Am I Going to Heaven?

"Clarissa?!" Tears fell from Jose's eyes whilst holding the lifeless body of his younger sister.

At that instant, a hand flew straight to his head. Instinctively, He dodged by leaning to the left.

"Eh! Clarissa?"

The sadness and anger he felt became stronger as the cruel world didn't give him time to mourn for her sister. The effect of the mutant shot was so effective that it killed Clarissa in just a few seconds. And after her death, it immediately made her a mutant zombie.

He jumped backward and set a certain distance between him and the mutant Clarissa.

"Eeeeeeeeeek!" The mutant zombie made a deafening scream.

Jose tried to cover his ears but he was too late. His eardrums broke and blood came out. After the mutant zombie's scream, Jose wore a serious expression.

"Sigh."

'Because you are happy.' He remembered the last smile of Clarissa.

"Happy? Does that word even exist in this forsaken world?" Jose wiped his tears. His average muscles suddenly enlarged like a muscle of a bodybuilder. His veins were clearly seen as if it was going to pop.

"Hoooh!" He exhaled heavily. Though the mutant zombie charged towards him, He remained calm and focused.

"Why don't you guys wait for me. I don't wanna be left alone here in this cruel world." He sighed as his surroundings became slower. He can see the mutant zombie charging towards his as if it was in slow motion.

He jumped sideways to avoid the zombie's attack. Then, he squatted down to gain momentum and launch a full forced uppercut.

"Booom!"

It was a direct hit in the zombie's guts. It was sent flying out of the room, destroying even the reinforced roof. Jose didn't relaxed and jumped to land another attack.

If someone saw him jump, that person's eyes would pop out of its sockets. Imagine Jose dunking a basketball, by jumping from the other end of the court.

He appeared above the zombie's back and the punch that will send the zombie back to the ground was ready.

"Boom!"

The zombie was sent to the ground like a meteor. A hole pierced to the ten floors of the building. Seconds later, Jose landed beside the zombie. He observed the zombie and knew that it was heavily injured. It was shaking uncontrollably whilst facing the ground.

"Something is wrong..." He knows that mutant zombies were not that weak. They would at least pack some challenge and give him a hard time.

"Is the scream, her trump card? Probably... Because she was able to disable my hearing. And, I am not just a simple human. I am a Liberator, a king-rank at the top of that."

He touched his ears, trying to wipe out the blood that flowed out of it. One of the most important things for every human was their five senses. To see, to hear, to smell, to taste, and to feel. Lacking just one of these was a huge disadvantage for them. Especially when facing zombies.

Zombies have many different varieties. And each variation has a specific sense that was enhanced than its other senses. These enhanced senses were dependent on which senses were dominant for that body.

Hence, there are zombies who find humans using their smell. There were some who finds their target by sensing heat. And, the majority of the zombies, they track their targets based on sounds.

"Wait. She was a mutant. But... has no strength. Could it be!"

He flipped the zombie upside down. When it saw him, it slowly grinned.

"You d#mn zombie!"

He wasn't able to hold his anger anymore. He punched the zombie straight to its heart. A hole was made and its blood burst out.

"Forgive me, Clarissa. I can't let it live for another second. Because she is one of the most troublesome mutants. A zombie commander."

He picked the body up and carried it in his arms. He left the Asan Base as fast as he can.

"If she was a zombie commander, then! Asan Base is doomed. A wave consisting of millions of zombies are on their way! I must inform Samilo to enter the base into catastrophe mode."

He stopped for a second above a five-story building. He mailed Samilo to enter catastrophe mode because millions of zombies are coming. Although their base was a town far from Asan Base, the zombies would definitely roam around the area after invading Asan Base.

"Wraaaaaaaaaa!"

Hundreds of meters away from him, a wave of zombies could be seen. It looked like the city had a tsunami. The zombies were rushing like a mad man. They pushed, they pull, they did anything they can do just to get ahead of the others and be able to eat human flesh.

"It seems like God doesn't want us to be separated that long, younger sister." He forced out a smile while his eyes were full of anger.

"Waaang! Waaang! Waaaang! Zombie Wave Alert! Zombie Wave Alert!"

Finally, The alarm of Asan Base started. The ordinary humans started to panic as the Liberators and the army of Asan Base stood above its walls.

On top of a building, Jose covered Clarissa's body with a cloth. He took his phone and took a picture of the wave of zombies. Then, he placed the phone somewhere safe, after sending the photo to Samilo.

"I have done my part for my base. With the image, I doubt that anyone will have the guts to still go out."

There was no assurance that he would be able to escape alive in front of these zombies. After all, he was still a human, despite having an evolved body and being considered a Liberator. His body was enhanced, and its strength was doubled. It was enough to face a zombie. However, It still has its own limits. At a certain point, it will get tired. Hence, when one faces a zombie wave, one can either pray, run, or stay in a very sturdy and sealed area.

"I hope you guys could entertain me!"

The wave of zombies enveloped every building it passes through. Zombies go in and out of abandoned buildings like water.

"Boom!"

Upon contact, Jose punched a zombie into the air. His movements had attracted the attention of the other zombies. Hence, he was swarmed by them.

"One minute!"

"Two!"

"Three~Hah! Hah!"

"Fo~Hah! Haaah! Haah!"

"Fi~"

Upon reaching the five-minute mark, after he punched the first zombie, Jose's hands landed in the guts of a zombie. However, It doesn't have a force anymore. His body felt numb as his body was tackled to the floor.

The fatigue made him slowly lose his consciousness to the point that he didn't even feel the bite of the zombies.

'I'll see you soon. Mom... Dad... Clarissa!" He smiled as he completely lost consciousness.

"Was the world, always been this dark...? Eh? Why do I see light? Am I going to heaven?"

He saw a light, a size of a dot. Slowly, the dot became larger and larger until he was blinded by the light.

"Ah!" He cried.

Slowly, he started to regain his vision while hearing a familiar voice.

'Are you alright? Jose? Jose!'

He saw a silhouette of a man, staring above him and waving to his eyes.

"Am I in heaven? Perhaps you are an angel?" Jose asked.

"Angel? What the f@ck?! Don't tell me you're brain malfunctioned after hitting an electric pole?"

'Electric pole?'

"Tch! I warned you, not to play your phone while walking!" The man scolded.

Jose stared at the silhouette. He rubbed his eyes until his vision became clear.

"Arthur?" Jose was astounded. He stared deeply at the teen who was wearing a university uniform.

'What is happening? Where am I? Why is Arthur here? Why is he alive? and...'

Before he could say another word, Arthur spoke.

"Tch! Stand up! Let's go to the side first. We are blocking the walkway!"

Arthur sent a hand to help Jose stand. Jose reactively reached his hand and was pulled up by Arthur. Jose remained astounded. He can't help but remain silent and follow Arthur's lead.

'This... is Manila City! There are... people? And... no zombie? What's happening?'

Arthur silently watched Jose who was in a daze.

"I'll give you five minutes to rest. After that, we'll head to the mall. We have not much time left anymore!" Arthur shook his head as he scanned something on his phone.
