A Hero And A Villain?

Time continued to flow on with my daily routine changing very little.

I woke up in the morning and did some light exercise, before going to preschool where I practiced my Fuinjutsu, and finally went home and gathered more Chakra before attempting the Leaf Exercise again.

This cycle continued on for over two years without much change except for what grade of school I was going to.

In those two years I improved by leaps and bounds. My Chakra was now the size of a basketball and I was adding grapes worth of size every day instead of a drop.

And in regards to the Leaf Exercise I could last over twenty minutes before getting tired, it was a huge improvement.

Though the thing I had the most improvement in was my Fuinjutsu. I could already make over three kinds of seals even if they weren't very good.

The first was a Storage Seal I could deal any inanimate object smaller than my hand inside of it. It wasn't that much space and it could only hold one item even if it was way smaller than the space but, I was making progress.

The second type of seal I could make was the Flash Tag the lesser cousin of the Explosive Tag. Instead of making an explosion it creates an intense blast of light. When I activated it, it felt like someone was shining a flashlight right in my face. It wasn't destructive but, I could definitely see how it might come in handy in the future.

The final type of seal I created I named the Muffling Seal. It was technically called the Silencing Seal but, mine wasn't good enough to completely block off all sound from leaving a room and could only muffle it hence the name.

They weren't much but, I was improving every day and was never unsatisfied with my progress.

Other than that the Mission tab finally started updating itself regularly. They were most simple things like do 100 push ups or create a dozen seals and were clearly just there to encourage me to practice more and didn't give many Points.

Now that I had consistent way to make Points I wanted to spend the 1,000 Points I earned 2 years ago. I never spent them before because I already had my hands full learning Fuinjutsu and didn't need another thing dividing my attention.

I wasn't sure what I was going to buy yet because there weren't many useful techniques that cost less that a thousand.

While I was lost in my thoughts sitting in front of the TV a breaking news report suddenly came up.

"I'm here at the scene in front of the Tokyo National Museum where 10th ranking hero Gang Orca is fighting against the villain known as The Phantom Thief has just stolen dozens of priceless gems.

This is the Phantom Thief's 3rd appearance. He is known for always leaving a calling card in advance letting people know exactly when he's planning a heist."

I looked up because this seemed slightly different than the usual Villain attack.

"And even though Phantom Thief always returns what he's stolen and is clearly only a thrill seeker he is still a Villain and endangering lives."

The screen cut away from the reporter an to the ongoing fight.

Gang Orca was using his superior size and suprising speed to put pressure on Phantom Thief. But, whenever it seemed like he was going to he caught he activated his Quirk.

Phantom Thief's Quirk was interesting to say the least and was clearly the main reason he hasn't been caught yet.

He could enter some kind of special state where he became transparent and everything passes right through him. And not just that it also seemed to increase his speed by a huge amount.

Though it seemed like he couldn't stay in that state for long and could only activate it every couple seconds, it was still more than enough for him to easily evade Gang Orca.

I was confused though with that Quirk the Phantom Thief could easily escape at any moment so why was he fighting?

And that's when I saw his face.

Phantom Thief was wearing a nice black tuxedo with a top hat and a phantom of the opera style mask, and was gracefully ducking between Gang Orca's blows. It looked like he was in a dangerous situation and a single misstep could make him lose everything.

By all rights Phantom Thief should be freaking out but, when I saw his face all I could see was a massive grin that was saying that be couldn't be enjoying this more.

I felt a strange sensation in my chest when I saw his face and couldn't help but, think how much fun he must be having. Something that really struck a cord with me considering how boring my last couple of years have been.

"Do Not Worry For I Am Here!"

A booming voice rang out that I and everyone watching recognized instantly. All Might shi was already considered the symbol of peace crashed into the scene. Blocking Phantom Thief who was dodging away from Gang Orca forcing him to use his Quirk.

He phased right through All Might and began to run knowing he was outmatched now. But, All Might was having none of that and fast than the blink of an eye appeared right in front of Phantom Thief just as his Quirk was ending.

He crashed into All Might and shakily look up at his face that always had a perpetual grin on it.

Phantom Thief raised his hands in surrender knowing he was completely screwed since he couldn't use his Quirk for at least three more seconds.

All Might grabbed him by the back of his collar to stop him from moving until the police showed up.

Phantom Thief only tried to escape once more bumping into All Might again before surrendering for real.

The police arrived and gave Phantom Their a shot of anesthetic to knock him out until they could get him to a proper holding cell.

"All Might! All Might" the flock of reporters swarmed him! "How were you always able to appear in front of Phantom Thief just as his Quirk ended" was the first question asked?

