Chapter Fifty Four: I Need An Explanation

N: After Hayley's dramatic leave from the Pierre mansion, to avoid losing her forever Elijah and Klaus started doing research. It was about a week later when they finally found something...

Hayley's POV: I'm not sure if they knew but I was waiting for an explanation to why I looked identical to some lady I've never met and wasn't part of my family, her name was Clarissa if I remember correctly, from the 1860's. How was that possible, were we like twins from a different generation, or was she really one of my ancestors? I had so many questions that could only be answered by two people, Nik and Elijah! I had to go see them, but would that really gain any respect towards me?

Then I heard a knock on my door and can I really say I was surprised when it was Elijah and Nik? Oh well, I asked what they were doing here and they're answer surprised me...

Klaus's POV: Elijah and I went to Hayley's house because we found out what was happening, after days of research we finally found something possible. I could get in because I was invited in, but when Elijah tried to come in he couldn't. Hayley thought it was funny because she hadn't invited him in, then she did after awhile of laughing.

Elijah's POV: I was stuck outside for a good 15 minutes when Hayley finally decided to invite me in, I ran in there and held her against the wall by her throat so she knew I can get in at anytime, just for her safety!

Hayley's POV: Matt and Jenny we're out of the house for the night, but I was surprised when Elijah threatened me, but I wasn't scared because I knew he wouldn't hurt me, not in a million years! But they showed me all their research they had done for awhile, I guess I couldn't be too mad at them for not telling me, I mean nothing even close to that ever came up so it's my own fault. Anyway, what they showed me made me question my whole existence, apparently I was a doppelgänger! Clarissa was an original version of me. I was created to be able to die, since she couldn't. But if she couldn't die does that mean that she was a vampire too?

Klaus's POV: When we looked at our research again we were still in shock, Elijah said that he wasn't there when Clarissa died, but only that someone told him that she was! So she could defiantly be a vampire. It must've been after we left that she was turned. And Hayley was born to die. A version of Clarissa, someone who looked exactly like her, that could die since she couldn't! So somewhere out there, Clarissa was alive. Then I got to thinking, is that who I saw in the woods that night at Tanners party? Or was it just my imagination. Why would Clarissa even come back here unless she was here for Elijah, or maybe Hayley...

N: After they did all the possible extra research, Elijah, Klaus and Hayley figured out that everything they just thought possible was true! Now they'd need to protect Hayley at all costs...
