Hostage Battles

There were twenty students in the class so each team had ten members.

The Villain team chose an average looking office building as their base. I was taken to the lowest level of the basement and locked in a room.

I was a bit surprised that they only left two people to guard the door while the rest of the team went out to battle the Heroes. I guess their plan was to use gorilla tactics to stall for as much time as possible since my dad put a two hour time limit on the match.

He gave them so much time because the area we were in was pretty big and they would need that time to find us.

Sighing I undid the ropes on my body since it was getting uncomfortable. That kid with the rope Quirk really needed to learn how to tie proper knots.

I was tempted to secretly send a clone out to secretly watch the fighting but, gave up the idea. I knew UA had cameras everywhere and that I was probably being watched right now. I was confident in my skills to go undetected but, it seemed like a bad idea to underestimate Nezu.

So I just sat down and played games on my phone.

Rumi was on the Villain team this round and ad the future 5th ranked Hero I expected her team to win this match.

And unfortunately for me that's exactly what happened. In the entire two hours nothing interesting happened, I felt the building shake a couple times so I assumed stuff was happening but, it never reached me.

"Two hours have passed and the hostage is still in Villain hands! The Villains win" my father shouted over the speakers!

After that some of the students came to get me and were surprised that I had untied myself. And I didn't bother explaining how I did it because I was still upset about being tied up in the first place. If I was less skilled I would have had to spend that entire two hours like that by myself in a dark room.

We met back up with my dad and he went over the footage that was taken of them explaining what they did right what they could do better.

After a quick lunch break and some time to rest and heal the teams switchswitched.

Now Rumi was on the opposing team and I figured people would at least get to me this time and make things interesting.

This time the team I was on chose a 10 story tall skyscraper to be their base and had me on the top floor, and to my joy didn't try and tie me up.

I decided that I would try to help them win if I could.

Rumi was having a pretty good day she got meet one of her idols who had an animal Quirk just like her and his son who also seemed like a fun person. Not to mention that her team easily won in the first round, she always loved winning.Though she didn't like that she had two work as a team.

To her if you couldn't do something by yourself then you were weak, and that was something she absolutely refused to be.

In the first round she went off on her own and constantly harassed the other team with her speed. None of them came even close to her in that aspect and she ran circles around them.

Now in the second round she still wasn't planning on working with the team. Though she had to be a bit more careful about it this time since she couldn't use hit and run tactics this time.

Sniffing she followed the boys smell.

It wasn't something she advertised about herself and people didn't think of it because rabbits weren't known for it but, she had an amazing sense of smell.

The kids sent was easy to pick out since he smelled strongly of cat. She stealthily followed the trail to a high rise building.

"Clever" she whispered because from up there they would easily be able to see anyone climbing up. She let out a mad grin but, that wasn't going to stop her!

It was a new move she had recently thought of and she wasn't a hundred percent sure it would work but, what better time to try it out than now.

The other team clearly had her in mind when they picked the building. It was just a little under twice as high as her max jump height which was currently around 50 feet. And all of the surrounding buildings were only one or two stories tall so they wouldn't work as a jumping platform. Not to mention they were probably watching the closer buildings.

She walked up to a cement wall next to her and kicked it shattering it to pieces. Sifting through the rubble she found a piece that was a good size and shape and roughly a quarter her weight. Which was what the people in the support department said was what she needed for the stunt she was about to pull.

Moving across the street from the tower she found a small building that didn't seem as likely to be watched.

After a couple preparatory stretches she lifted the rock above her head and started running. And as she reached the edge of the roof she jumped!

With the rock above her head she couldn't jump nearly as high as she normally could but, she still managed a good 40 feet even with the weight.

As she neared the top of her jump she brought the rock to the bottom of her feet and jumped again! She use the rock as a stepping stool to do a real life double jump!

She made it look easy but, it was actually extremely difficult to pull off. Aside from the obvious strength, speed, and reaction time required to do this the rock itself was also extremely important. Too big and her first jump would be weighed down and if it was too light it wouldn't make a good stepping stool.

She had executed everything perfectly, and the rock she chose was the exact right size and weight. Letting her get her maximum jump off and going up another 50 feet.

It had been over half an hour now and I had to say I was a bit disappointed in Miruko. I had thought that she would have been here by now, and was about to let out a sigh the sound of shattering glass grabbed my attention.

"What happened" one of the students watching me asked?

"I don't know it sounded like a window breaking just below us" another one answered .

"Is it Rumi" the first asked?

"Impossible! Not even she can jump that high!"

"Well I beg to differ" a grinning Rumi appeared scarring the shit out the two students.

"We're screwed! Everyone else is guarding the lower floors! And our closest reinforcements are floors down!"

"Yeah, you're definitely screwed" Rumi laughed knowing the two students she faced had Quirks more suited to rescue and other Hero work rather than combat.

"Don't give up yet" the second student said "we don't need to beat her we just need to hold her off until reinforcements arri-"

Rumi didn't let him finish his sentence as she slammed into his stomach.

"Sorry" she smirked "I needed to take you out first because your Nausea Quirk is a pain. That's not to say I still couldn't beat you, I just don't like feeling sick."

The first student scowled at her.

"And you're Mark Quirk is pretty good too, being able to sense the approximate location of anyone you've made eye contact with definitely useful especially when chasing criminals. Too bad for you that I put in extra effort all day to avoid letting you see my eyes."

