Magical Discovery

Rowan was confused as to how Luken found out his listlessness but answered precisely as always.

"I want to be able to help more, but my specialties are limited."

Luken partly asked out of courtesy and worry out of Rowan being bored from him and Gale writing letters, while Rowan was neglected for hours. It was also an instinct that prompted him to ask Rowan, although Rowan was in an expressionless, static mirror, something told him that he was upset.

'It's probably because we are becoming better friends now!' Luken secretly puffed his chest and replied, "Specialties can be expanded, so, what do you want to learn?"

Rowan slightly hesitated at that question, which did not go unnoticed by the platinum-haired man. It was not that he did not believe Luken would not help him, Rowan was more concerned with the fact that he was still stuck in the mirror. Could he even learn magic when he was in the mirror? Nevertheless of his apprehension, Rowan answered with a clear voice, "I want to learn magic, if possible."

The platinum-haired man was pleased by his (as per usual) truthful answers, though he was a bit dissatisfied inside. Does Rowan need to hold back on requesting things? Even if it was impossible, Luken would still try his best to give him what he wants. As for getting Rowan out of that mirror... he was still working on that...

For now, Luken would keep working on freeing Rowan and teaching him magic!

"Of course it's possible! In fact-" Luken abruptly stood up, startling Gale awake from his desk, "-let's learn how."

Gale, completely lost as to what was happening, watched Luken hold Rowan's mirror body and walk out of the study room. He quickly got up before they disappeared from his sight to see what was happening. Rowan didn't mind the extra company as he too was a bit surprised by the sudden magic lesson, while Luken was more than displeased.

He was trying to build a bond! Gale was a complete intruder in his eyes, no matter how many years they spent together like brothers, Luken was still irritated at Gale's lack of tact.

Though they all "harmoniously" traveled to Luken's room. It was a lavish room, but not overly ornate. The room was filled with dark blue colors that were accented with gold, giving the area a sense of mystery and a cold feeling. The bed had been simply made, being a king-sized with navy blankets. Next to the bed was a newly placed bookshelf that Luken filled with books that he often read when alone with Rowan in the bedroom. Yes, it is not Rowan's first time in the room.

In fact, he "sleeps" here with Luken, his "bed" being the top of a desk and a stack of books that prop him up so he could see the garden outside of the window nearby. He could not actually sleep, but he could enjoy the view of Nelumbo's unique water gardens filled with lilies and frogs.

Without him noticing, Luken pressed a certain section of his wall, which opened up to reveal a passageway. Gale entered with no care in the world, since he had already seen what the entire castle had to offer, whether Luken liked it or not. While Rowan was impressed by the intricate design of the castle, he had never seen the secret entrance.

Luken guided them deeper into the darkness until they finally entered an open room, which seemed to sense them as torches automatically lit themselves up as if to greet the trio.

"This is my private training room. It's best to have as much privacy as possible, we could never be too careful. Nevertheless, tonight marks our first magic lesson." Luken told the man in the mirror and motioned Gale to step aside, who replied with an eye roll.

"The first thing to magic is to know how to channel it throughout your body. That is the beginning of everything. Once you manage to cycle the magic in your body for a while and become used to it, you should be able to learn a few basic spells that involve the same actions." Luken patiently explained in the best way he could.

Rowan also listened with enthusiasm but realized a problem. Well, once again realized his problem: He was somewhat lacking of a body and had no free will. So, how was he going to even control the magic within him?

Luken seemed to realize his mistake but regained his composure. "I'll just imitate the rotation of magic on your body."

He immediately began to release light magic out of the palm of his hand to transfer it to Rowan, only to discover that his magic was being sucked in by the mirror. Every bit of energy he intended for Rowan to use for magic practice were all absorbed. He lifted an eyebrow at the finding and cut off the magic in worry that it negatively impacted Rowan.

On the other hand, Rowan made an amazing discovery.
