A Helping Hand

Two years ago.

Summer Bylthe saw an old woman on the side walk having a hard time picking up her things. The old woman got sprained as Blythe saw she can hardly step her left foot on the ground. She immediately park on the side of the road and run out of her car to help the old lady. She picked some fruits and random things this lady owns. She help the lady to sit on some bench on the side walk made for commuters. She put her things beside her and run back to her car. She get her old grocery bag thinking it might help. She went back to the old lady and put all of her things on the bag she got.

"Are you okay? I'm Summer. How's your foot? Do you want me to take you to a nearest clinic??"

She rarely use the name Summer for she's totally fine and got used to people calling her Blythe.

"No dear. I'm fine. It's just a simple sprain." the old lady said.

"Are you sure? Anyway what happened?" Blythe asking with concern.

"I was just got hit my some kid running by but that's fine. I'm okay." The old lady said reassuring Blythe.

"Stupid kids" Blythe murmur irritatingly. "Do you want me to drive you home? In that state I think you can hardly walk."

"Thank you for helping me Summer,Summer right?." the old lady smiled again, "No need I'll just wait for my granddaughter here. I think she's on her way. You need to go too before your car get tow."

"Oh I almost forgot about my car", Blythe stand up.

"Hey Summer. Take this. I just want to give you this for helping me and for being a good young lady." The old lady smiling.

"No need ma'am. I just wanted to help you, really."

"I know I know. Please take it. It is for good luck and a Love Charm. Accept it and wear it too please so I can remember you when I meet you again. I made it so I'm sure I'll remember it. Take good care of it okay?".

"Okay thank you for this Ma'am. I'll make sure I'll wear it always", Blythe said happily. "Take care Ma'am. Just sit there and wait for your granddaughter ok? I'm going. Bye!"

Blythe thinking the scenario as if it was yesterday. She's sitting on the side of her bed thinking how she lost her bracelet.

She love this bracelet so much because it reminds her about the old lady she helped two years ago. She doesn't have grandmother growing up for she passed away when she's five so she doesn't have a clear memory of her. Maybe it is the reason she was so fond of this kind old lady and she still hoping that maybe one day they will meet again.

"Blythe" Her mom knocking on her door.

"Yes mom?", Blythe answered.

"The dinner's ready. Lets eat."

"Okay mom. Just give me a sec."

"Okay. I'll wait you downstairs"

"Yes mom!"

Blythe stand up and went to her drawers and change her clothes. After changing she went downstairs and have a dinner with her mom.

Blythe only lived with her mom. Her father leave them when she's in highschool. At first she hated her dad for leaving her mom; for leaving them. But now she realizes that her mom deserves to be happy and her father having new family wasn't that bad. Her mother and her father are in both good place now and as long as her mother is happy she really doesn't care about having a father around. Her father never stop supporting her financially while studying and she's grateful for that besides having and holding grudge will not put you on good state. Always find something good even at the worst situation. Always choose to love and do not let your heart consumed by hatred and bitterness. Always be the light in this gloomy, murky, frowzy world.