The student clenched his fists and charged her.

I could see that he didn't have bad form and definitely put a lot of work into getting stronger but, Rumi was far faster and easily disabled him with a second gut punch.

She then took out her capture tape and officially got the out since the school didn't want students fighting till they drop.

"Easy peasy" she dusted her hands off "allright come on kitty ca-"

I launched a kick at her that she barely managed to block in time.

"What the hell" she cursed! "Hostages don't attack the people trying to save them!"

I shrugged "maybe I'm being mind controlled or maybe there was never a hostage at all and I'm a Villain too."

"That's bullshit! Now settle down and come with me before I pound you face in!"

"Make me" I smirked.

Rumi growled and charged me throwing her own kick.

It wasn't as fast as my dad's but, still far too quick to dodge with my childs body. I put crossed my arms to block while jumping backwards to reduce the damage.

I slammed into the the wall behind me busting through the drywall and flipping over to land on my feet. My arms stung even with me jump back to reduce the strength of her attack it still hurt like a bitch.

I knew I was completely outmatched and was never going to win in a straight up fight.

So, I didn't fight. As soon I landed I took of running down the hall as fast as I could.

Rumi bounded after me but, there were lots of corners in this building, and she could go full speed or else she'd crash through the drywall like I did when changing direction.

So I managed to keep a narrow lead on her owing to my smaller size.

My goal right now was to get to the lower floors and find someone who could distract her so I could catch her in my Shadow Imitation.

My heart was racing and my mind was going a million miles an hour. I couldn't help a stupid grin from forming on my face while thinking that running from Heroes really was as fun as I thought it'd be.

I was going to make for the stairs before I remembered that stairwells were normally made of cement so that they don't burn during a fire. If I went in there Rumi would be able to use her full strength to bounce off the walls and catch me.

I started laughing hysterically, in that case! I started running full speed towards a window!

"Hey kid stop" Rumi yelled!

But, I continued crashing through the window pain. I turned around in mid air just in time to see her horrified face and stick my tongue out at her.

I obviously did jump without a plan. I lifted up my shirt to unravel the rope from earlier that I secretly kept, on its end was a piece of two by four that I swiped when I was kicked through the wall.

While falling from the building I quickly fashioned them into a makeshift grappling hook.

Just below me I could see the original window that Rumi broke through. When I first heard the glass break I listened carefully to determine the exact direction it came from and I wasn't wrong.

Throwing my grapple I hooked it around the frame of the window I just broke and swung into the floor below me. I rolled to my feet and started running again still laughing my ass off.

I could hear Rumi's rage filled scream as she realized what happened.

I didn't know if she was going to follow behind me through the window or try and cut me off at the stairs. After a few seconds I didn't hear anything behind me so I assumed it was the latter.

So instead of going to the stairs I ran back to the window and climbed back up knowing she definitely wouldn't predict me to backtrack like this.

As I pulled myself back up onto the ledge I froze seeing Rumi standing right before me with a terrifying expression on her face.

"How" was all I could get out?

"Your insane laughing wasn't exactly quiet" she pointed to her ears.

I facepalmed knowing I got too caught up in the moment and forgot her powers. Putting my hands up I said "I surrender."

"You damn well better" she hissed!

Forcing me to the ground with her superior strength so I wouldn't escape she grabbed the rope from my grappling hook and tied me up again.

"Ugh, I wasted so much time chasing you there's probably enemies on their way here by now."

"Yeah, that was the plan."

"No talking" she punched my head leaving a small bump!

She carried me over her shoulder down the stairs but, cursed when she saw someone coming up after us. And from her expression it must have been some decently powerful.

"I'm not letting you get away Rumi" he screamed!

Suddenly small rockets sprouted from his feet blasting him up four floors.

"He's probably why they chose an underground base in the first round" I thought.

Rumi ducked back out of the stairwell with the boy not far behind. She ducked and dodged as best she could while carrying me but, the boy could sprout rockets from any part of his body, letting him change direction and accelerate better that Rumi in an office like this.

The boy launched a terrifying rocket kick that Rumi blocked with her own but, because she was carrying me his was stronger.

I saw my chance and activated my Shadow Imitation to lock her in place after she crashed through the wall.

"W-what the hell's happening" she stuttered!?

"I never said being a cat person was my only Quirk" I grinned.

"Bastard!"

"Quick tire her up" I screamed at the boy "she's really strong and I don't know how long I can hold her!"

"With please" he licked his lips.

"Oh, hell no" I saw the fear on Rumi's face.

He approached with his capture tape clearly eyeing her breasts.

I released my jutsu and Rumi instantly noticed and flew up punching the boy in the face.

"Ahh, what the fuck" he screamed blood streaming from his nose while glaring at me?

"I'm not going to help you molest her you creep" I flipped him off.

Seeing that Rumi smiled and laughed.

"Tch" he scoffed "It doesn't matter I still have the advantage in this building and I could have backup at any moment."

"Really" I rubbed my chin "because I'm pretty I can hear some fights going on down below" I pointed to my cat ears "she's not the only one with good hearing."

The boys face went dark upset that I ruined his bluff "whatever I'm still going to win" he moved to attack again!

"What why can't I move!"

I pointed down at my shadow and the thin line connecting it to his "You really should pay more attention."

This time Rumi was nearly dying from laughter as she rushed up and kneed him in the gut. Knocking him out in a single powerful blow.
