked hate among the rest and he intentional continued to do just that!...was he trying to turn everybody against him?!

He suddenly felt a push on his arms,when he turned his attention.Ryan was busy using his shoulder to hit his arms with a sheepish smile on his face seeming to make fun of the whole situation.

Lee felt like slapping the lad a thousand time..is this guy alright at all?!

"First!"

"Second!"

"Third!"

"Fourth.....Eight!"

"Activate!!" the mischievous demeanour around the fifth cultivator in an instant dissspered and transformed into the usual demeanour of a leader and cultivator.

On this command each pillar that made up the gate began to glow with the respective cultivators on each pillar making a seal and before one could blink an eye the whole of them including the children were enshrouded in a bright ray of light.

And just like that they all disappeared into thin air with no trace of them.Who knows when those young faces would appear once again on this same realm?!
