It was three days later the third week of the month that's already gone and passed by and still the winter season going on in Z-city.
And it looked like the new group of survivors have settled in comfortably in Safe Haven, all content and happy, even though there are obvious tensions between the old and new groups there.
It has been peaceful and quiet so far between these two groups of survivors, and despite the tension, they try to get along and know each other more to find out on either side whether they are truly good friendly people or not.
The only one who didn't seem to partake in those kinds of social activities with the others is Eden herself.
And she seemed to have a good reason for it, while she stands back and hides in the shadows, away from the new group of survivors, as well as the old ones, since it looked like she's still treading on thin grounds with them after she had admitted her mistake on going out on her own alone last time.
Granted, the ones that Eden has trouble being trusted again were just Ryu and Daiyu, even though Sahara started trusting Eden again after that time but Daiyu is taking his brother's side upon Eden's reckless decision for what she had done before the past days.
Eden had already known but did not regret her mistake of going out alone late at night when she needed to have her head cleared from any troubling thoughts she had. And despite that she had tried to reason with Ryu about her problems and self-conflicts and doubts, the Asian man was still disappointed in her for not confiding them about it so that they would help her whenever she needed it, but she didn't.
But Eden is working on getting back that trust again when she does, right now she seems to be focused on the important matter at hand, which is dealing with the new group of survivors and assessing them intently whether they are truly good people or not, and if they deserved the right to stay in Safe Haven, even though two of them are important and necessary enough for them to stay there because of their status. And that particular status would be the facts of the woman Tanya being pregnant and Erik as an expert medical doctor.
Despite that these two are the specific exceptions among the other new survivors that are staying in Safe Haven, Eden is not letting her guard down around them, including the doctor man Erik himself because she thinks inside her mind that there might be some ulterior motive when it comes to the others if there are or not.
And it looked like Sahara and Ryu seemed to agree with Eden's opinion, though these two didn't know that they all share the same thoughts about their suspicions and wariness toward the new group of survivors. Ryu is keeping his distance from Eden but Sahara isn't when she talked to her and shared their opinions concerning the new survivors, both women agreed that these people needed to be watched closely and assessed very well until they're sure that this new group has proven themselves that they are no threat or danger to their group in Safe Haven.
It took about three days for the time to pass on since the new survivor group have been brought into Safe Haven, being taken care of and allowing them into a safe secure place, and provided them opportunities to have them contribute to keeping their group safe more as well as earn their right to stay by proving themselves to join in house chores or do other tasks to work for helping out the group and such.
Eden discreetly whispered and told Sahara to stand down because her sister Nadia and her brother Homer would find it odd if they noticed their sister looking at the new survivors like a hawk eyeing another predator. Eden reassured Sahara that she and Ryu will be the ones keeping a close watch and focusing their eyes on them, studying and assessing their true motives and finding out the truth if they are the good kind of people or not.
After given that, for three days, there's nothing so far to reveal or anything else new and suspicious from the new survivors, but then Eden knew that it won't take that long for her to spot something amiss if they try hiding it from them.
Even though Eden is focused on watching the new survivors and assessing them, it also looks like she's trying to attempt to ease the tension between herself and Ryu when it looks like there's still some sort of distance that he's making against her, as he's still upset with her or something.
Eden knows better that she and Ryu are nothing more than just friends, she seemed confused and curious about the reason why Ryu is acting like this like she's someone close and dear to him or something of the sort. But she shook that thought away and decided to figure it out later besides watching the new survivors, as she settled her children to sleep for another night to rest in their room.
Once Eden tucked them in and they fell instantly asleep in their shared bed, she lies back comfortably, pats Luna and Archer on their heads when the two dogs settled near them and reached out for her journal to write another new entry into it about the recent times and events that's been happening or going on in the last three days and so on. She made sure she got the candle to light up in their room in a small dim glow so that others outside wouldn't notice that she is still awake, even though the majority of all of them, including the new survivors, would have been asleep by now already, except their watch-guard on shift, that is the Asian brothers, Ryu and Daiyu who volunteered at that very night.

