Death-defying Flight

Waaaahh!!!!" My scream echoed through the cave, I haven't died ever since I started the game, even if I loved to slaughter monsters, I knew my limitations and when I encounter a strong monster, I wouldn't hesitate to back out.

I could see a light down the pit. Below there was solid ground and if I don't think of a plan, I might die.

If I were to die, I'd rather be killed by an honorable death rather than die from fall damage that I couldn't even fight back against.

I rolled my brain to think of an idea.

'Scroll, potion, items, skills, skills!' I finally remembered something from my newly acquired skills.

"I don't think that this will work but let's try!" I said to myself, the hole I fell on was actually a part from another cave's ceiling.

Hooot! Hooot!

I simultaneously pressed the button on the sword from left to right and the cables struck on ceiling's wall.

Fwhooot!

It was an acute angle and a window panel appeared from my right side,

SPEED OF FLIGHT: 1.7

I flew towards the ceiling.

I tried to press the buttons at the same time to try and recall back the cable to stop me from hitting the wall and slowly decreasing my momentum to reduce fall damage but it didn't work. I was only greeted by window alerts.

MAXIMUM CABLES!

MAXIMUM CABLES!

'What now? Think Kris! Think!'

I used my head to think that the cables went back like using psychokinetic powers seen in movies where the MC is abke to control objects only by using his mind.

But then a miracle happened.

Hooot! Hooot!

The cables actually returned back.

"Yes!" I again aimed the cables into the lower side of the cave to avoid fall damage and manage to get the hang of it while being pulled by the cables.

I flew down the wall's lower side and safely landed on the ground.

"Phew! I haven't had this much blood rush ever since that day..."

'Shit! I remembered it again! No eyes! Please don't cry!' That day I was trying to mention was the day my sister had died.

"*sniff* sniff I'm sorry sister, I couldn't do anything." Tears swelled down in my eyelids after thinking back about that tragedy but then my tears stop after hearing wriggling crawling noises nearby.

"Who is that?" I looked around my surroundings just to find out the source of the sound but what I found was more terrifying than the sound.

"Why am I in Widowed Cave?" The walls on the cave where filled with spider webs and on the center of the ceiling, a huge cobweb could be seen sticking like glue.

The webs in the cobweb where very thick that one strains of it is the size of a man's legs.

I discovered that there where bodies of goblins, ogres, wolves, bears and even some unlucky humans fully covered in web cloth.

"I feel sorry for them." I pitied the humans and continued on observing the structure of the net until I found a gigantic figure in the middle of the cobweb.

A 10 wheelers truck-sized spider could be seen sleeping while every breath it lets out makes a very disturbing groan.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up and my body shivered in fear.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of fright at its form that even a person with a weak heart might die just seeing its scary figure.

Long blade-like arms and legs that could easily kill a level 100 soldier fully equipped with bronze armor in a stab from one of its limbs.

The sword like fangs in its mouth drooled a green acid that could melt a person's head just with a drop of it or if not, the person would receive burning injuries and poisoning, slowly killing them.

I shook my sense of fear and continued to scan the interior of the cave. I saw medium and small sizes of cobwebs also being inhabited by spiders.

My conclusion through my investigation is; there are at least a thousand of spiders living in this large cave, 3/4 of the quantity is composed with small spiders that's the size of a kid and the remaining 1/4 is human sized spiders and the giant spider that if you stacked up all the small spiders you could make another giant spider.

I was finally greeted by a window alert notifying me to the place I was currently in.

YOU HAVE ENTERED WIDOWED CAVE: BROOD MOTHER'S LAIR

- Status effects has decreases by 30%

- Poison resistance has decreased by 80%

- Movement speed will be reduced by 40% if came contact with the spider's webs.

DUE TO KARKAVOS' BLESSING

YOU HAVE RESISTED TO ALL THE DEBUFFS

"Wow!" I couldn't help but feel amazed after seeing the effect of full resistance against all type of rebuffs so I wouldn't have a hard time dealing with monsters with debuffs.

A party would need ten highly skilled level 200+ players to have a higher chance of succession or a hundred men army with at least the level of 100 to clear this dungeon but without any type of support aiding them, it would only result in a complete loss.

Out in the dark area nearby, a spider sized half an average man came crawling towards me.

BIG SPIDER

Level: 60

HP: 400/400

Nature: Territorial

Specialty: Poison Nip

A big spider that loves to prey on smaller beings and is easily threatened. It may have a small amount of health and defense but its bite is imbues with poison causing the target to experience fatigue and nausea while a poising will also be afflicted slowly depleting the target's health and will be needing an antidote to cure it.

Ding!

Big Spider

Threat level: Lion

+5% status increased!

Khyaaht!!

The spider made an eerie screech and jumped at me.