"Simple" he laughed " Phantom Thief's Quirk might make it seem he's impossible to catch at first glance. But, if you look carefully it has some glaring weakness. First he can only be in that state for two seconds maximum meaning he can't get too far. And Second and more importantly he can only move in a straight line while he's like that."

"What do you mean All Might" one of the reporters asked "he was weaving all around during the fight?"

"That just goes to show how well he trained his Quirk! While it may seem like he was weaving around he was actually activating his Quirk just after and right before he changed directions masking this weakness. That is actually the reason I arrived so late, we heroes had already suspected this weakness after reviewing footage of him. I hung back while Gang Orca distracted him so that I could observe Phantom Thief more closely. I only intervened when I confirmed that was truly the case."

"So you're saying he kept running into you because you were able use those two facts to predict where his Quirk would end?"

"Exactly! That's also the reason he surrendered so easily, he knew I figured out his weakness and that he had no chance."

I sighed thinking about how incredible you must be to be able to notice small details like that. They were all moving so fast during the fight that my eyes couldn't even keep up.

All Might really was awesome!

I leaned back and threw a pillow over my face. Why couldn't I get Phantom Thief's grinning face out of my head. I was planning on being a hero and going to UA because with my abilities I could easily become one of the best heroes.

But, no matter how hard I tried I could stop thinking about how fun it would be to be a Villain like that. Not truly good or evil, just going around annoying the heroes and having fun.

Suffice to say I was feeling extremely conflicted right now.

"Ding!"

I heard the familiar sound of my system popping up.

A Mandatory Mission Has Been Created!

Mission: Why Not Both?

Description: You are feeling conflicted about whether to become a Hero or a Villain. So the system has taken the liberty of making the choice for you. You genuinely want to become both so why not just do that? Become a Hero and a Villain at the same time!

Requirements: Join UA's Hero Course/Make your debut as Villain

Time limit: 10 Years

Failure Penalty: Lose the System and all System based abilities

Reward: 25,000 Points, Random Technique Scroll

Deadpanning I stared at the mission, this seemed like it was going to be a pain in the ass. And worst of all I didn't even get a choice in it.

I smirked, whatever it wasn't like I didn't like a challenge. And besides it did seem like it would be a lot of fun to be a Villain.

But, if I was going to do this I would have to plan carefully. After thinking about it a bit there did seem to be a way I could pull this off.

It would normally be impossible for someone to go to UA and be a Villain at the same time. Not just because UA does extensive background checks on people. But, also because most people only have a single unique Quirk that is easily recognizable. Making it child's play to link the Villain to the student at UA.

But, I didn't have that limitation! Chakra had unlimited uses! Not to mention things like the Transformation Technique and the Shadow Clone Jutse would make it nearly impossible to identify me.

The more I thought about it the fun'er(funner, funer, funn'er?) it seemed. Hopping of the couch I went to find my mom. If I was going to do this I needed to start taking my training to the next level.

"Mom" I said to her as she was making us lunch.

"Yes, sweetie" she responded.

"I want to be a Hero."

She stopped cooking and looked down at me seeing the serious look in my eye.

"We'll talk with your father once he gets back from work."

I nodded and took my PB&J sandwich before smiling at her and going back to the TV.

Later that night both of my parents were sitting across from me at the dinner table.

"So you want to be a Hero" he crossed his fingers?

"Yes."

"I won't question your choice too much since you've never been the type to make impulsive decisions. But, I need know what made you come to this decision? Is it because you want to help people?"

I shook my head "I do really want to help people but, that's not my main reason."

"Then what is? Being a Hero isn't a game you know both me and your mother have both nearly died on several occasions and have the scars to prove it."

"That's exactly the reason! Every day I see all those scary Villains on TV taking hostages, destroying buildings, and doing all kinds of other stuff to hurt people" I clenched my hand thinking about the man who shot me!

"I don't understand" my father frowned while looking at my white knuckles?

"I never want to be one of those people on TV who have to be saved by the Heroes! I want to be able to protect myself and the people I care about, and being a Hero is the only way to do that!

I could see a scary smile form on my father's face. "Excellent" he slammed his fist on the table.

"Oh, my baby" my mom jump over the table to hug me!

"We'll begin your training tomorrow" my father grinned "just know I won't go easy on you. I know how dangerous being a Hero can be so I'm going to make sure you can handle whatever goes your way."

"I understand."

"Oh, I very much doubt that" he chuckled "but, don't worry I won't allow you to quit after what you've just told us."

I gulped feeling like I just made a very big mistake.