JOURNAL ENTRY: DAY UNKNOWN, 11TH MONTH NOVEMBER, YEAR 2XXX
Hey, it's Eden again.
I know you've been wondering about the new survivors and thinking about what's been done with them when we were forced to bring them into Safe Haven.
Well, there's nothing much to worry about, except the fact that I haven't found out the real truth and everything upon trying to find out or know more about them, and knowing what their true motives are.
Yeah, I'm sure that it's concerning that we just accepted them just like that, so suddenly.
But what can I--or rather we do?
One of them is a doctor, whom we needed desperately for our group upon finding that part out from the man called Erik, who is the only German guy among his group.
And there's the added fact that one of the Jewish girls, named Tanya, is pregnant for that matter.
Even though these two are the sole exceptions upon letting them stay in Safe Haven, I'm not so sure about accepting the others because I don't know more about them since we didn't get the chance into checking them out and scoping them more from a distance when the last time we had gotten out and tried to assess them there but couldn't when we noticed Tanya's pregnant condition.
Granted, when we confronted them in a gentle way that last time, the men weren't so forgiving and nice upon being found out and faced unexpectedly by other survivors like us and we were at a stand-off until Sahara managed to speak out loud and told them that we have a safe secure place in Safe Haven and that they can be taken care of there without worry from any dangers lurking in Z-city.
At first, they were distrustful of us, thinking that this might be a trap, which is considered obvious that they must have seen or met their fair share of hostile survivors just as Ryu and Sahara's group have gone through until I came and rescued them.
It didn't take long for them to accept that our offer is true and good for them since they worry for their team member that is the pregnant Tanya, even though Erik and she tried reassuring the others that it was not her due date yet. But the others including Tanya's sister are not taking the chance into staying in their temporary place, which is unsafe for them but they were forced to stay there because they were looking for supplies.
When Sahara had confessed to them that I was the one who made Safe Haven to her secure and safe glory as well as taking them in, they looked at me gratefully like they were thanking me deeply for allowing them to stay in there, and truthfully, I didn't show it on my face, but I was a little annoyed and cautious on taking them in, except there's no other way to settle it since I also care for the well-being of the vulnerable pregnant woman in her state of condition.
Once we got them in and settled, Mother Ying and Ole Bessie didn't hesitate to fuss on the pregnant Tanya and make her feel comfortable and let her feel stress-free so that there won't be any problems anymore during the duration of the rest of her pregnancy. The children were nervous and wary of the new strangers at first, but it didn't take them long to get closer to them with their guardian's permission, even mine and the first person they wanted to get close to and were curious about was, of course, Tanya.
I almost chuckled out loud with amusement at the sight of the children crowding around the pregnant woman, all curious and cooing at her slightly big round belly and Tanya was basking in the attention like she was happy to see that there are more survivors like her, which are the children, and she was very happy to see that they've been cared for well by us.
It's been three days since then when my group and I have taken in these new survivors and my only plans were just to study them further and assess them to make sure if they are really good and friendly kinds of people or not. Here's hoping by the next few days in the future, the truth will come out and everything will be well.
I don't like the idea of turning them away and casting them back out there into Z-city where the streets are full of dangers and threats of zombies and possible hostile survivors, but I knew that I have to ensure the safety and security of my group if these new ones dare to pose any threat against us.
I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, I don't know if I'm up to dealing with this kind of difficult situation when it comes to it or not. I guess only time will tell I guess.
Until then, this is Eden signing off.

After Eden finished writing the new entry into her journal, she put it away and back to its hiding place before she straightens herself and lies down with an arm curling protectively over her two sleeping children and will be joining them in slumber.
When she put away the journal, she blew out the candle at the same time as darkness filled the room and before she closed her eyes to sleep, with her two dogs Luna and Archer staying awake and guarding over them, Eden seemed to be wondering in her mind and thinking deeply about the uneasy tensions the two groups staying and living in Safe Haven are having, and seemed to be thinking about on how she's going to deal with that.
Hopefully, by the next few days, Eden will figure it out by then, after she's done assessing the new survivors and making sure of their true motives, even finding out the truth if they're truly friendly and good people or not.