Results of my nonstop slaughtering, I could easily react to ambushes and fast attacks.

Chhik!Chiik!

I swung the swords aiming at the spider's abdomen openings wound while green sticky blood splattered to the ground.

[-188]

[-188]

A red colored number popped out above the spider's head showing the damage I had dealt to the target call Damage Indicator.

If it was the old me, I could've killed this spider with one slash from my sword effortlessly but this is the reality so I had to accept change.

Khiehik!

It made sheer scream of despair while green blood flowed from its mouth.

I quickly stab back its abdomen to ensure a quick death.

[-188]

YOU HAVE KILLED A BIG SPIDER!

[+1000 EXP]

[+1 TO ALL ATTRIBUTES]

The buff effect that freezes the experience needed for each level for a day was very beneficial for this raid. Since my level was still in the digits, the experience needed was fixated at 5000 experience so I only needed to kill 5 big spiders to reach a level whereas an average player would need to kill mobs levelled 1 or 5 for a couple of times to raise a level.

Addition to the free 1 points given to all attributes every time I kill a Big spider, it was a complete scam even I couldn't believe it.

"I have fought countless of spiders similar to you and your not the first of its kind." I pointed the edge of my sword on the now-dead spider while its corpse is slowly disappearing into silver ash.

Unfortunately though, it didn't drop any loot or even a bronze coins . Still, it was a bit natural since low-leveled mobs have low chances of dropping a loot.

***

Gwwaaaaahhhh!!!!

The huge spider had awoken from its slumber after realizing that an intruder had enter her territory and killed one of her younglings.

I was then greeted by a window alert after she had finish her cry.

[ALERT!]

YOU HAVE PROVOKED BROOD MOTHER! ITS CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ORDERED TO KILL YOU WHO IS CONSIDERED AN INTRUDER AND A MURDERER

Swarms of Big Spiders crawled towards me like a tidal wave while making screeching sounds.

Khieeek!! Khieeeek!

"Come! Let's see how strong you are!" It was absurd that Kris didn't even budge an inch or tried to retreat.

A normal player who would see this would be shitlessly scared and tries to run away to avoid this situation. But why was Kris confident?

"Heh! I wouldn't waste this for this perfect chance!" He opened his spatial inventory and pulled out a round glass bottle and inside is filled with orange glowing liquid.

It was non other than the Fire Bottle he had just bought for the purpose of this dungeon raid.

Hooot! Hooot!

With the use of the cable, I slowly flew towards the upper side of the wall.

SPEED OF FLIGHT: 0.7

While on air, I threw fire bottles over the waves of Big Spiders and every contact of the fire bottles on the ground caused an explosion killing all the spiders that steps in that area. I continuously threw fire bottles over them until the ground was swarmed with sea of flames.

The spiders shriek in despair while being engulfed in flames and on the other hand, the spiders hit by the impact of the explosion crumbled to pieces.

The human sized spiders and the Brood Mother didn't join with the fight and had spectated them on the ceiling walls.

Continuous window message appeared in my view. All of the swarm of spiders had been killed resulting in 150 levels and with the effect of 20% more add-ons on every levels, the reward of 10 status points has changes to 12 status points, meaning that I had a whopping free 1800 status points.

While the subjugation of Lion threat levelled monsters gave me free 749 points to all my attributes.

Meant all of my Attributes had at least 860 points in each

"Player Status!" I opened my status window to quickly check the improvements I had received just now.

"For now, distribute 1000 status points in strength." My goal was to have a better fire power so I needed to focus on having to raise my damage.

After I was now near the wall where my cables struck to, from above the ceiling, a human-sized spider jumped at me.

Kwaaashhak!!

GIANT CAVE SPIDER

Level: 100

HP: 1200/1200

Nature: Territorial

Specialty: Venom Bite, Piercing Limbs

A normal type of spider that is frequently found on caves but due to the Brood Mother's influence, it has mutated and grown in an abnormal size.

Has high health and attack power but has a small amount of defense and slow movement speed.

Ding!

Giant Cave Spider

Threat level: Knight

+10% status increased!

"Yes! A 10% status increase!"

I had to defend the Giant Cave Spider's strike then I'll counterattack after that.

But what I believe to have happen didn't happen.

Whhooosh!

My body moved by its own after having a near contact with the Spider. My two swords moved horizontally while my body spun wildly.

Chachaha!

[-1890]

YOU HAVE KILLED A GIANT CAVE SPIDER!

[+5000 EXP!]

YOU HAVE LEVEL UP!

[+5 ENERGY]

"..!" My eyes widened, I couldn't believe what just happened. I had spun vertically with my sword killing the Giant Spider that was threat levelled knight!

Sadly, it didn't give 2 points to all attributes because I had already reached 150. At least every Giant Cave Spider I could kill would give me a level.
